2 books in one. Enjoyed "The Genuine article" more. Great Heroine. Lots of misunderstandings. An American cousin as the Marqeuss.Marian must marry for money and tries to be sweet and biddable, but her intelligence keeps coming out. The right couples win out. Very enjoyable light reading.' Mad maria's daughter" suffers from her mother's suicide, but when she gives up London society, she finds adventure with a highwayman. She is also intelligent and ferrets out a mystery, that is not really solved, but fun none the less. I always enjoy Patricia Rice.These are early works, 1992 and 1994, and it always fun to read earley works!

parts of these two books were great, and parts of them were simply too farfetched; but all in all they were both fun reads.
