VADER DOWN, PART FOUR Han & Luke take on Vader's forces… and more? Meanwhile… Leia makes a hard decision. Marvel's first Star Wars event continues here!
Darth Vader #14 is so far the most underwhelming issue yet of the Vader Down crossover event. In this fourth installment, Darth deals with Leia and the Han Solo band encounters yet another imposing enemy.
This issue, both in story and art is underwhelming and lacks the passion and detail I saw in the previous issues.
C3PO gets an interesting scene in this issue. The last page was sort of an unwelcomed party crasher, but that's kinda expected.
Aphra says, "Waspworms. I HATE waspworms." This sounds a lot like Indiana Jones' comments about snakes. When 0-0-0 says "That could have gone better," I am reminded of how I feel that the previous issue could have been better. 0-0-0 takes C-3PO's arms as what I think will be temporary replacements before he gets new arms in the Darth Vader Annual. It feels a bit ridiculous, to be honest, but also funny given that C-3PO has a red arm in The Force Awakens. When attacked by Krrsantan, Chewie fights back and Han tells Luke that they can handle it. Luke does not want to leave them, but Han says Leia will die if he does not. This feels like a mirrored version of Anakin wanting to not leave Padme during the Battle of Geonosis. Leia orders Y-Wings to converge on Vader even if it means sacrificing herself. A crashed Y-Wing pilot is killed by Commander Karbin, and the final page showing him reminds me of Grievous appearing at the end of Kanan #9. I am curious to see where this goes.

It looks like everybody is coming to join the party. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Boba Fett makes his appearance in the next issue. Obviously our heroes will survive, but I wonder how they will escape their current predicament with all the converging imperial forces. My guess would be due to a distraction when Darth Vader and his rivals inevitably clash.
“Darth Vader #14” Leia to Vader: “You can kill me but you can't kill what I stand for … and you won't stop justice.” C-3P0: “Oh, Mistress Leia! You are a sight for malfunctioning optics!” - - -
The good thing is I finished this before falling asleep, the bad thing is when this happens, I forget what I want to say lol So Triple Zero stole the hands of CTHREEPIO, which is funny as hell, ThreePIO is still continuing the trend of finding himself in unfortunate situations. Princess Leia wants to kill herself but take Darth Vader with her, WOW! I know he is a bad guy, but why is she so extreme against him? I don't even remember her reasoning I swear, is it just because he serves an evil empire or is there more to this hate? I might need to read the main star wars title for that, and I probably will because Jason Aaron is doing a fabulous job over there, this cross over event, made this abundantly clear. Han Solo even though he isn't the most upright person in the universe, but he is actually a great person, his loyalty to his friends is unmatched, I continue to be impressed by him. Also Luke looks way more handsome in the comics than in the movies, his looks actually went downhill with each part they made lol
Murderous droids are so much fun. Aphra and her evil droids 000 and Beetee run into their totally not dopplegangers Han Solo, C-3P0 and R2-D2. Banter and arm-dismemberment ensues.
Y por si fuera poco, aparecen Krrsantan el negro y el comandante Karbin. Esto promete ser una fiesta. Y con los robots de Aphra todavía más desatados. Una pasada de número.
After eliminating her entire battalion, Vader is face-to-face with Princess Leia, who just may have one more trick up her sleeve! But with Imperial forces arriving, the entire Rebellion may be in danger! Luke, Han, and Chewie may have escaped Doctor Aphra and her droids, they may be in deeper trouble when they run into another one of her allies!
Chaos reigns across the battlefield as characters are running everywhere for safety! There’s a lot of action going on in this issue and the short scenes run by pretty quickly. The break-neck pace is fitting for the story and almost makes this issue feel way too short!
The inclusion of new characters from earlier issues of this series really makes this pot boil over! There are so many characters and scenarios playing out its almost too tough to keep track, but there is a lot of fun as it just keeps getting crazier!
Fun arc that tells a story that could never be done on screen!
Poor C-3P0. He lost his arms to 000. I wonder if this explains his red arm in TFA. Han and Luke go off to rescue Leia, who planned an all-out attack on Vader. She expects many to die, but as long as Vader goes down, it will be worth it. Vader, of course, set up a trap. The Y-Wings are ambushed. Commander Karbin doesn’t care who wins as he wins regardless.
A bit confused as to what’s happening there at the end, but I suppose it will work itself out in the next issue.
