Guardian of the Night
***This book will be reissued in 2019 with a new edit, new cover, and new publisher *** Look for it ***
A darkly seductive tale where destiny and duty collide, drawing together two souls whose passion has the power to destroy.
The Guardian. An immortal with incredible strength, created centuries ago to protect the purity of the vampire bloodline and fight those who would abuse its power. As one of the seven Blood Knights, Mason LanVal spent lifetimes honoring his vows without wavering. That all changed the night he found Faith.
Faith James will do anything to save her missing sister. Even if it means risking her own life. She sought Mason for help. Instead she found more questions, and the key to unlocking her own latent Lycanism. She is a woman and a true-born Lycan, so her pull on Mason is twice damned. Yet he can't tear himself away.
With just one kiss, the blood gift Mason gives Faith sets in motion an all-consuming desire that is forbidden to indulge, but impossible to ignore....

If you are looking for a light and easy read this is not a book for you. If you are looking to read about a vampire who is honorable, has love for the people...all species, with big soft heart and asks nothing for himself this is a book for you.
I fell in love with the story with the first book "Golden Vampire" and this book made me love the series even more. This man, Guardian is going through some deep thoughts and searching deep in his soul what he wants from life, what is the real purpose of his existence. He faced huge disappointment that could make him lose his ground, lose himself altogether. Almost to the end I wasn't sure if we would have a happy ending. Faith and Mason are perfect for each other.
I can't express how much I love this book, how much I enjoyed reading it. Linda you did an amazing job and my only question is when is the next one coming out?

"Guardian of the Night" release date - January 10, 2020.
Book 3 in the standalone series titled THE BLOOD KNIGHT CHRONICLES takes us to France, where one of the reclusive Blood Knights still lives out his original vow to protect a holy relic, while enlarging that vow to also protect the local population from fanged parasites known as vampires.
Enter Faith James, a surgeon from the States, who is France to find her missing sister, and meets the sexy, immortal, recluse in a very bad way that could either bring her an early death, or... helped by a member of an ancient brotherhood only a few humans in the world know about.
Mystery. Adventure. Tweaked history. Romance. And the Holy Grail. This is paranormal suspense.
I hope you enjoy this book.
I'll look forward to seeing if you do.

Considering how many Paranormal Romance books there out today, it's hard to find an original and engrossing Paranormal book that is not like all the others. That is the kind that Linda Thomas-Sundstrom writes. In this story which is the third book in her Blood Knight Chronicles series, we meet another Blood Knight. What I like most about this book is the main character Mason LanVal- tall, dark, muscular, and handsome. This man is not only tall, dark and handsome, but he is like a special kind of vampire that does not attack humans but instead protects them. He meets Faith James a beautiful surgeon who is in France to try to find her missing sister. Mason will help her. I don't tell you more, but check this out for a thoroughly entertaining read!

4STARS Guardian of the Night has werewolves, werehunters, vampires and one of seven Guardians that are part vampire but stronger they were made to destroy vampires and keep thier blood pure. Faith James from Florida has come to France to find her sister that left her tour bus in the wilds of France. She crashes her car when she sees her sister and chases after her. She finds a animal trap that broke the bones and cut deep into her leg. She uses her shirt as a bandage to slow the bleeding. She knows she is in serious trouble because she is surgeon. Mason LanVal finds her and knows that others will be coming for her. He is undecided how best to help her and keep others from looking closely at him. he takes her to her car but realizes that he can't use it to take her to hospital. He can give her a drop of his blood that it would heal her but years ago he comitted to keep from giving his blood to humans. He realizes that she is not fully human and maybe that will protect him with his vows. He was a Knight long time ago and was invited to a castle and given a quest. To become like a vampire to stop vampires from spreading. They chose seven Knights these three vampires that lived in the castle. They only fed from each other and will end thier life after the seven are made. They put some of thier blood in the Challace and drink from it. Causing thier death and by the power of the Challace awake reborn. One of the seven was to take the challace and hide it from everyone else because of its vast powers. He can destroy the vampires in this area he has done it before but he belives that one of the seven guardians did not keep thier vows and he is waiting for him to show up and then get rid of them. He takes Faith after giving her a drop of blood to the werewolves he believes they will protect her till she can heal. Finds out that she is one of thier kind. Mason is drawn to Faith and can talk to her mind and she can talk to him too. Tells the wolves to protect her even from him. Its a good storyline. Thier is one love scene at the last of the book. Has a few twists. I wonder if thier will be more books coming about the other six guardians. I was given this ebook to read in exchange for honest review from Netgalley. 06/05/2012 PUB Harlequin Harlequin Nocturne

Tiny but strong and totally unshakeable.
I love a book that keeps me riveted to my seat. Guardian of the Night is one of those books. Ms Thomas-Sundstrom has created, in around three hundred pages, a great tale filled with intrigue, action and lots of romance. I identified with the characters and wanted to see them get their heart's desire as well as solve the mystery.
I liked Faith. She's on a mission and nothing will keep her from finding her sister--except Mason. Her determination is palpable. There's all kinds of things happening to her, including coming to terms with who she is, and there's a lot of soul searching. Same thing for Mason. The guy isn't supposed to be with her. She's Lycan and a woman. He's a vampire. In many books, this would just be written off as 'no they can't be together but they are'. Thomas-Sundstrom makes the characters suffer and really think about what they want. It's not a light, quick red, but certainly pulled me in. He doesn't want to taint the blood line, but he really, really wants her.
If you want a book that will not only entertain you, but will have you craving more, then this might be the book for you.

Dark, sensual, alluring and seductive. Those are the words I would use to describe this particular book written by Ms. LindaThomas-Sundstorm. It’s not only packed with dark mystery and paranormal element, but it’s also packed with action and romantic in nature. I love the mystery, I love the descriptions and the world created by the author and I definitely love the interaction between the characters.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve read something like this. I enjoyed this book very much, and I would definitely recommend this book to all paranormal romance lovers out there.
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I received an ARC of this book from Harlequin Publisher via Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review for this book and I wasn’t compensated in any ways for writing this book.

Thomas-Sundstrom rocks emotion. When a drop of immortal blood saves Faith James from death, that blood also binds her to Mason LanVal, the immortal who gave it to her. Neither understands this. But the excitment begins when that drop of blood makes their attraction undeniable. The emotional roller coaster kept me interested until the very end. This story is deep, expressive and compelling, just what I was looking for.

Faith James, a young surgeon from Miami, goes to rural France in seach of her sister, Hope. Thinking she sees her sister, she crashes her car, steps in an animal trap, and sees her life change upon meeting Mason LanVal, Guardian of the Night.
Tense, exciting, and packed with action, this book was impossible to put down, and I highly recommend it. Linda Thomas-Sundstrom has written another fabulous book.

I loved this book. It is the story of a vampire that fights rogue vampires and other evil creatures. He meets a woman searching for her sister. This story has paranormal, mystery, suspense, and romance. Looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

Not bad vampire/werewolf paranormal romance drawing on Arturian legends as well as traditional vampire/werewolf lore. The world created is believable and interesting and the story is solid with a good villain. What isn't so great about this one is the characters and the emotions/motivating forces. The heroine is injured in an animal trap at the beginning. She remains incapacitated for almost the whole book, which makes her fairly passive. While we read of her strong mind and see things from her POV she doesn't actually do very much. We also have a "perfect" hero, trying to fight his attraction to the heroine because of his nobility. The romance is too fairytale and too based on lust to be wholly believable. Our hero gives the heroine a drop of his immortal blood at the beginning of the book and she craves him from then onwards - there isn't much emotional build, conversation, or reason for love to grow given here. Writing is a bit tell not show as well. Saying that the story is decently paced and exciting and there are some innovative uses of the werewolf/silver idea. I also like the fact that werewolves, vampires, werewolf hunters, vampire slayers and guardians (original vampires) are all distinct and different.

Read this last night after getting it a special Barnes and Noble book party. Stayed up to finish because I couldn't put it down. This is a fast-paced, sexy book. Guardian of the Night is smooth.
The blood knights are incredible immortals from the times of the round table that are still around today. This is Mason Lan Val's story. An immortal who has never veered from his original path, and whose loneliness after all that time is rewarded (with a lot of stumbling blocks getting in the way) by a chance meeting with a woman on a mission of her own in the French countryside. The book has something for everybody--- immortals, werewolves, hunters, vampires, and a couple with lots of heat. I read a lot of the Nocturne books, and this one is a stand-out. (I read parts of it twice).

In Thomas-Sundstrom’s paranormal romance, Mason LanVal is the immortal guardian created centuries ago to protect the purity of the vampire bloodline and fight those who abuse its power and hurt the innocent. He has spent lifetimes honoring his duty until the day he meets Faith James. Faith is searching for her missing sister and willing to do anything to find her. Seeking out Mason for help, instead she finds more questions about herself and her past. Discovering she is a trueborn Lycan, she is pulled to him and him to her. Their encounter sets in motion a passion they are unable to control.

I couldn't put this book down! So many twists and turns left me trying to figure out how there was ever going to be a happy ending! I really enjoyed all the characters in this story and hope to see some of them in the future.

This is book 3 in the blood knight chronicles. The first two books are golden vampire and immortal obsession. All though you don't have to start in book 1 as Linda Thomas-Sundstrom does recap over how they bacame blood knights and what their mission is I do recommend it.
Just when I think our blood knights can't get any better along comes the dashing Mason lanval. There is no waiting around in this book from the first chapter you are drawn into the action when he comes across faith James who is trapped in an animal trap set by the vampires in that area.
Faith James has come to France in search of her sister hope, this is how she ends up getting herself cought in a trap. As a doctor she knows her leg is badly hurt and starts to think she might not make it until Mason shows up and safes her life, at a great cost.
Faith has alot of hidden secrets to learn about herself, although as I don't want to spoil this brilliant read for you all so ill let you find out them for yourselfs.
Now drawn to Mason can faith resist the temptation, come to terms with her hidden family secrets and find her sister.
This is such a brilliant book Linda had me hooked from the start and I didn't want it to end. This might be my new favourite out of the blood knights series so far. Linda knows her supernatural and never dissapoints me. Her writing style is very easy to get into and I always find my imagination running away with me when I start to read her books.

Guardian of the Night, #3 in the Blood Knight Chronicles series, delivers yet another captivating story unique to the para-romance world. The Blood Knight series is based in a combination of mythologies resulting in a platform for vampires, slayers, werewolves, and werewolf hunters to exist born from legends of the holy grail, knights of the Arthurian era, and ancient bloodlines.
Faith James, our heroine, races to a France to search for her missing sister, Hope, only to find herself injured and dying in a remote forest. Enter the hero, Mason Lan Val, an immortal Blood Knight, who rescues Faith and takes a risk by giving her a drop of his blood to help her survive knowing only that she wasn't completely human. A drop of his blood would tie them together but the connection would dissipate - or so he thought. Their attraction to one another only strengthens as time passes. Mason takes Faith to a local healer, Andre, who also happens to be a werewolf and who recognizes her for what she really is: a werewolf from an ancient line, yet untapped and uneducated in her heritage. But what of Faith's sister, Hope? Hope has secrets of her own and has been abducted by a nest of rogue vampires. She's being used by their master for a personal quest: to lure a guardian to him. Why? Well you'll have to find that out for yourself :)
The book has plenty of twists, mystery, and entertainment. Once it draws you in, it's difficult to step away from it. Kudos to Linda for bringing an intriguing basis to the para romance genre.

Mason LanVal has spent lifetimes honoring his vows as one of the seven Blood Knights . He did without wavering in his fight , that all stopped the day that Faith James came crashing into his life . Faith James is in France to find her sister who is missing . They are own missions in life but they come together in a dark forest . With inherent genetic traits within Faith can either bring them closer together or rip them apart forever .
Mason LanVal what can we say about this man . He is honorable . broody . sexy and an immortal . One of seven that have been made to guard the HOLY GRAIL and to keep the bloodline pure. He takes his job seriously . You will love him just cause he is so sexy and you feel safe but also like you are prey when he looks at you . Faith James is a strong woman who has secrets that she really doesn't know she has . She is fierce and will do anything to get her sister back . There is more to her then everyone realizes . They are such a great couple and they do bring the heat and lots of it .
If you are looking for a light fluffy read this isn't the book for you . The author takes us on an emotional ride that will take you into the dark forests of France . This story is filled with characters that will drive you crazy and you will love at the same time . They are complex and oh so well written . The book contains intrigue , action and romance lots of romance . It will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time . I truly love reading these books and i know if you read them you would love them also . This is a story that will bring you in and keep you turning pages until the wee hours of the morning . So if you want a story full of intrigue and romance this is the book for you . Add it to your 2020 reading list .

An amazing story -- PNR genius. I love the author's world-building. She has a unique world of vamps and weres that draw the reader. The human half nudged by the otherworldly side makes the characters strong, moral (when they aren't the bad guys) and sexy as heck.
Faith is a surgeon in search of her younger sister who left a tour and has been lost a week. She is in an accident and trapped only to be rescued by someone who will become important in her life yet who can't be real--can he?
A mere human female (right?) with a devastating injury taken to a small cabin and a man who says he's a healer. The two men have something between them. Respect? Yes. But more and she can't figure it out. If she doesn't get to a hospital she'll lose her leg and maybe even if she does.
When things don't go as they should, when finding her sister is a complication rather than a goal, when what she's known her whole life isn't realty, when reality can't be true, Faith and the man she cares about begin changes.
The story is engrossing with surprises galore and sexual tension throughout. The end or is it a beginning is a surprise in itself. A wonderful read as are all of the author's PNR stories.

Not having enough of these Knights this one is centered around Mason. He began as a picture you expect of a Blood Knight but then things change to our delight as a reader when he and Faith's path cross. The things we do for family will also be pictured in here. We are also on a paranormal ride mixed with love the kind we thirst for when we open the pages knowing this is one author that delivers. It has the intensity we crave from the characters and the unfolding story. It will also has us catching our breath a time or two with the twists we adore to be given. You will devour it from beginning to end.

Mason LanVal is one of the Seven Immortal Knights created to protect the Holy Grail and the world from Vampires.
He finds Faith James in France looking for her sister. She is injured and he must save her. But she is different and he does not know why. Her scent, her blood is not normal for a human, He is not sure what she is.
He knows he must protect the Immortal bloodline, but is drawn to her and her to him. Can they find her sister, and save the town from an unspeakable evil?
Great new read by Linda as she continues this series. Can't wait for the next Blood Knight book.

Mason and Faith cross destinies in an unlikely set of events.
Faith is trying to track her sister down, and is told that Mason might could help her. When Faith and Mason meet, he instantly becomes her unwitting savior. Her blood sings to him in a song he hasn't heard in a millenia.
Being a Guardian has hardened Mason's heart until he senses something in Faith that breaks down the barriers that have gone up around his soul.
Faith has a little extra something in her blood and it's going to change her life.

Mason and Faith were great characters! Faith was a strong character and when things happen she works to find out what happened to her sister not realizing that there are creatures out there. This story had vampires and werewolves and Mason. Mason is a Knight who had the original blood and didn't hunt humans but vampires who had no morals about human life or other. Lots of action and plenty of romance. Loved it!

This series just keeps getting better! I won’t write a synopsis of the book but I will say that watching Mason’s reactions to Faith and her reactions to him is priceless. The twists and turns in this book had me staying up late. I couldn’t put it down. This book is everything you could hope for as a reader, not only is the story amazing but the writing is superb. The author has such a way with words and setting up scenes you feel one with the characters. This is a must read if you love PNR.

I really liked Guardian of the Night, this was my favorite so far in the Blood Knight Chronicles. Plenty of suspense and lots of angst between Faith and Mason. My favorite part was when Mason went up against Lord Lianour. The ending was pretty amazing. I also loved the werewolves. Looking forward to continuing with this series.
I give Guardian of the night 4 stars for its well written story.
I would recommend this book to Paranormal Fans.

This was a very dark book, but it was one that kept you reading and it had a great story line. The author wrote this book with a lot of heart you can tell. Vampire books are not always the easiest to write and this author really did a great job to show both side of the life of a vampire and humans...

I loved this book. Obviously I couldn’t put it down because I finished it in two days. The story line kept me reading and I’m so in love with Mason and Faith.
