THIS WAS SO FUN !!!
a night with the wedding party partnered into teams to complete things like a maze and escape rooms etc on an island in a grand house? with mystery and secrets + lots of spice ???? YES PLEASE
so interesting, i was intrigued and hooked from the beginning, i have never read anything like this before
i think its best to go in blind but expect SPICE and an entertaining evening that begins with a strip tease ;)
a wild ride and that cliff hanger??? im excited for book 2!!!

I absolutely devoured this book. Literally I finished it in one day.
Charlotte keeps you utterly captive with her writing. The plots moves swiftly and at a perfect pace for the story. Evie and James are so much fun to learn about while reading, they stole my heart and ran away to hid it in the hedge maze. IYKYK.
The twists and turns this story took left me stunned and the banter was spectacular.
Book Two is going to be a killer! 💋

this story follows evelyn and james the maid of honor and the best man to their best friend's wedding but before the big day the bride and the groom decided to do these big tournament/challenge to the bridesmaids and the groomsmen, it was unique and challenging and fun and hot and made them all come together, get to know each other, their partners, and also have fun but for evie and james was more than that, they were paired for a reason and i really liked their development and connection they created, jenna, the bride, had all planned out and to be honest what a genius ehehe
both evie and james have their own demons, specially evie and the way they got close to each other was actually really great, evie is a little bit nerdy and also so caring and introverted, the games helped open up and be free then james is just a gentleman and also nerd and cute but at the same time what a dirty mouth he has uhuhuh
i had fun with this book, it was different, a little bit cliche but wow I want expecting to be this spicy, good for them, they found their match to be honest!!
for me the love between the! happened too fast, i get the insta lust and the connecting and james wanted to know evie more and evie wanted to know james even more too and getting a real connection between them but the love itself? i don't know it happen fast and if you like insta love go for it, i think the book is fun and is truly unique because of the challenge and the whole escape rooms and mysteries, i liked the characters and the spice took me by surprise in a good way just.... the love i don't know, it doesn't feel really realistic to me when it happens too fast!!
overall i really liked it, i will recommend and I think if it's something you think will interest you, give it a change, the writing is good, james has a dirty mouth and evie is so strong and cute, go read it!! also Jenna was a fun character too i really liked her friendship with evie also keith i liked him too a lot, he needs his own book!! and that ending, what the hell???

I'm gonna begin by admitting that Charlotte's writing is absolutely lyrical. It was easy to follow, so much so that I finished the book on the SAME DAY! (trust me, that almost never happens)
Here's a sneak-peak to the setting:

☞ Evelyn (referred to as evie/eves) is a tall, beautiful, green-eyed woman with legs for days. She's relatable to a fault, quotes Shakespeare, and loves Elvis (who doesn't?). I absolutely loved her from the first chapter! She has a traumatic past with her dad, and has been made mentally self-conscious by her ex.
☞ James is again, a tall, nerd with a framed-glasses-perched-on-his-nose look. He shares Eves love for books and hear me out - WORKS AT NASA! The moment he laid eyes for Eves, he's gone for. Let's just muster up James' personality by saying he's the greenest green flag to ever walk the planet's face.
As for the plot, the book was fast-paced, thrilling and the smut was to die for! (phew, that adam's apple scene?) I'm never looking at strawberries the same by the way (✿◠‿◠)
James and Evelyn are attending their friends' common bachelor/bachelorette party on an island, where their friends (the bride&groom) have organised a weekend full of games, and of course, James and Eves are paired together as partners. I loved the setting of the book, it was well defined, I could easily imagine how the island and the house looked, it was hat-tipping detail tbh.
The banter, the sex, the flirting was all so fun, I even chuckled out loud at some scenes, it was cute. The couple had chemistry, no doubt, and I thoroughly enjoyed their sexy-times.
⇢ Now, why I took away a star:
insta lust is something I can understand, you see someone and you're attracted to them, yes, happens to the best of us. Insta love? I'm not saying it's not my cup of tea, the problem was the pacing of their love - I don't honestly see how two people who've known each other for <24 hrs fall in love with the "you're my world" sort of love. I mean?? seems a bit unrealistic.
TWs: graphic violence and sexually explicit scenes
Warning from the author: the epilogue ends on a cliffhanger, if you want to enjoy this as a standalone, please skip the epilogue.

I didn't know what to expect from this book, but I adored it since the beginning.
the bachelorette/bachelor thing was amazing, and I never read anything like that, and that leads us to the forced proximity between Evie and James, our main characters.
I loved reading both POVs cause that allows you to understand better the characters and they didn't disappoint me, in fact, I have a serious crush on James! And Evie was such an amazing heroine and I can't wait to know more about her and what will happen, because yes, this book ends in a cliffhanger, so maybe you want to wait until the second one is out, but if not... JUNE 14TH is your day to read EvieJames story!

Amazing! I blushed every 5 seconds while reading this book!
I read this in less then a day, the writing is easy to track and keep up with. I enjoyed the premises of it, a fun night without shame and judgment for a mixed Bachelorette/bachelor's party.
Ou main characters, James and Evie, have allot of layers to peel and go absolutely feral for each other.
It's a very sexy book not gonna lie, but not cringy sexy! The sexy we dig sexy! I might have found a new kink 🥲.
I do think the pacing was way to fast and bit unbelievable for the story, we deal with allot oh heavy topics for basically 24 hours of plot, allot roller coasting emotions happening without breaks.
The book deals with PTSD and assault so beware of triggers.
That ending, what...why...? Book 2? Please?

Okay but the set up of this whole book was just so exciting and thrilling.The game night and the slowly building tension??
I read this book within a day, because the story as well as the characters interested me very much and I just couldn't put the book down.
Evie did not have an easy past. Through her past she suffers from a kind of trauma and the thought of not opening up too much emotionally to others. In itself, Evie is rather a somewhat quiet person and prefers to put people at peace instead of saying something. She is a people pleaser
James is hot, a bit nerdy and he would do anything for his beloved ones. If a person is important to him, he doesn't doubt the person a bit and supports them in all things.
When both characters first met because of the game night and are assigned as a joint team, it was clear that they both have a bit more than just friendly desire for each other. The game night is making both of them walk the narrow path of their desire and the adrenaline of the games.
Soon the desire and adrenaline become one but how long it takes for things to get a little rough and dirty, is a very good question.

This was a great read. Started out so intriguing and kept my interest throughout the entire book! Lots of big vocabulary words (so I did learn while reading some smut) lol!

I had the honor to receive the ARC of this book!
In the beginning, I was a little skeptical about this book, BUT there was a twist in the story and BOOM I was like what the actual heck is going on!
Chapter 18 and the Epilogue confused me for real! BUT man I want the next book to see what happens because it was a long time ago since a book made me feel like this one.
The only thing that bothers me is the love confession between Evie and James I think it’s a little bit rushed, but I think it’s just me who thinks this.
When this book comes out, please RUN and read it!

A SOLID 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
First and foremost, i want to thank Charlotte for choosing me and trusting me be one of her ARC readers.
And i am beyond grateful for that because let me tell yall, i did not expect her to write such an amazing book with such serving plots and dramas, THAT TOO for a first time author‼️🤌✨
There are of course few conversations which kind of cringe me but i could definitely overlook it as every book has those kinds of stuffs and i also kept in mind that it was her first ever book and definitely remembered the tropes.
I loved how this book was not a drag! It’s definitely mildly kinky with the right amount of spice🥵🌶️
James had me wetting my panties w his adorable nerdiness and his shy persona but at the same time w his lusty dark sexy persona. It did threw me off when he confessed that he loves her after spending not even 24 hours w Evie but then i pacified that when Evie had the same thought lmao and c’mon even in Before Sunrise movie they fell in love instantly.
AND DID I MENTION JAMES WORKS IN NASA‼️‼️‼️
ANDDD EVIE IS A STRIPPERRRRE🥵🥵🥵🥵
AND OMGOSH, Char’s song and book mentions were to die for 💖🤌💋
I love the description of the manor. It fits so well w the games they’re playing. I am still in awe how Char plotted the whole Maze and Hide and Seek game. Even the first few games and the ice breaker was GENIUS.
She really nailed her first book. And i am not saying this because i was given the opportunity to ARC read her book but it’s truly amazing and a beautiful work she has done w the book. I really hope this book blows up and people get to read it because it’s so so sooo good. It has everything! DRAMA, ROMANCE, SPICE, TRAUMA, THRILL, ADVENTURE, GAMES

Okay, Where do I even begin? Is there even a need to explain why am I giving this one a 5 stars? I am crazy for this book, like for real? The story? Just chef's kiss ✨, the storyline is so different from anything I have ever read. A perfect story between two people who go from Strangers to Partnerz? To...lovers? And the end- Charlotte!!!! let me start by saying that i absolutely admire the author's writing style!! the plot and the characters truly hooked me right away. i had never read anything like this before, so it was totally new to me. i had quite of shocking moments while reading this.
evie’s past. the cliffhanger. the plot twist that i had never seen coming.
a lot transpired in a single night.
the mysteries and the games?? WILD.
the slow growing tension between james and evie was on point and it’s killing meeee.
this book was definitely spicy, which i DID NOT expect 👀
the plot moves along quite quickly, but if you're looking for a mystery, dark, and spicy book, i'd recommend giving this one a try!! because it served 🫡

my fave part was the whole concept of the pre-wedding party combined with a game night where the bachelors and bachelorettes paired up??!!! INSANE.
it was so fun, but at the same time the tension of evie and james had me all blushing🤭❤️🔥
i LOVED the spice and this part was definitely a 5/5🌶️
i didn't expect the story to unravel like this and it definitely surprised me with the heavy trauma she has... but i especially loved her and jennas relationship through it all🥺
i'm so curious to see where this story will take us and i already can't wait for the sequel even though this book isn't out yet (june 14th save the date!)

i literally have no words!! this book was so fun and i really enjoyed it. when her bestfriend is hosting a wedding party in a manor and they get partnered up with strangers and play mini games leading up to the wedding. the book was a bit spicy than i thought but overall it was fun

This story was absolutely incredible from beginning to end. The author paints a wonderful image of who the characters are, the environment they are in and what’s going on from the very first page. This story will take you on a journey through your emotions. This story was like a was like a piece of mint gum for my brain, spicy, refreshing and all around pleasant. I am anxiously awaiting the release of the next installment of the series!

This book was EVERYTHING!!
It served everything that could be asked for 🫶
The story of this book is something else. I have never read a book where most of the story was all in one night, but I guess I became a fan. The characters were amazing. James and Evie have a special place in my heart. The book gave strangers to lovers, cute games (🤭), love, friendship and much more. I loved every part of it and the last chapter... OMG 😍 The epilogue left me craving the next book. My favourite part of the book was the love and understanding that grew between the main characters. Congrats, Charlotte, this book is perfect 🤍✨️

This book was unlike anything I have read before, so good. The whole concept with the wedding party games was so interesting and it kept me on my toes all way through the book. The overall storyline was really fun and I loved the FMC Evie so much, she was so sweet and kinda a mystery which made me wanna keep reading. I also liked that the whole story took place during one night and that you never knew what was coming next.
The cliffhanger at the end nearly floored me and it set up the story very well for book 2. I definitely wanna read more about Evie and James and see how their story ends. Also the fact that Evie was the maid of honor and James was the best man made way for the perfect pairing and their wishes they wrote down in the beginning of the book? 🥺🥺🥺

The story takes place during a no inhibitions bachelor/bacherolette weekend where saucy games are played to heighten couples experience. There are some delicious flirty moments between our MCs, and some kinks explored. Check your TWs.
Evie is intelligent, brave and uncharacteristically tall for an FMC which is refreshing. She’s competitive, is protective of those she loves and is relatable as an introverted reader.
Our MMC is a possessive, commanding aeronautical engineer. James is a veteran but giving Clarke Kent vibes.
The concept is wonderful and the meet cute was on point. The games are both fun and risqué.
There’s much to enjoy about this book. It was entertaining and a valiant effort for a debut novel. Can be read as a HEA standalone.

The instant attraction made sense in this setting and they certainly had chemistry but the deeper connection didn’t really come through for me - it like lust. Character development was also let down as the age of the MCs was inconsistent with the popular culture referenced. I glossed over elements of conversation and visual descriptions (lost on me despite being the same age as the MC). There’s also some super niche themes discussed in detail such as classical art which may not appeal to a wide range of readers.
For me personally, there was some ick with some of the terms used in steamy chapters. The language at times was also obfuscatory or perhaps highlights the authors inexperience.
Some of the later themes explored weren’t for me.

This book CONSUMED me. I was hooked from the very start. When I tell you I could feel my heart rate quicken throughout this book, I frickin' mean it. I could not put this story down.
If you're a fan of romance with a side of secrets, mystery, a creepy "Clue-esque" mansion, wedding guests "stranded" on an island, and absolute dynamite chemistry between an FMC and MMC, look no further.
I'm not sure why I haven't see this talked about more on bookstagram, but it NEEDS to be. I absolutely loved Evie and James' story. Evie is the maid of honor in her best friend's upcoming wedding and James is the best man. Charlotte, thank you for giving us a more "nerdy" FMC and MMC. I loved that Evie was a restorative artist and English literature prof while James was our aerospace engineer. That is 100% my vibe. Because just like your dedication mentions "Nerds need love too."

Where do I begin?? I devoured this book in one sitting!! It has easily made it onto my list of all-time *favorite* books, and I cannot recommend it enough!
The story follows Evie (the maid of honor) and James (the best man), who are teamed up to compete in a series of games with the rest of the wedding party as part of a pre-wedding celebration. Set on a remote island and taking place over the span of a single night, this story hooked me from the start with their fun banter and sexual chemistry.
But past trauma on Evie's part, James' extreme protective nature, and another groomsman with something far more sinister in mind than a simple night of fun, take this book to darker depths I didn't expect...and it was one heck of a ride.
I never would have thought an author could convince me that two characters who begin the night as strangers could fall that hard for each other that quickly, but Charlotte manages to pull it off in spades! The chemistry between the main characters is incredible, and I didn't want this book to end.
Speaking of ending...omg!! This book is full of twists I never saw coming, and I can't wait for the next book in this duet to come out! I need it, like, yesterday!

Evie majored in English & Art during college, & works as a restorative artist at an art museum in Providence, RI. She is adventurous & spontaneous; affectionate & passionate; smart & accomplished; & extremely resilient & courageous. Evie had a very traumatic childhood, was an orphan at age 11, & suffers from PTSD & sleep paralysis. After confiding in an ex about her childhood & not being believed, Evie is reluctant to open up about the details of her childhood with anyone else, even her best friend Jenna. During the games at Krelborn Manor, there are many instances where Evie has flashbacks & is nearly debilitated by fear, however, she talks herself out of giving into her fears, as well as is comforted by James. With him, she feels safe & protected... something she has never felt before.
The Spice:
Okay, now for the goods. THE SPICE, YALL! It was hot, hot, hot. There was an instant attraction between James & Evie when they came across one another; & when they found out they would be partners in the games, they were quite pleased. Each of the games' purposes was to bring partners closer to one another, which meant James & Evie were spending a ton of time together. Evie discovered that she had a lot of untapped desires, & she openly communicated with James, & they explored these desires together. When James gives into her desires... lord have mercy. There were too many spicy scenes to count, lots of open door romance, primal play, bondage play, breath play, & such. They just went at each other any chance they got, & f*cked away all their inhibitions.

This book was SO fun!! I honestly didn't know what to expect but it kept me on the edge of my seat pretty much from start to finish and I enjoyed it so much.
Here are just some of the things to expect:
~ unique plot
~ forced proximity
~ duel pov (my FAVE)
~ insta lust ❤️🔥
~ lots of spice
~ past trauma
~ thriller/mystery vibes
~ touch her and you d¡e vibes
The story was so unique - I'd never read anything like it. I loved that not only was there a romance I adored between the two main characters, Evie and James (the spice was *chefs kiss* 🥵) but the book also had a bit of thriller/mystery mixed in too, which made the story even more interesting! The setting was perfect for the story and I felt like I was right there alongside the characters.
The games were honestly so fun and entertaining! Some had me giggling and blushing and others had my heart racing with anxiety. It's definitely a book that will keep you entertained and would help out of a slump.
This book does end on a cliffhanger and it had my head spinning!!? I need book 2 asap 😭

This was my first read by this author and I can tell you it will not be my last! I enjoyed Charlotte's writing so much that I finished this book in one day, which doesn't happen for me all that often. :)

The FMC Evie was amazing, I really loved her! <3 And the MMC James was quite delicious. I definitely think I have a new book boyfriend. ;)
I didn't necessarily love the insta-love type feel that happened between these two. I feel like insta-lust is more believable and relatable but when it's insta-love it almost turns me off a little bit for some reason?

I never expected this book to end up having me on the edge of my seat until I've reached the end of it in less than 24 hours. I simply couldn't stop reading!
The plot of this book? The tropes? The PLOT-TWISTS? The chatacters? THE SPICE❤️🔥?
Every single one of those is literally amazing and astounding!
I'm incredibly happy to have read this book and the astonishing work of the Author.
A wedding party partnered into teams in order to complete 5 games and win the prize, and all that with a whole bunch of mystery, secrets and for all of the readers just like me... Spice that did NOT disappoint, that's for sure!
I was shook and the desire that was radiating from every single one of the characters had be HOOKED.
