I’m just getting more and more disappointed in this series. When I was a kid, I had only read three of the books and loved them (“Don’t Eat the Mystery Meat,” “Camp Dracula,” and “Slime Lake). I really feel that they are hit and miss. I still love “Camp Dracula” and “Slime Lake” but the writing in this series is just subpar. I can see why it wasn’t such a big success. I feel like it’s if “Bailey School Kids” and “Sideway Stories from Wayside School” had a boring baby.

A part of me doesn’t want to continue wasting time reading this series but I feel compelled to see how some of the other books fare in the series. A part of me wants to sell all of the books because I know there is somebody out there that would love to have them although my “Camp Dracula” copy is pretty beaten up. I do think it’s a good series for little kids. I’ve just outgrown it. I wonder if I should keep it for my son and future kiddos to read because they might get enjoyment out of them as simple as they can be. I do like the endings though. They always have some truth to what the stories are about and some of the books have had good plot twists you don’t see coming.

This one reminded me of “Ms. Nelson Is Missing.” Timid teacher, kids pull pranks on her. She or he I should say- get the last laugh in the end.

Me ha tocado leer tres libros de la serie, este entre ellos, muy buena forma de iniciar a los niños en la literatura de terror.

Welcome to Goosebumps Lite, folks! Like the Goosebumps series, this explores the strange happenings of a group of young kids, although it's all set in one area. It seems that the only 'spooky' thing about this book is that there is a graveyard nearby... but given I attended a high school that had a graveyard right in the middle of it and folks would sit on the graves to eat lunch, it doesn't seem all that spooky (looking back on it as an adult, it really is odd, though).

Now, the whole premise of this book is both fairly realistic in that kids like to pull pranks on unfortunate teachers, and also incredibly bizarre. I could just sit here and go on and on about the ending of this book- which, all things considered, I picked up early on in the novel- but hey, it's a kids book. I should give it some slack.

Kids would like this book, I think- if they didn't roll their eyes at the end, either.

Also? Not nearly enough 'spooky'.
