Here we learn the most important lesson of all: that your immediate family will always be less fun than extended family. That grandma and grandpa are always the best. Everything you ever wanted to know about being little you can learn from a cute little alligator. Probably. My favorite childhood story.

What a fun book about learning to be respectful. I like all the pictures and I like that there are more words on each page.

I loved it when I was a kid because the illustrations were either relatable or absurd. It’s relatable because it’s normal kid stuff. Arthur’s playing, helping his mom, and having dinner. Only he’s an alligator, and takes alligator size bites. The little alligator is blowing bubbles in his milk. There is a discussion of the problems with having spaghetti in a rocket ship. There is a picture of an alligator inside the cabinet with the pots and pans, which my siblings and I thought was hilarious.

Filled with tips on manners, but most if all being gracious. Also, I always think of this book when I eat spaghetti.

I really liked this book as a kid for some reason, though now I am not so sure why. It's cute but meh. But 3 stars for the positive memories.

I still eat spaghetti based on what I learned in this book. More valuable than any college textbook.

This is one of the few books I remember distinctly when I was a kid. I'm not sure if I had terrible manners (likely) or if I just really liked Alligators but this was a favourite and read quite frequently. Today I read it again, and surprisingly it held up. It wasn't a perfect book, and likely deserves more of a 4 star grade, but this book taught me how to eat spaghetti when I was a boy, and that has to mean something.

I loved this little book when I was a child. I was looking for it for my nephews when I found out its out of print. The only copy I could find was for $140 on Amazon! Though I can't afford to buy it, I still remember how cute it was!
