holy friggin shit this book is nuts. The author introduces us to the four foods we will need to stockpile to survive in a bomb shelter: (powdered) milk, honey, wheat and salt. It is an APOCALYPSE COOKBOOK okay? I got it at a rummage sale and I cannot take it seriously. The recipes blow. Two stars for audacity.

Quite impressive are the recipes for all the dishes she could make with just wheat, powdered milk, honey, and salt (i.e. the foods that if stored properly last nearly forever). The rest of the book pretty outdated.

If there is only one book you buy on food storage and preparedness...this is it!!!! So basic yet so necessary to know. Only four life sustaining foods and you're set to be able to make over 100 recipes. love this book!!!

I've read it, dog-eared it, written in it, tried most everything and learned tons. Love it! Wish I had a pocket version!
