Nice book about space. Not for beginner readers, but I read it to my 5 yr old and he enjoyed it. The illustrations are big and hold lots of fun facts, which kept my child interested. After reading the book, we decided that later today we'll make a replica of the universe with clay. Overall a good beginning to a science lesson.

1. This is a book all about space. It includes information about all of the planets, astronauts, space rocks, satellites, and much more. The book is full of great information and it even includes a glossary and timeline.

2. I really enjoyed looking at this book, and I know that children would also love looking at it. There is so much information in it, with great images to go along with the topic. I like that the book includes information about more than just the planets. I think it could really help students gain an interest in space and the different aspects of the topic.

3. I would connect this book with online resources. One website that would go along with this book is http://discoverykids.com/category/space/ . This site has information about all of the planets, games going along with the subject, and a lot of videos to increase their knowledge on space.

4. “It is difficult to imagine just how big the Universe is, that’s because we think it’s never-ending, containing an unimaginable number of stars!” I think this is a great quote that would get the students thinking about the universe and how massive it is. It would be interesting to give this quote to the students before reading the book and discussing it.

This book Space is a nonfiction children's picture book. This book is best geared towards children from 6-10.

This book is a fun and factual journey through space. With each page centered around one planet, and fun facts for each one. This book had some more difficult words, but also has a glossary in the back so that children can expand their vocabulary. This book is setup very well with facts popping out all over the pages. It is more of a factual book then a story, but i know many kids would enjoy this especially with all the pictures of each planet illustrated.

Space enthusiasts can take an interstellar journey and discover the wonders of the universe in this Smart Kids book. Filled with facts and photographs, it takes readers through the solar system, explores the moon and Mars, looks at satellites, space stations, rockets, the space shuttle, and more. A space timeline and an informative glossary provide further information for space enthusiasts.

Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this book because it was informational but presented the text using bolded, colored lettering, and large pictures that filled the page. Each page had a sufficient amount of text but was not overwhelming. I paired this book with Outer Space Bedtime Race by Rob Sanders. It is a bedtime race for all of the aliens that live on each planet. The "bedtime race results" are listed in order of their distances. It is filled with colorful and creative illustrations, with different looking aliens for each planet. Here is an example of how the same information is presented in two different ways:
Outer Space Bedtime Race: "Since Neptune swarms with icy clouds, the Neptunites must sleep in crowds. Just as the clock strikes fifty-nine those snoozers cross the finish line."
Space: "Neptune: the furthest planet from the Sun, Neptune is a cold and icy giant."
Both books discuss the distance and characteristics of Neptune but in two different ways.

This book was so informative! I loved how each page was put together so well! I learned so many things from this book. The twin text I chose for this book was Mousetronaut by Mark Kelly. I chose this book because it was about a mouse who went to space for NASA! Yes, it's fiction, but what a creative and fun idea! I think kids would really enjoy reading this while they're learning about space because the illustrations are so much fun! And they're both about space so they definitely go hand in hand.

This book is about space. It shows and explains what the universe is, Milky Way, the planets, sun, stars, asteroids, etc.
I really love this book because it explains about space in a simplistic way while also introducing space vocabulary and terms to the students that will help them in future science classes.
I would use this book to do a unit on space for science integration. We would read this book little by little and do group projects to test understanding and see what they are learning.

This is a simple and informative overview of space and its exploration with fun illustrations and photographs of the information. I learned (or maybe relearned) quite a few fun facts:
-There are 200-400 billion stars and 50 billion planets in the Milky Way -In our solar system there are 5 dwarf planets including Pluto -You could fit 1300 earths in Jupiter
-A day is only 10 hours on Saturn -Winter on Neptune last 40 years
I would 100% recommend this to any space enthused kids!

Read it while at work and found quite fascinating and educational. Any kids who really love astronomy would devour this book under 30 minutes. After reading it all I wanted to do was go to the library and read bunch of astronomical books.
