Although this book was useful for teaching me the fundamentals of electroanalytical chemistry, it wasn't sufficient. However, it has necessities.

This book was extremely helpful in illustrating the basic concepts of analytical chemistry and sharing several interesting applications to get you beyond the "how" these techniques work into the "why" most of these techniques are used to begin with. I would recommend it for anyone interested in analytical chemistry; it is a fun and easy read.

wow a textbook i didnt hate think it was actually Worth $150 i was forced to pay for it. Loved taking it into my open book exam and flipping through the pages loudly right in the faces of people doing exams in other courses that weren’t open book. Lol losers. Only thing is the polyprotic acids and bases chapter being told through only examples with amino acids was annoying. THATS THE HARDEST CHAPTER WHY IS IT THROUGH ONLY ONE EXAMPLE. Also, the titration questions were too hard.

Easily my favorite textbook ever. It clearly and concisely explains complex ideas with hilarious analogies. To this day when I look at a mass spectra, I think of a referee with its arms raised when I’m screening for bromine. If you are a chemist or scientist in a field with lots of analytical techniques (microbio, food science, geosciences, etc.), I strongly recommend hanging onto your copy for your career. It’s a super useful text.

Another must have for the chemist. The best desk reference for analytical chemistry.

I practically read this thing cover to cover between all of my analytical chemistry classes. Were they boring? Yes. Were they informative and a critical foundation for any future quantitative analysis I will do? Also yes.

Worked through parts of chapters 0~5, 18, 22~26, 28 of the 9th edition for a college course.
Understandable text. Great plus; the answers of ALL of the numerical problems are at the back of the book, instead of only the 'odd numbered' ones.

If you don’t have experience in gen chem, some O Chem, and stats, you will not understand this book very well, however, it is packed with tons of information and has everything you need and more for analytical chemistry!

definitely one of the better chem textbooks that i have experienced, by far! not too dense and occasionally interesting, which surprised me especially for a subject like analytical chemistry, which was nice and appreciated.

It has a good amount of practice problems, but it wasn't written well.

A good book to teach Analytical Chemistry to newbies, such as myself, and an even more valuable reference tool.
