After a year of secret crushes and weekly visits under false pretenses, I finally have my Wildflower. She's everything I've always wanted and then some. My heart is full. Life is good. Our future is within reach.
In a flash, our lives go up in flames. I'm forced to make an impossible life or death decision—one I'm not sure we can come back from. There was no choice. I'd give my last breath to save my Daisy. I nearly did.
In the aftermath, it wasn't only her apartment and shop that were decimated. I destroyed her trust, her faith, and possibly her love. I smashed it all over a secret and a sacrifice she wasn't prepared to live with.
But here's the thing: I'd do it all again. I don't regret a single second, other than hurting her. Even if it means I have to live with this hole in my heart—in my life—forever...
Some choices are nearly impossible to come back from.

Holy hotness with all the feels Wildfire: An Ashford Family Novel (Wild Duet Book 2) by D.M. Davies is a rip your heart out ride while hanging on to hope. Reid and Daisy, finally together, only to have tragedy strike and drive a wedge between them. Reid is perfect for Daisy as he refuses to give up. His persistence and determination fuels his recovery. His patience and understanding, proof positive that he belongs to Daisy and no other. Daisy not only has to heal physically, but emotionally. So much trauma on top of a hurtful secret no matter it wasn’t intended that way. The plot for this book is the physical and emotional journey. Both Reid and Daisy have some thinking and healing to do and while Reid may not have liked it, it seemed like the necessary path. The time away, but with constant communication acted as a catalyst to absolute truth; Reid and Daisy belong to each other and together. She’s his Wildflower-unexpected, sweet, beautiful and he’s her Sequoia-strong, majestic, steadfast. Overall, this heartbreaking yet healing love story is sweet yet turns up the heat and speaks directly to the heart. Reid and Daisy, full of love, brimming with happiness and hope, find their way back to one another and safely secure their promising future and HEA. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
This was an amazing fast paced, Action paced duet. My reviews of each book is below. Wildflower Daisy ironically owns a flower shop. She works hard and love what she does. Reid is a firefighter and has been going into Daisy’s flower shop once a week for year now. Talk about patiently waiting….He finally ask her out and they start spending a lot of time together. I really enjoyed Reid and how sweet and protective he was with her. The cliffhanger was a dozy and I couldn’t get to book one fast enough. Wildfire Holy cow did this book deliver! Daisy and Reid’s connection is deep and nothing is going to happen to break that…or will it? As these two go though a horrific event…how will they come out of it at the other end? Emotionally and physically these two are beat. They need the strength of each other more than anything. I truly enjoyed this quick paced duet and loved every character in this series. I would love to get more I to the other brothers stories…because I love this family!
A hot, steamy, angst filled romance filled with every emotion known to men and women...grab this emotional romance to see if Daisy and Reid make it thru the turmoil or does it break them both. Loved it!!❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️
Wildfire is an emotional read that definitely brings the heat. Reid and Daisy work to find their HEA after a traumatic event threatens to tear them apart. This story is sweet, heartbreaking, and beautifully written. Reid is so amazing, I loved how supportive he was with Daisy. I loved this book and hope the rest of the Ashford men get a story too!!!
Reid and Daisy left us in turmoil at the end of Wildflower. Fire was about to destroy everything, but that's what fire does. When Daisy comes to and discovers Reid's okay but has been keeping a secret she wonders if their relationship is as real as she believed. Coupled with the trauma they just suffered and his willingness to leave her she needs to escape. Reid can't seem to keep Daisy from running. He kept her alive but she won't stay, he can't let her go, but he has to give her space and time. Their store burns like a hot fire, strong, fast, intense, and unrelenting. With the right fuel and nurturing it will burn forever can Reid and Daisy find that or will they be smothered out in the end. I have voluntarily left this review.
This is the 2nd part of this amazing duet, and Reid and Daisy are finally together. When tragedy strikes there is a wedge between Reid and Daisy, he is understanding, caring, and patient, while she needs to heal emotionally and physically, but they give each other the strength and support to come out stronger on the other side. This is a well written fast paced story, which is an emotional roller coaster, with angst, heartbreak, trauma, tragedy, romance, trust, secrets, healing, action, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to a steamy addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
These characters are everything you want in a love story! So much anticipation and love between these two that you just cannot get enough of them. WHAT. A. CONCLUSION! I'm sad to have their story end because I loved them both SO much!
This story snuck right into my heart and it won’t be leaving. From page one I was all in my feelings. This couple is just everything, things weren’t easy for them and I loved how this author was able to develop a story and couple that was real and relatable.
Reid oh Reid….this man is so so swoony. He is the sweetest dirty talking hottie and I am so hear for it. Daisy is a strong, independent woman who I think most readers will immediately connect to. This duet is a must read!
This was such a good love story. DM Davis is great at bringing alpha-teddy heroes to life, and they are truly alpha-teddies. Big. Bossy. Demanding. Possessive. But then they melt for their woman.
I really enjoyed the character development that was shown as we followed Reid's thought processes, and the respect he showed to Daisy's requests was *chef's kiss*. We stan a man who respects boundaries.
And the hot stuff? It was really hot, and I don't just mean the fires. Here's hoping there's a story in the pipelines for all of the Ashford brothers! (please?)
Note: this is part 2 of the Wildfire Duet. Part 1, Wildflower, is currently only available as part of the Heroes with Heat and Heart 2 charity anthology benefitting the Grassroots Wildland Firefighters Organization. The anthology is available in Kindle Unlimited, and believe me, you need to read it.
I loved Wildflower, despite the ending that left us hanging. Reid… alpha make fire fighter biding his time until he can win over his flower. Wildfire picks up where Wildflower left off, with danger, heartbreak, betrayal and so much loss. I SO wanted them to find their HEA. Never give up, never give in, these two are made for each other. My only complaint was that the story ended. Perhaps we’ll get more with stories about his brothers…who doesn’t love a story about a sexy fire fighter?
Wildfire by D.M. Davis Overall Score ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Heat Level 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Reid been going into Daisy's flower shop every week, she thinks he's buying flowers for someone else. He finally makes a move!! They have a great night, and then the cliffhanger hits ... are they okay? Talk about keeping you on the edge of your seat. The secret that came to light breaks your heart when Daisy left the hospital. You just want them to work it out!!! Reid is there for her and isn't giving up on them.
This is a must read, cannot wait to read more from this author!
This might have been a slow burn but once they lit that match, it was a fire storm!! And this isn’t even to be punny!! Daisy and Reid could not get enough of each other once Daisy finally allowed Reid to truly love her.
Reid is definitely one of the swooniest of all book boyfriends. He treated Daisy like and absolute priceless treasure. But he also had the dirty mouth that is a dream in bed. He was big and strong but a total marshmallow for his Wildflower. He would do anything for her. When she said she needed time, he always always told her to take what she needed. He was loving, kind and generous. He never took her for granted.
Daisy was so lost after the fire. She was left to deal with a horribly traumatic event that left her injured and also the discovery of the Reid’s lie (by omission). She thought by escaping to her father’s house, she could recover in peace and also decide who and what she needed in her life. She did ask Reid for space but the longer they were apart the more she realized how he was her future.
I do feel like the lie by omission was a little too dramatic given how Reid never once acted as if he was anything other committed to her. I think focusing solely on her (and Reid) nearly dying in the fire would’ve been enough to throw her in tailspin. That being said, she did feel betrayed and given the lack of parental influence in her life due to their absence, it made sense Daisy would have trust issues.
Great finish to the story. It is part 2 so I wouldn't recommend reading it as a stand alone although if you don't mind missing the deep dive of back story by reading part 1 it has enough info on past events to give you a complete story. I still wouldn't recommend it though, it's much better when read in order. Don't miss out! You find out what Reid has to do to get his Wildflower back, and they navigate through life when Reid decides his fireman career is coming to an end!
Wildflower rating review: 5 stars, 4 steamy kisses What a great setup to follow along with Daisy and Reid's slowly burning hot relationship as they finally lol get together after some serious crushing on each other only for the fire to want to tear them apart.
So we continue Daisy and Reid in their healing and distance because as much we want an instant HEA life doesn't work that way. These two were meant to be and the time apart was heartbreaking it was needed for just a while. Any longer and IDK if I could take it.
D.M. Davis knocked it out the park with the continuation of Daisy (Wildflower) and Reid (Sequoia)! What a page turner! It’s steamy and a second chance romance which I didn’t want to put down. Daisy and Reid are both recovering from their injuries from the fire. When Daisy finds out a certain thing, she starts questioning Reid’s intentions towards her. Wait til you find out what this is. She goes to stay at her dads, he has an apartment above his house, while she recovers. Reid isn’t so happy, and he tries everything in his power to get Daisy back. On their journey back to each other, will their chemistry still burn? Will Daisy realize Reid (her Sequoia) is the one for her? You won’t want to miss a single moment. It’s definitely obvious the only person Reid wants is his Wildflower. What lengths will he go through to get her back in her back? And more importantly, will Daisy go back to having a Flower Shop or maybe something else? Will Reid continue to be a firefighter? I think in the end, they both made the best decisions that would make them happy.
Heartfelt, action packed and swoony, Wildfire is a great read.
With blazing hot chemistry, a dose on angst, and a heaping pile of swoon, combined with a fast paced plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this book gave me all the feels, keeping me hooked until the vey last page.
Love Reid and Daisy aka Wildfire. This is a book of emotions, chemistry, affection, action and realization. Loved this book so much. These two characters will melt your heart. Love me some D.M. Davis you rock doll.
