WHAT THIS BOOK HAS GOING FOR IT:

* Franklin can tell a story! - Just like his dad, he can tell a good story. There were times when I felt like I was there in the midst of war torn countries or in the Oval Office or in the mountains of West Virginia. It just really gripped me and his stories were great.
* Pictures in the middle of the book - Not many books do that anymore, but I liked that I could see the faces of the people in the stories he was telling.
* Lots of Scriputre - Everything he talks about is laced with Scripture - always great!

SOME DOWNFALLS:

* Feels like it doesn't go anywhere - Though the stories and lessons were great, they didn't seem to have a cohesive aspect that led you through the book. Instead they were random stories with random lessons. Made it kinda hard for me to takeaway 2-3 central thoughts.
* Not sure what audience it is reaching to - Through the book he switches back and forth in tones between talking to committed Christians and then back to those who don't yet know Christ.

ONE GREAT QUOTE:
"Just as God never closes His eyes, we should keep our eyes open in order that God can help us go beyond the limits of our human frailties. Satan is always trying to rob us of these moments of availability" --- Soooo Good!

Hope this helps. It inspired me with these stories of faith and I found myself praying more as I read this book, both for the people in the book and those around me that it reminded me of.

Let's just say that I read this one out of 'convenience.' There is nothing spectacular or special about this book... No 'aha' moments or anything like that... Just some stuff this guy has done in his life, and the only reason that he has done any of these things is b/c he is evangelist Billy Grahams' son.

Expect to read about missionary miracles as well as to be encouraged in many aspects of modern life.

Living Beyond the Limits is a great follow-up or companion piece to Franklin Graham's previous work, Rebel With A Cause. There is a better writing style from the author. Also, readers will enjoy that Franklin seems to take a style queue from his father's preaching playbook in that he has definitely added many great quotes from Scripture.

Many missionary and medical stories. The final chapters are a good, compelling presentation of the Gospel message. Five stars!

I know I read this book over 20 years ago; the adventure in helping the needy and sharing Jesus is so well portrayed in this book. If you want exciting action, and tender blessed moments, you will not be disappointed. It’s great to reread books like this one years later, knowing how God has continued to work in the life of the Graham family in very positive and substantial ways to share His love literally all over the world.

We’ve read most of Billy Graham’s books, and tried this one. It’s good, but it’s not Billy. Close though! And worth the time to read as it offers interesting stories and support to help one ‘live beyond the limits’ of what we think we can do!.

Faith in what God can do is just amazing as long as you believe and listen to Him. It's so uplifting when you can read stories and such on people living and doing what God's Word tells us. From a elderly woman that throughout believing she could help other children poorer then her hometown children. Visiting a President and his family, going to other countries during their wars to tell the good news of the gospel. Franklin Graham goes to the war countries and help the people and others missionaries. You don't think you can make it then God always finds a way as long as you stay in the Word God will use you for His Glory.
I give this book 5 star's I like the way Mr. Graham writes all the chapters are very interesting and you can just imagine how it was and sometimes is in these countries. Great reading material.

From the lives of “ordinary” people, Franklin Graham inspires and motivates his readers to live an extraordinary life. Each chapter is a new story – so this book can be easily read at intervals as night time reading or when traveling. From America, to the Middle East, to Africa – these stories will truly inspire you to “live beyond the limits.” Highly recommended.

While I'm not generally a fan of Franklin Graham and his method of teaching Christianity, I did read this book. Graham does an awesome job challenging the reader to live "beyond the limits" in pursuit of a closer walk with the Father. His personal stories get the reader's attention and make the book much more worthwhile!

I don't always agree with Franklin Graham's theology, but I appreciate his passion. He can tell a great story that draws the reader in.
