I got this book from the library at the school I teach at. I read it to the Pre-K girls during center time. They loved the pictures and were intrigued the whole time. I don't think I would read this to the class because few boys would be interested.
This book followed along with the movie's story pretty well. But, I was kinda disappointed in the fact that it was inconsistent about the gender/sex of Tika. Tika is obviously a girl, but is sometimes called her and sometimes his.
My daughter really enjoyed this book when I read it to her. I found the story itself interesting for a kids an easy to follow along. Great for the beautiful daughters in your life who you consider to be your own princess.
For it's intended audience, I think this is a wonderful book. It reaccounts one of the Barbie movies and includes pictures, but does not make them the center focus. Actually it was quite enjoyable.
