An enjoyable trip through time! Some of the things that people used to write about still apply (birthdays, weddings, get-well wishes), and some are out of date (asking for help placing a poor orphan in a boarding school, or donations to a bazaar, or references for a servant). There are quite a few different ways to ask for money, it seems! Even the letters of complaint are rendered charming by the archaic, flowery language. The same sentiments expressed today would be more plainly put.

I thought this would be a fun little old-fashioned read, but it's just a boring reprint of an old letter writing guide.
