The second installment in the Lilith Straight series did not disappoint. Just as Lilith thinks she has things under control as a succubus, her world once again is pulled out from under her. After a run in with an angel bent on keeping her from succeeding on her current task and a contest against oh so yummy William about who will complete the task first, Lilith has to get creative in order to achieve her goal.

I love the take on Angels and Demons in this series. It's a different twist than the usual. Even though Lilith is technically a demon, or at least has one living in her, everything she does is for a greater good. She does what she has to do to survive and keep her daughter safe even if she does not necessarily like it.

I really liked that we got to see more of Ariel and her situation in this story. I really caught myself feeling sorry for her as the story progressed and I was glad that Lilith was there for her.

I also loved the humor in this book and actually caught myself laughing out loud a few times while getting strange looks from my family. I cannot wait to see where this story goes with Lilith and her new tricks, William and his newfound feelings, Tommy and Jasmine.

Following on from Straight to Hell, Lilith is starting to get to grips with her job as seductress. When she's assigned to Craig to convince him to mail a mysterious package, she is thwarted by a stranger with bright blue eyes. She hopes Miss Spry doesn't punish her for her failure, she's a tough boss to work for after all, but there is something special about this case and Lilith is sent back into the field. Soon she learns that she's got a battle on her hands, the angels are involved and they don't want to lose this soul.

I found Straight to Heaven the better of the two Lilith Straight books so far. There was more of a structured plot and I got drawn into the fight between good and evil without knowing which side I wanted to win. Lilith is also starting to learn about her demonic powers a bit more and isn't quite so useless, though she is still far from perfect!

An enjoyable sequel to Straight to Hell. Lilith grows and learns - sometimes much more than she bargained for - and I found this second installment to be more satisfying than the first considering I'm a HEA fan.

Resigned to her fate, seductress Lilith Straight continues on her as-of-yet successful career of tempting innocent souls into the world of sin. But her guilt weighs her down. Add to that a frustratingly difficult client, a sexy incubus competing with her and a bet that encompasses heaven and hell and you have recipe guaranteed for enjoyment.

Straight to Heaven like it's predecessor, is a book that leaves you wanting more. Filled with 'interesting' situations, snarky humour and hilarious dialogues, it left me in stitches.

Michelle Scott really outdid herself this time. He story line was superb. Complete, with a battle between Heaven and hell, defected soldiers and Demon assassins, the book definitely delivered more than it promised.

Her characters were, as always, perfect. Believably flawed, they seemed so real! Lilith is trying to be the perfect mother she is, but when you have to choose between what you think is right and what really is right, the choice isn't all that easy. The relationships between Grace and Lilith, between Ariel and Grace and even Mr. Clerk and the rest - they were all perfect. Demons, though they are, Scott brought out a human side that is both believable and lovable.

Miss Spry is, as always awesome! I know she's bad and all, but when she was 'chastising' Mr. Clerk, I was like I have found my role model! ;)

But what I love best about this book is the relationship focus underneath all the drama. At the end of the day, Lilith is just a mother, trying to look out for her daughter, keeping her niece out of the cracks and keeping her family together. It is not easy, she has to do things she would rather not - but despite everything else, she knows she has to get them done. And that's what I respect most about her. She always comes through for those she loves.

The battle of wills that started between Miss Spry and Lilith, may not be over, but we can safely say, this journey will go beyond the Miss Spry's realm of dominance. This won't be a simple duel. And I won't miss it for anything!

Lilith Straight is back. This time with new assignment. Did I mention that she works for the Devil? She almost died in the book one, and became a succubus just to be there for her daughter. And that hasn't changed yet. She has a new contract, finish the job to save her daughter from the curse of becoming a succubus. But there is a little problem, or should I say problems. There is always someone to bother her. And that someone comes from Heaven. There is always someone with shiny blue eyes trying to protect the people that Lilith is trying to drag to Hell. Not to mention her colleagues from Hell trying to interfere in her assignment just to fail, or the curious old neighbor next door. But also, there is someone with shiny blue eyes around her family, keeping her daughter safe.

I loved this book. I loved the first one, and I couldn't wait for the second one. There were moments when I laughed aloud. Usually I read in the bus on my way to work, and there were people sitting next to me thinking that I'm weird just seeing me smiling. This is not an ordinary story for the battle between Heaven and Hell. This is a story for family. Lilith would do anything just to keep her family safe. She has unconditional love for her daughter, her niece, her friends. It doesn't matter if she has to lie, shoot with a gun, beat someone or seduce. It doesn't matter what she has to do, her daughter is always number one on her list. Lilith is an amazing character. Sometimes she is so smart, sometimes so clumsy. I was laughing aloud when she went to play golf. I was so tensed when she was running through the house rescuing her family. (I'm not spoiling anything, I'll leave you to read the book). This is a must-read entertaining story for unconditional mother's love.

I was given a free copy of this book on it's blog tour for an honest review.

This book picks up with Lil living both the perks and cons of her choices from book one. She’s come to terms with her inner demon and attempted to salvage her life the best she can. I have to admit for the most part, I was still devastated by her actions in the last book. Therefore I was in a moot mood until I saw the conflict. Then I began to root for her adversaries. (Shameful but true.) Yet right when I was three quarters done, Lil began to redeem herself in my mind. I am anxiously anticipating to see whether the next book takes her closer to the light or dark.

Notes: Name of book 2 changed... Stayed on track, opened story, closed lines, left opening for a follow up. Lost a little of the Straight humor but made up for it with the story line. Fast moving and such.. see notes and review ASAP before release date.

Straight to Heaven is an enjoyable sequel, and a great little romp of a story overall. To me, it's interesting reading about a female character who actually has a child, and has this much devotion to said child. Usually in these kinds of books there is no child, or there is and the child's kind of forgotten about and shoved to the back of the story, which makes this book unique in one way of many.

The author has created a world that you can sink in to, but when you're reading the book and in the world, you're at the mercy of the author. If she wants to make you laugh, you laugh, if she wants to make you cry, you cry. Scott writes so incredibly that when Lilith is feeling one way, you can pretty much feel the same, or feel for her. I found myself tensely reading some scenes, the tension oozing off the page, fumbling in my haste to switch the page, and that's the best kind of book really isn't it? When you feel the atmosphere in the story/book as you're reading.

The other thing that makes this one of the best books, and such a joy to read is that it's not all tense and such, this is one of the books that needs a hazard label. "DO NOT READ IN PUBLIC PLACES" otherwise you're going to look like a total loony when you're grinning stupidly at the book, or choking in your attempts to stop laughing out loud on a packed tube, which is always awkward. This book seriously makes you laugh out loud with it's hilarity, and there's no greater thing than a book that can make that happen!

Lilith is even better in this installment, because you see her grow and change as a character, she learns from her mistakes and tries to do better which is a change from the first book where I think myself and a few other people where just like "SERIOUSLY NO WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT NO" haha! I really enjoy reading about Lilith because to me, she's a likeable character, she's witty, which is one of the things that I love in female leads, and she's quite chipper considering what's going on. You've gotta admire her drive to fight for everyone she loves, and to keep going, her willpower I guess. You can connect to her and admire her all at the same time, which makes the book so easy to read!

More mystery is shrouded around the plot, with Lilith's background or heritage or whatever you wanna call it, as well as with a few other characters. You're left burning to know more, needing to now more and needing the next installment NOW because you can't wait to find out and have your questions answered! Unique thing #867886 about this book is that it's a perfect, and in my case, never before been seen blend of urban fantasy and chick lit. I seriously haven't read anything before where these have been blended together, but it really works!

The mystery created in the book is the perfect blend, you get enough answers to satisfy you, and there's just enough questions so that you're intrigued to keep reading and when it ends and you still don't know, you're waiting excitedly for the next book with theories flying all over the place!

Straight To Heaven is a fast paced, hard to put down, hilarious read! With a plot that just thickens, it's the perfect sequel, with the right amount of mystery and intrigue, and plenty to make it unique, and a fantastic take on Angels and Demons and Hell and all that jazz!

(I was given this book for free on a read-to-review basis, as part of the ‘straight to heaven’ blog tour.)
This is book two in the ‘Lilith Straight’ series. **Warning** unavoidable spoilers for book 1 ‘straight to hell’.
Lilith is now on to her 19th seduction. She hates being a succubus, but anything is better than her 8 year-old daughter Grace having to do the job instead. Lilith is still as determined as ever to try and get out of her contract, she just has to find the right way to do it!

Thankfully she has her house back though, and has even put in a pool. Money isn’t so tight anymore due to large amounts appearing in her account every so often, although now she has her old nosey neighbours to deal with again, as well as the ex-husband who seems to live to irritate her, and her niece Ariel and her shoplifting habit.

Seduction No 19 is turning out to be more trouble than expected too. How hard can it be to convince someone to mail a parcel when they are already at the post office? Extremely difficult if it turns out that said person has a sneaky guardian angel watching over them!

Having failed the first time, Miss Spry offers an incentive to try and keep Lilith motivated – complete this job, and Lilith’s contract will be changed so that her daughter Grace never has to become a succubus.
With the stakes massively raised, Lilith must try to complete this job, but with an incubus also on the same assignment, and pesky guardian angels saving the day, can she really complete this seduction, and save Grace from the same fate?

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a definite cross between urban fantasy and chick lit, and it really works!

Lilith is once again her bubbly, witty self, and always continues on no matter what the circumstance. She continues to fight for the people she loves – Grace, Ariel, Jasmine, Tommy, and refuses to accept anything but a full relationship with the lovely William. (Can’t wait to find out what happens here!)

Miss Spry seemed to be not so overwhelmingly evil in this instalment, she offered incentives! and we heard quite a lot from her assistant Mr Clerk, who seemed to have a few secrets of his own. There were also some discoveries with regard to Lilith’s birth and death, and a teaser at the end for the next book!

I liked the storyline. It was nice that the story focused on just one temptation that proved to be harder than expected, and also had in
there all the day-to-day happenings in Lilith’s hectic life! The story was fast paced and kept me entertained and involved all the way through, this book is anything but boring!

Now the good news: we only have to wait ‘til December to find out what happens next! Yay!

Overall: A great combination of urban fantasy and chick lit!
8 out of 10.

STRAIGHT TO HEAVEN BY MICHELLE SCOT
THE BLURB
Mother, teacher, wanton she-demon
Welcome to my life. I’m Lilith Straight, Hell’s newest employee. Although I’m getting pretty good at letting the succubus inside me take over, life in Hell is never easy. Miss Spry is up to her old tricks. She promised to let me save my daughter from my fate, but only if I can tempt my next client.
That’s how I end up horns-to-halo with a guardian angel determined to rescue my next victim. To make matters worse, William Benedict, the hottest demon in Hell, is trying to undermine my mission with some temptations of his own…
Nothing is ever what you expect in Hell, but really I should have known that already!

Why I liked it.

So, Lilith Straight is at it again. Being a Succubus, taking charge of her crazy life and hoping that everything turns out fine. Can she stay out of trouble? I doubt that. And there’s so much going around her, so much she is to take care of, that I do feel sorry for her at times. But I truly admire her brave, feisty character. It’s something worth marveling at.

There are some good humorous bits in there among multiple other emotions (sadness, love, frustration) and lots of action, of course.

William Darcy and Mr. Clerk play a good part as does Ari. I truly feel for that child, what an interesting character. In fact, all the characters in this book are well etched-out.

I like the fact that this book is fast-paced and never dulls even for a moment. It makes for a good one-sitting reading.

Why I didn't like it.

Well, I wished the book had more tasks given to Lilith than the only one, that was. It sort of started dragging for me and I couldn't identify with it.

The ending didn't really gel with my mind.

The book did start out alright but dulled for me thereon.

Also, I wished to see more of William Darcy.

And I don't know, perhaps, I didn't like the plot much, that is it.

Others have loved this series, so you might want to see for yourself.

I am going to be brutally honest here, I didn't love Lilith after reading the first book in the series, Straight To Hell. She didn't have any redeeming qualities and she made a lot of really bad and really stupid choices that just seemed to make her life and the ones she loved harder.

I didn't understand her and I couldn't relate to her but the I did like the concept of the series and the writing and still felt myself drawn into the story.

So when I picked up the second book, Straight To Heaven, I prepared myself to meet Lilith again and to put up with all the stupidity that I figured would ensue with her story.

So you can imagine my surprise when with this latest installment in the Lilith Straight series that I found myself gasp liking Lil. Well, maybe like is still too strong a word but I did feel myself softening towards her a lot.

I really enjoyed watching her learning from her mistakes and trying a little harder to make better choices and to right her past wrongs as well. I think she even managed to pull off a few redeeming qualities.

I liked the added mystery that was introduced in this one with Lil's heritage and then of course with William, Helen and even Mr. Clerk.

I am really looking forward to the next book to see what happens next. This series truly is getting better with each new book and yes, I might even say by the third one that I actually do like Lilith.

Can't wait to see what Mrs. Scott comes up with next!

“Straight to heaven” is the follow-up book to” Straight to Hell” and although, Straight to heaven can be read as a stand alone because it does provide the necessary information, I suggest you do read the first one because you would be missing out on a lot of fun.

I found “Straight to hell” a totally unique. It defies genre labelling because it could be considered chick-lit, paranormal and urban fantasy all mixed into one great package. Lillith has grown a bit since the last book and is more confident in her abilities. She is still charmingly flawed and just as loveable.

This book has it all- incubus, succubus, angels, demons, heaven, hell and the eternal fight between good and evil; not to mention a sassy kick ass heroine. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments and plenty of action. This is a series that is not to be missed. Can someone please make this into a film or a television show?

This series is now a firm favourite of mine and I highly recommend to anyone who like fiction with some cheeky wee devils

I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was cute and fun. Perfect for the beach or a vacation! I liked Lilith as a character, especially her love for her daughter. I might not have always agreed with her decisions, but I respected her as a character, so it worked for me. Also, the secondary characters were great. I loved the variety of secondary characters, with my favourites being Mr. Clerk and Ariel.

I liked the premise of the story and the way the afterlife is portrayed. I enjoyed how Hell was hidden under a polish veneer, but it's denizens couldn't always hide their true faces. I also enjoyed Lilith's struggle with morality. Can someone who does bad things (and works for the devil) be a good person? Lilith makes me believe that maybe they can.

And then there's Mr. Darcy, Lilith's oh-so-sexy coworker. A very attractive reminder than sometimes the flaws make the man.

4.5 stars! I devoured this just like I did the first book. The annoying thing with Lilith is how she doesn't think things through and then can't figure out why things happen the way they do.

Writing wise my only complaint would be the jumping around. There's just a sentence missing here and there sometimes that would help explain how a character came to a conclusion or where there's a drastic change of scenery.

It'd be nice to get some more background on Mr Clerk or the angels themselves. Clerk seemed to not actin character; he was quite different from how he was in the first book, especially when it came to William or helping Lilith.

Since I read the books back to back, I'm going to stop here, before I end up confusing the two and writing something that doesn't apply.

This was such a fun book to read. Although I wasn't aware it was book 2 in the series until i had gone half way. none the less it was thoroughly entertaining finished it in 2 days because the story was that good. Was sad how it ended as i was eager to understand how Lilith could cross over into heaven and what exactly has happened to Mr Clerk.
Can Lilith still be saved and sent to heaven? Im keen to read book 3 now.

I just couldn't do it. The only thing I found amusement in while reading Straight to Heaven was that Lilith kept getting thwarted at every turn by a guardian angel. That was about the only thing I found entertaining at all. It was her, Lilith. I just couldn't stand her therefore I didn't get into this story either. Smh.

The continuation of the suburban housewife turned succubus. Frankly, I'm more interested in some of the supporting characters which is only reason why I'm going ahead with the third book.

The books aren't bad, the main character is simply flat for me. I can't relate to her on any level.

Just as good as the first one. Lilith has been doing better with her "job" as a succubus but her latest assignment is harder. With guardian angels and an incubus thwarting her attempts she's finding it more difficult than ever.

This series is awesome, a must read!
