The Fallen World #3

Victory or Death

Rate this book
The battle is won, but the war rages on.

Alexandra has survived the Republic's kidnapping attempt, and it has only reinforced her conviction. She must build up her forces and create an army vast enough that no one will ever dare to attack again.

Or, failing that, an army large enough to eradicate her enemies no matter where they run.

Meanwhile, her two noble allies are finding themselves in a delicate position. Their dungeon town, although prosperous, is threatened from all sides, and they are forced to make more and more unsavory alliances to stay ahead of their foes.

And lurking in the shadows, the mysterious Order that slew Alexandra sets its plans into motion…

Book three

Another good story in this series. Don't be expecting some deep work here. It's just some good fun.
Seems like the majority of the characters are female and gay. While there is nothing graphic it is there so consider this a warning and if you have a problem with it go read something else.
If however you have read the first two books then you already know this and can enjoy this one as well.
At the time of this review there are four books published and more can be found on Royalroad.
Found a couple of mistakes that I will post on Goodreads.
Both the town and the dungeon get destroyed. Don't worry everyone survived. This will give the author a lot more leeway in were things will go. I'm looking forward to what comes next.

KU Review

No idea why I keep blazing through these. While certainly full of action, it’s a lot more kingdom politics and city management than I expect from a core novel. Feel like we’re still barely scratching the surface of the story and I have to see what happens next.

5 Shall Be Known As Rebirth Stars

Victory or Death is the third book the Dungeon Core Fantasy series by Alex S. Weber.

I think, but I am not perfectly sure that the Order thinks the Dungeon Core calling itself Crystal is one of their people? Which is absolutely hilarious if it's true because it appears they expect the dungeon core to be the anchor of their entire plan? Although, it could be more horrifying in a different context. There is that hidden processing that seems to be deleting Alexandra's memories, which could possibly even mean that Lesly is somehow hidden behind her core? I don't even understand why hiding her presence behind a second artificial core would be necessary?

Beyond mere speculation, I am glad we finally see some of the plans the Order has been orchestrating behind the curtain.

The advancement and developments surrounding the Dubgeon Factory have been truly fascinating. Especially the new golem creations Alex has imagined and implemented. Besides that, I truly enjoy the building camaraderie and almost family adjacent bond building between dungeon core, advisor, and boss. Having two varying vampire maids of death to add to their forces has definitely kept things interesting.

On a completely different note: The ruins beneath the dungeon have begun to awaken... What this will mean for Alexandra, and if there is any hope of allying with this abandoned system, is truly unknown.

Two concerns trouble me the most; we have yet to make any progress on discovering leads towards her previous party, and the hidden aspect of Alexandra's mind truly worries me about the future.

Also, I am 100% not happy about the hidden Agents in their midst.

good book, too many storyline threads, want to see the dungeon grow technologically.

If you have a problem with unconventional relationships, such as LBGT, then this book is not for you. If you have no problem with this issue, then the book is very well done. The only quibble I have is that the MC, a.k.a. the dungeon does not use all of her engineering capabilities Since she is supposed to be an engineering genius. At least that’s in my opinion. The additional characters are well done, and the story is sprawling and very interesting. in my opinion there are too many story threads that convolute the story and take time away from the MC and her immediate group of side characters. I would like to see the dungeon grow, become mobile, and become more tech technologically sufficient to the world around her. Going on to read the next book in the series and decide if I will continue with the additional four books. It’s a good book, but not quite a five.

This book series has been updating this "to do" list forever, but I'm not seeing stuff being taken off the list.

This is turning into more of a political intrigue than building stuff from scratch. It's annoying seeing a so called engineer not being able to go wild with magic.
The "to do list" and not building technical marvels out of thin air really soured me on this book.

The town leader also mentioning breasts so much was annoying.

I hope next book has an increase in actual development.

Great LitRPG/Isekai series!!

One of my favorite series in the LitRPG/Isekai genre (BTW, Kindle Unlimited hates me... 150+books, mostly LitRPG/Isekai, read this year) I really like the fact that the author acknowledges the progression/cultivation infrastructure without the oppressive repetitive nurimification of levels and spells/skills. Seriously can't wait for the next book!!

A mediocre dungeon book

This is all about political intrigue. The dungeon aspect is far in second place. The POV shifting continually does not allow for any complex story to be fully explained. This is told in short bursts that quickly get old.

The plot thickens

We finally start to learn more about the group behind Alexandra's murder and being turned into a dungeon core, and their plans.

She is starting to make plans of her own, but some are in line with the plans of her enemy, though she doesn't know it, yet...

Darn good

This series while not very crunchy or litrpgish with statuses and numbers and such is still a great dungeon core story so far.
