Little Pink Pig should be headed for bed, but his mom can't find him and he doesn't hear each time she calls. Little Pink Pig's mother recruits the other farm animals to help her find Little Pink Pig so he can go to bed.

This was picked out by my four year old niece who loves animals and has a thing for farm animal stories. She seemed to like the story. It follows a pattern, includes animal noises, and along the way Little Pink Pig makes quite the mess which little readers should find funny. The pattern and repetition is good for kids building reading skills, and animal lovers should like all the barnyard animals.

A cumulative tale as Mother pig calls for Little Pink pig as it is time to go to bed. Little Pinl Pig never hears her as he falls into mishap after mishap. At last all the barnyard animals make Little Pink Pig hear them.

This book is about a mama pig trying to get her baby pig into bed. She keeps looking for him, but not hearing him when he calls her as he gets stuck underneath something. She gathers up other animals to help her find him to get him into bed. They all eventually find him.
This book was okay. It was boring, and extremely repetitive. This would be a book more for a younger age group. They would find it more interesting, and funny. I do love the illustrations.
This book will be going into my library for my little ones!

I am surprised again about how well received this was in toddler time. Hutchins always seems to hit the right tone for young children. 11/4/11

I've used this in both farm & pig storytimes.

Too long for lap time. 11/7/12

Used in Lap Time because the other books I requested didn't come, and it went over okay this time.
