Simple introduction to orchards and apple picking with large text and colorful pictures, ideal for beginning independent readers. There's also a very delicious-looking recipe for mini apple "pizzas" at the book's conclusion, that will especially be appreciated by families looking for fresh and healthy snacks.

Simple book about visiting an apple orchard. Good layout, nice big colorful photos featuring diverse kids (including one with a visible disability!). Text is a bit simple and stilted, but much more appealing than A Visit To the Orchard by Clark and less awkward than Fall Apple Fun by Rustad. Ages 3-6.

This book starts out with an epitext from the author stating how the illustrations and words describe the fall apple harvest and how the images support early readers in understanding the text better. It includes table of contents, glossary, read more page, internet sites, and index sections. It is a great book that includes bold topics and headlines that introduce early readers into subject specific vocab words as well as a step by step process in learning how an apple is harvest. The medium is real photographs of the apple harvest as well as the usages of the apple.
