This book is a collection of excellent mysterious stories from the Deep South told in lovely prose.

This book is not a collection of ghost stories. Some don’t even have ghosts in them.

So if you’re looking for some tales combining Southern history and mysterious events, this is an enjoyable read. If you’re looking for some spooky tales to get goosebumps shivering up your spine, better look elsewhere.

I used to read the original books when I lived in Alabama during my elementary school years. This brought back memories for me.
