Published in 1996, and long out-of-print, this collection of the album cover art of German jazz and contemporary classic music label ECM features more than 500 glossy, high quality reproductions of twenty-five years of covers designed by Barbara Wojirsch and Dieter Rehm. The book also includes insightful essays by critics on the history and development of the label’s singular visual identity. A holy grail for graphic designers and jazz aficionados. You won't find a better copy of this extremely rare book.
ECM records type of jazz may not be every one's cup of tea but the art work on the albums are sublime. It is just a pity that this book is out of print and you either re-mortgage the house to buy it or get lucky in second-hand shop.
