Living in Jackson's cold embrace, Serenity no longer remembers who she is. Repeat feedings have left her a mere shell of a person and she has no recollections of her past life, though the sense that she isn't alone often haunts her.
Back in Los Angeles, Sebastian has never given up hope of finding her again. Their daughter, Elizabeth, experiences visions of Serenity's new existence and together they track her across the country.
But finding Serenity might prove to be the least of their problems. When Sebastian seeks the help of an older vampire, Demitrios, the family find themselves in the fight of their lives.

Great book. Loved it thoroughly. Liked the tension. Scared by the newest tragedy, glad Serenity and Sebastian are together again. But was really a surprise ending for me. As I guess it will be for most. Sneaky.
Serenity and Sebastian are still amazing together but with Elizabeth added they are unstoppable. Starting the next book now. Too excited to wait until morning.
Captured is the third book in the Serenity series. Even though it is the third, I actually think the author gives the reader enough background so that if you haven't had the pleasure of reading the other two books in the series, don't worry as you will be easily able to keep up with the story and not feel like your missing out on anything.
Two years have passed since the ending of book two. Serenity is just a shadow of her former self and Sebastian is starting to almost believe he might never get her back. Luckily after Elizabeth has another vision they manage to locate Serenity and save her from the evil Jackson.
Serenity has totally lost her memory from her time spent with Jackson and even though she is back in a safe and loving environment she seems to be getting worse. You can tell the frustration that Sebastian is feeling, the fact he has his beloved Serenity back yet she still seems as distant as she did when she was missing. The love between both characters is very intense and they will obviously go to any lengths for each other. The only problem is for Serenity to have her memory returned, Sebastian basically strikes a deal with the devil, or as good as, and what should be a happy return home for Sebastian, Serenity and their daughter Elizabeth ends up being Sebastian's and Serenity's worst nightmare.
Captured is such a tense read and gripping read. Sebastian, Serenity and Elizabeth are great characters and their loving family unit is one that any reader will find a place in their heart for. Can't wait to see what the author has in store for them in the next book.
So Serenity is back in the clutches of Jackson and has been so for the last 2 years. Instead of taking his revenge by killing her, Jackson has kept her as his slave so he can regularly feed from her. A result of his constant feeding is that she no longer remembers who she is or of her life before he started feeding from her. Sebastian and Elizabeth, for their part, haven’t stopped searching for her and Elizabeth continues to have visions, which gives them a starting point on each of their searches. Elizabeth now lives with her father and has as normal a life as possible. Bridget, who is a witch, is her nanny and she takes care of Elizabeth during daylight hours.
After 2 long years, Elizabeth has a vision which places Serenity and Jackson in Washington DC. For once, luck is on their side and Elizabeth and Sebastian finally catch up with Serenity and Jackson. While Sebastian is dealing with Jackson, Elizabeth flees with Serenity until Sebastian catches up with them and takes his family home to Los Angeles where Serenity’s recovery begins. Her recovery is, however, very slow and a desperate Sebastian takes her to New York so he can seek guidance from an ancient vampire, Dimitri. And now we read about a whole new set of problems. As usual, the twists and turns are plentiful and again, I’m glad I took a chance and continued to read the series as each book just gets better and better.
I liked that this book takes the series further, pushing the boundaries of the supernatural world further and giving us a wider view. Elizabeth is a great character and pivotal in this book. Things happen to and because of her, and her unusual gifts. Again this books uses the family as the focus exploring and developing their relationships and how they yet again have to make difficult choices and fight for what they want. I was sad that James and his family weren't in this one really but liked the introduction of Bridget, a woman with secrets of her own. This wasn't as good as the first two books although it was certainly very readable and I did enjoy it. It has been set up for further books in the series to be developed and I will be reading them because I like this author's style and imagination but it feels a bit as though the momentum of the first two books has dropped off a bit. Nonetheless definitely a 4 star read.
I read this one on the tail ends of "Buried". Luckily I didn't have to wait for the third installment like many others as I just found this author and series.
Another well written book with smooth verse and good editing. The domestic violence part is played down in this one and you see a more traditional vampire novel. I enjoyed Elizabeth completely! Everything she did and said held me spellbound. I was not so much a fan of Sebastian's this time though and found myself a bit irritated with him from time to time.
A great series to jump into if you are looking for another paranormal addiction. While book two left me gasping, this one left me feeling good about the ending and wondering if there will be more in the lives of these characters - maybe when Elizabeth grows up a bit.
Loved Captured! The third book in the serenity series did not disappoint! Sebastian, Serenity, and Elizabeth's story picked up where Buried left off it held me as the story unfolded and kept me turning the pages!
Jackson's evil thoughts, and doings were just as gripping as in buried maybe even more so! The danger changes with each book and in their own rights they are equally nail biting!
Will they ever have their happy ending or will their lives being intertwined continue o put them all in danger? I guess we need to keep reading to find out! Can't wait for the release of the next book in the series!
Highly Recommend the whole series! I do however recommend you start with book one, Alone. Amanda
This is book 3 in The Serenity series, this story starts 2 years after book 2 ended.
Sebastian and Elizabeth finally have Serenity home and are looking forward to getting back to normal to spending the rest of their lives as a happy family. But after 2 years thinking he may never see Serenity again, Sebastian is struggling with the new Serenity that has returned to them.
There are some new characters to get to know, and the story just keeps you hooked and wanting more and result there will be! I don’t want to give too much more away so I will leave you to read it for yourself.
Another great book in this series, I cannot wait for book 4 to see what the future has in store for Serenity and her family.
Thank you Marissa for bringing us The Serenity series. 5*
Ok, I finished books 1 and 2 and overall am disappointed with Sebastian. Yes he's rich and handsome like all other leading men. He has too many disabilities being a vampire. As with a Christian Gray or Gideon Cross who use their wealth and power to move heaven and earth for their ladies, Sebastian is not able to do that in the "human" world due to being undead and he is often matchless against others of his own kind. I'm not sensing happy ever after for him and Serenity. Will continue to book 4 because I am already invested but slightly disappointed.
I loved it and again I couldnt put the nookcolor down. Seriously A MUST READ! I WANT MORE OF SERENITY! She is so strong you will be surprised, you will need to know more and more about the story. I loved it too! WOW MARISSA! YOU KNOW HOW TO CAPTURE A READERS FULL INTEREST! I want/ beg you to do book 4 in the Serenity series PLEASE!!!!!
A decent ending to the series. I would love to see it picked up with Serenity's daughter, Elizabeth, as she becomes an adult. Elizabeth is a much more likable character than Serenity and she has real potential to become something interesting. I'm tired of Serenity and Sebastian though, so I'm glad their story ended with this book.
I really liked this book, there were just a few things that drove me a bit crazy. But at the same time, the things that drove me mad, were things that gave very human characteristics to some of these characters, and I appreciated that. People make mistakes and do dumb things, so do vampires.
Book 2 Buried ended on such a cliffhanger I just had to go straight on to Book 3 Captured! Did not disappoint at all, yet more twists & gripping tension, this had me cheering, biting my nails and crying as well as wanting more, roll on Book 4!
To save her daughter she.left with Jackson the dead hubby and now two years later her sad existant is lonely but she don't know why. With Sebastian and their daughter looking what will happen where will it end
Book 3 finds Sebastian and Jackson at odds for Serenity. We are introduced to Demetri and we learn more about Elizabeth. Ms. Farrar seamlessly weaves the tales together and keeps the reader intrigued. You stay on the edge of your seat excited to flip the page to see what is in store.
Really loved this one too. Would have been good to finish the story there but as there is another book, I'm worried as to what will happen to the family.
