The Snow Warrior

Rate this book
Subotai was an orphan and grew up almost as an outcast among his own people. Destiny decreed that one day he would lead the great Khan's army across China and Russia to the very shores of the Danube and the threshold of Christian Europe.

A fast-paced adventure reminiscent of James Clavell.

A wonderful, captivating book I recommend to anyone who loves historical fiction. I’ve now re-read it several times over the years My only regret is Don Dandrea didn’t write anything else!

Mr. Dandrea did a wonderful job weaving the story of the elusive Snow Warrior, Subotai. The imagery he creates through a rich vocabulary compelled me to keep turning pages as I followed Subotai's life from childhood to powerful adulthood and his victories in leading Genghis Khan's armies.

This book is entertaining, the characters are well developed and the story flows very smoothly. Do not look for historic accuracy in all parts or descriptive battle scenes. Instead, watch for the heart of a warrior born in an orphan boy seeking the things we all dream of in a world that is foreign to the modern mind and yet very much the same.

Read this book years ago and gave my copy away. Have regretted it so many times as I enjoyed the way the book was written and the story
