My Review: A bit of an oldie but a goodie. There are a few books out there about kids loosing their teeth but not nearly enough. Munchkin is approaching that time so I figured we better get to reading some of them. This was a great Level One early reader book, lots of sight words and easy words to sound out. The sentences were simple and with plenty of repetition and rhymes. Munchkin enjoyed the story and it does take some of the fear out of loose teeth and makes it something to look forward to instead.

The only reason I put 3 stars is because my 3 year old is crazy about this book! Proof that what kids like and what adults like in picture books is not the same thing. She's already had 2 teeth fall out (not because she's at that age, but because she bashed her mouth in and they came out later), so she realllly relates to the cute little girl in the story. We've read it so many times she has all the words memorized. Probably the first book she's memorized.

The reading age for this book is five and six years olds. I think it can be read from pre-k to first grade. I would chose this book for the classroom because losing a tooth happens to all elementary students. The children will like this book because its funny and it has nice pictures. They will be able understand what happens when the tooth falls out.

Given to Harper by her grandmother

Not the most engaging story, in my opinion. Plus, I don't think we are going to do the whole "tooth fairy" thing. Easter Bunny and Santa Claus, yes. But Tooth Fairy, probably not.

My Tooth Is About to Fall Out by Grace Maccarone is about a girl worried about losing her tooth and contemplates the different places she could lose it. While she worrying about it, however, her tooth falls out and she explores the sensation of what if feels like to have an empty space in her teeth. In the end she determines that she does not mind losing her baby teeth. This book is a great book for readers who are starting to read on their own, with lots of pictures and only a few words for the page. This book would also be great for young students since it explores the topic of losing teeth, and many children start losing teeth in kindergarten. Scholastic recommends this book for students in kindergarten through second grade.

This book was a cute book that reminded me of the days of losing a tooth and the anticipation that came with it. This book is perfect for transitional readers. The pictures helped the writing but wasn't dominating the text. Kindergartners or preschoolers would love to listen to this book being read aloud and then read by themselves. The plot is perfect for their age and they can relate to the character about losing a tooth. A teacher would read this to teach sight words and to teach students the basics of reading.

This was a boring not well thought out book. It's supposed to be a level 1 but is really a level 2. The words, though few, are definately level 2 or 3. (jiggles, swimming, spaghettie, tongue, through, tonight, underneath) There is only one sentence every couple of pages,(maybe that's why they called it a level 1?) and pictures abound. It's better used as a read-to-the-kid than a kid-can-read-alone but then it's way too short for that. Super short. And boring. My son couldn't be bothered.

This is a fun story for beginning readers. Most children who read this Level 1 (probably could be a Level 2) book are probably at about the same age as the little girl and are likely experiencing losing their first baby teeth. This is a tale they can relate to. The illustrations are colorful and expressive and complement the story nicely. Our youngest really likes this story and we enjoyed reading it together.

A little girl’s tooth is loose. It wobbles and it wiggles! She goes through her day worried about how it will fall off and where. She does not want to lose it. At suppertime it falls out in her spaghetti! She finds it in her bowl, puts it under her pillow, and finds some coins under her pillow in the morning when she wakes up. I can use this in my elementary school classroom because they will be able to relate. They will be losing teeth at the same time.

I'm sure as an elementary teacher, especially in the younger grades, I will be dealing with students losing teeth. This book has lots of rhyming words and even gives some factual information about teeth. It also helps show students that it is perfectly normal for them to lose teeth and at random times. Also, this book has a wonderful note for parents to help their children become better readers. This book is recommended for children preschool through 1st grade.

This story is about a little girl who has a loose tooth. She’s wondering when is it going to fall out. She’s wondering, “When is it going to fall out?” She doesn’t want it to fall out at the wrong time. This book is great for children who are learning how to read. There are rhyming words and contraction words.

What happens if your tooth falls out? Why does your tooth fall out. This simplistic story explains in easy to understand terms why a tooth falls out. Very easy reader. Great book for kindergarteners.

My 6 year old son hated this book. This was on his to read shelf (yes, he has a FULL to read shelf and a full already read shelf!) and he was about to lose his fourth tooth, so the process was nothing new to him. We read this simple story together once and then he gave the book away.

Upon reading this book, we discovered that two of my son's teeth are loose. It provoked a helpful conversation about losing teeth.
