Kate McMurray writes smart romantic fiction. She likes creating stories that are brainy, funny, and of course sexy, with regular guy characters and urban sensibilities. She advocates for romance stories by and for everyone. When she’s not writing, she edits textbooks, watches baseball, plays violin, crafts things out of yarn, and wears a lot of cute dresses. She lives in Brooklyn, NY, with a bossy cat and too many books.
Wow - for only a handful of pages, this story packed in a lot of sweetness. I felt that they author somehow managed to get quite a bit of character development into this story. We learn about both of the characters - their past and their feelings of living in NYC. The end of this story just held so much promise for their future. It was short but poignant and well-executed. I would read more about Chris and Adrian.

This is what freebies should be -- a good taste of what the author is capable of, and not just some fumbling quickie. There was no more than a shy kiss in this story, but it was better than two-thirds of the other Halloween Howls because of that. Without jumping right into bed, McMurray had time to show us the characters, letting two strangers create a bond beyond physical.
I'm definitely going to check out a longer story by this author.
finally an Halloween story Chris and Adrian neighbors but never really spoken until this night and tonight will be the beginning of a new life for both short and sweet. left me wanting more.
