Chicken, Pig, and Cow have always gotten along well—until the day Girl builds a big city out of blocks. Thinking something is missing, Chicken makes a leaf statue. Now the city is perfect. Pig loves zipping and zooming around the city. Chicken warns him to be careful, but Pig is having too much fun to listen. Then the inevitable happens: Pig zooms right into Chicken’s statue, destroying it. Chicken is furious! Pig’s attempts to fix the statue only make matters worse. In the end, he demolishes the entire city. Realizing what a mess he’s made, Pig hides while Chicken, Cow, and Dog rebuild the city. After a nap, Pig feels better and returns to apologize to his friends. They forgive him and invite him to join them in putting the finishing touches on the city. As with all the books in this popular series, Chicken, Pig, Cow’s First Fight offers young children a gentle message about teamwork and cooperation.

This was another good story by Ruth Ohi. My favorite part of this book was the illustrations. It's a great story for our younger readers about how sometimes our friends can upset us but that doesn't stop them from being your friend!
I have added this book to my library.
Thank you to NetGalley and Annick Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Chicken, Pig, and Cow are best friends, but that doesn't mean they never have disagreements. When Pig knocks over a statue that Chicken has made, and only makes things worse when he tries to fix it, he ends up hiding while Chicken and Cow make the repairs. He takes a nap and feels better, and then goes and apologizes to Chicken, and they are all friends again.
I borrowed my neighbor's 3 year old daughter to read to and she really liked the story and the illustrations. I think the message that it's okay to make mistakes as long as you apologize is one that all little ones need to hear. Because of this, I highly recommend this book, and give it 5/5 stars.
I received a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion.
Gotta give all these Chicken, Pig Cow books 4 stars because my 3.5 year old LOVES them. Nothing much happens but they’re cute and sometimes something just resonates for a kid, right?
Cute series about three friends getting into various mild adventures in and out of the house. This one has a fight that doesn’t totally make sense and a resolution where they accept eachother as they are but without being scmaltzy about it.
Chicken, Pig and Cow’s First Fight by Ruth Ohi * I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
This is a book about three friends going through their first fight. They are all playing in the city of blocks when one of the friends knocks them all down. He leaves the other’s to clean up his mess but in the end, he is forgiven.
The three toys are best friends and always get along until they have their first big fight. They each have their own personalities that make them unique. Pig makes a mess and runs away scared to hide. His friends are left to clean up the mess so that dog isn’t blamed. He didn’t like his friends mad at him and apologized.
This is a cute book that teaches children that even friends can have disagreements; you always have to say “I’m sorry” when you are wrong. The story has a wonderful message supported by beautiful illustrations. Young children will love it.
Lilly and I give Chicken, Pig and Cow’s First Fight 3½ Stars.

I received an electronic ARC of this book to review from Netgalley (www.netgalley.com).
Chicken, Pig and Cow are back in Ruth Ohi's picture book series. These best friends have never had a fight. One morning Girl builds an impressive city, but Chicken thinks something is missing and creates a chicken statue. Pig is just a little too excited and goes zooming through the city, knocking down Chicken's statue. Chicken is mad at Pig for not being careful and Pig is mad at Chicken for being in the way. Will these two friends settle their differences?
This is the perfect book to introduce preschoolers to the concept that friends won't always get along. While the original book is probably my favorite, I love seeing these toys interact like real people and I believe preschoolers will be able to relate to them. This story will enjoyed in story time settings as well as one-on-one readings.
A cute story that completely caught me off guard. To start with, the characters are toys not barnyard animals. They were far too cute, I just wanted to pinch some little plastic cheeks (they look like fisher price toys). Girl has made a city out of blocks. Chicken, Pig, and Cow want to play. Chicken builds a statue out of leaves but Pig wants to zip and zoom. Can you guess what happens? Sadly, Pig made a mess and left his friends to clean it up. It’s a rather sweet tale and one that would make a lovely addition to any young reader’s library.
Chicken, Pig and Cow are the best of friends. They have never disagreed about anything. And they have certainly never had a fight before. Then one day as they are exploring the city that Girl built they start thinking about only themselves. This leads to a fight and hurt feelings all around. Thankfully in the end they team up to right their wrongs. Everyone apologizes and is forgiven. This is a simple book about the basics of what can lead to a fight and the consequences of such behavior. It is not the best written book, but it will get the point across to small children.
Chicken, Pig, and Cow have always gotten along until one very bad day where it all fell apart. I like how the author shows how a fight can go from bad to worse. Here we not only see but feel the guilt that Pig feels, the frustration of the others, and still the caring to come around and help Pig through it all. Excellent way to open a dialogue with your children about how to deal with things when they go wrong.
Perfect story for your little ones who can't seem to agree with their friends about anything. I love it teachers the kids that friends can have disagreements and still be friends. That saying I'm sorry when they are wrong is the right thing to do. The illustrations are wonderful and my little ones loved looking at the pictures while I read. Have they started to say I'm sorry better? Nope but stories like these help parents teach wonderful lessons. Advance Copy from Netgalley
I love the illustrations in this book, but they couldn't save it from the story which was a total dud. There was no fight. Chicken,Pig and Cow were playing when Pig annoys Chicken then starts acting like a jerk. Pig comes back with a lousy apology and that's that. There wasn't actually a fight and Cow had nothing to do with it. It's actually amazing how much is wrong with this short book. Blech.
When Girl builds a block city, Chicken makes it perfect by adding a statue. Along comes Pig, zipping, zapping, and zooming--until he smashes into Chicken's statue, destroying it--and the city. He gets angry and goes off in a huff. Will the friends be able to put the city together again, and will they be able to rebuild their friendship?
Nice basic story. Three friends (toys) have a fight, but in the end work together to make things right. The pictures are bright, the words simple. Truthfully, the most unique thing to me about this was the lovely sturdy stitched binding, complete with cloth reinforcement. You don't see that on most books these days!
This one has a bit more of a lesson tied in with the adventure. But it is a good lesson for kids. They need to know sometimes they have bad moods and bad actions may result if they're not careful. But they aren't bad. Especially if they change the mood and try to fix the results of the bad actions.
This book is the perfect book to teach children how to make up after having an argument. That a "fight" isn't the end of an friendship. I ejoyed how in the end everyone worked together to fix the city. A great book to show cooperation & friendship.
Three good friends explore a play city. All is fun until one of them gets angry and makes a big mess. He goes away to calm down while his friends help clean up the mess. Sweet story of friendship, bad moods, and forgiveness, with a cute cow!

This is a sweet little story about friends who get in a fight, and how they make up. A nice tale of friendship and teamwork for young children. The story is engaging, and the illustrations nice to look at.
I received a copy of this to peruse through NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.
I really have enjoyed this series. I wish the "fight" would have been a little more clear.. or obvious. I love how the friends make up at the end and help each other rectify the problem. I love that the "angry" feeling is named, too.
Honestly, I thought this one was kind of stupid, but I guess it would be a good one to have on hand when your kid has their first squabble with a friend.
