Then, right when Nicole is finally making friends and fitting in at her new school, a mean trick is played on a girl in her class—starting the Slumber Party Wars.

It was an interesting book, but I didn't really like the start. She throws up on two different people, and that wasn't exactly fun. But, I did like the part when the Slumber Party Wars started because it was funny to read about what one side would do/try to do to the other side. My favorite character is Greta because I felt bad for her and how people made fun of her.
Why 5 stars? - For my daughter. I was thinking of my daughter reading this. She is 10 and I thought about what good messages it had. While it wraps up a little too neatly (my middle school girl drama was meaner), you really do like the characters and the trouble they get themselves into.
Are the characters well developed? No, its a middle school read. But its perfect for the 10 year old. Is the plot clever? It is actually. Pretty cute too, and it has real-life situations. And possible solutions how to deal with them. Will I want to read the other books? Probably - I mean, I want to know what the fake boyfriend wars is about now. Is it appropriate for teens? You bet - clean, no language, and a good message about bullying too. Will I get bored? I doubt it. I stayed up late to finish it. (not that is was that long anyway). Its cute and you wonder when the madness is going to stop. And you keep reading to see if Nicole's mom loses her cool.
I loved it so much I read it in just one day!! It was AMAZING!!
I loved EVERYTHING!!

Slumber Party Wars is a light, humorous middle grade story that captures the awkward chaos of being the new kid—complete with embarrassing moments, social missteps, and the desperate desire to fit in. Nicole’s introduction to her new school is a parade of cringe-worthy mishaps that will feel painfully relatable to younger readers.
The book shines most in its humor. Nicole’s internal monologue and the exaggerated disasters she encounters are genuinely funny, and the tone keeps things playful even when the social stakes feel huge to a twelve-year-old. The setup of a mean trick sparking an all-out “slumber party war” is clever and very much in line with the heightened drama of middle school life.
Where the story falls a bit short is depth. The conflicts resolve fairly quickly, and the emotional exploration of friendship, accountability, and empathy stays surface-level. While this keeps the book accessible and fast-paced, it also limits how impactful the resolution feels—especially for older readers or those looking for stronger character growth.
Still, Slumber Party Wars succeeds as an entertaining, easy read for its intended audience. It captures the messy, funny, and sometimes unfair reality of navigating friendships at that age, and it does so with warmth and humor.
Overall, this is a solid middle grade book that younger readers will enjoy, even if it doesn’t quite leave a lasting impression.
This is a reread from what I read when I was younger and honestly I thought I would hate it now but I loved it. Maybe not as I thought I would bc it’s a friendship between like 4 or 5 girls and the “popular one” is having a sleepover but when she talks bad about this new girl at school for trying to fit in, two of the girls decide on having a sleepover of their own. It’s a very middle school girl drama
No typos or anything, but there was nothing about this book that would make me recommend it. Pacing was erratic, ending was abrupt, characters were shallow and details were inconsistent. Adults did not behave like adults. For one, if this girl was a brownie last year who on earth is letting her go prank someone's house at night this year?
this book is amazing I love it since I can relate to how much fun Nicole and her friends have this is a book about a young girl facing everyday problems while hanging with her friends every weekend
This was a good book! I liked the plot and the characters a lot! However, the small stories kind of took me by surprise. I would rather have a whole novel instead of small aside stories. Overall this was a good book that described a nice friendship that also incorporated humor.
