Helen Schucman, a Professor of Medical Psychology at Columbia University, responded to an authoritative inner voice who urged her to take down what would become A Course in Miracles. This volume answers all the integral questions, from what Helen Schucman was really like to why the material was transmitted through her.
I'm not really sure how I feel about this book. It is the story of how Helen Schucman was inspired to write the papers that became "A course in Miracles. Her growing up was really sad to me. It seems she had very little contact with her parents especially her father. She was seeking religion all her life and latched on to others beliefs but had none of her own. Apparently voices spoke to her and she wrote down what they said. To me this is bordering on Schizophrenia but it appears the stories she tells and things she wrote were uplifting and worth taking a look at. I do want to read "A Course in Miracles".
A fast, engaging read for anyone involved in making A Course in Miracles a direction in their lives. It answers the 'how did the manuscript come about' questions in a succinct fashion.
