I am rapidly becoming a fan of illustrator Neil Reed. This time, he uses a full palette of vivid color, but still knows the value of black and white. He's a photo-realist ... which is a hard act to pull off in an urban fantasy story.

The simple, straightforward text is as painfully beautiful as the illustrations.

Although written for a UK market, I think American kids (and kids at heart) will get the gist.

Can't recommend highly enough. It's currently available at The Internet Archive.

Book review of Unicorn Dreams by Dan Sheldon and Neil Reed

A sweet book that is either for slightly more advanced readers or to be read out loud. The artwork is more on the realistic side of things and isn’t skimped on. The books has positive messages about the power of imagination.

Recommended for unicorn fans and imaginative children.
