10 books1 followerWilliam Shuler Harris (1865–1956) was an American Evangelical minister, author, and social commentator. Born in New Columbia, Pennsylvania, he entered the ministry in 1888 and served churches in Pennsylvania and Kansas before retiring in 1939.
Harris wrote widely on religion, morality, social reform, and the problems of industrial society. His writing frequently combined Christian allegory, satire, speculative fiction, and social criticism.
Harris remained active as a writer and minister into old age and was also a keen chess player. He died in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in 1956, aged 90.

Had to give up on this one....the man had a wonderful imagination but I ended up laughing even when I tried to tell myself it is Fantasy. If you need some good giggles, try this one and see if you get any further than Mars.

Given the fact that when this was written almost nothing was known about the other planets. The author had a vivid imagination with a few good ideas, but the story is spoiled by his obviously religious beliefs.
