As can be seen in my review of a different edition of this book, I found it to be over-detailed for an undergraduate course in physical chemistry. Having read a slightly different edition while taking a graduate level quantum chemistry course, I feel validated. Everything that I needed to know for a graduate level course was explained here and the mathematics were appropriate for that level. At the end of the day I would recommend this book to someone who has already taken an introductory course in quantum chemistry, but not to someone new to it.

The description of the key concepts of quantum chemistry is not very clear. Similarly, the mathematical proofs that might aid in the understanding of the math involved are not spelled out and thus complicate the course further. I would not recommend it as an aid for a quantum chemistry course or for general readers as it is not very helpful.
