I liked it. The writing was really good, so good I had trouble believing this was actually published by Siren, I kept waiting for all of the spelling and grammar mistakes like the normal shit stuff Siren publishes but it never happened. That made me happy reading it since I wasn’t being distracted by bad editing.

The story was interesting and I liked both main characters even though Ben a secondary character is my favorite and I hope he gets his own book

I got kind of bored at parts, mostly the family drama since it was the same drama with both families it just felt repetitive. Maybe that’s just me don’t like family drama anyway so the double dose didn’t help.

I am a huge fan of enemies to lovers and vampires. So when you put the two together, add some great sex scenes, and a lot of sweetness, you get one very happy girl. This book was really good. Fair enough, it won't be everyone's thing. But for vampire fans, this is a book you should try at least. It was just lovely to read.

Cedrick, a sun sprite, and Silus, a vampire, meet at a party hosted by Silus' parents. There is an instant attraction that lead them to a night together. But that was not enough for either man and they met again. It was a great way to start the relationship. The fact neither man really cared about the families being at war made it a bit more realistic. It wasn't a story about the MC's fighting their love or connection throughout the story.

The secondary characters. Ben was my favourite and I wasn't surprised about his feelings. I think most people could have guessed how he felt without really trying. Then there were the families. I kinda expected them to not come around. When they didn't, it wasn't a huge deal. Out of the two, I would have seen Silus' family being somewhat more accepting.

For people who did not know, I am not a huge Romeo & Juliet fan. Shocking, yes. But I read it for my junior cert and have not looked at it since. Does that tell you? So anyway, this book had aspects of the Romeo & Juliet thing... But this was far less depressing and much more enjoyable than Romeo & Juliet. It could be the fact it was about two men or maybe the fact the ending was nicer. But I would rather have read this in school.

I recommend this book. Fans of vampires should love it!

I really liked this book. What fascinated me to start with was the idea of sunsprites and vampires, and how they might be natural enemies. The first love and depend on sunlight, the latter are wounded and can be killed by it. On top of that, Mandy Rosko created some fascinating main characters, as well as a set of interesting supporting characters. Add to that the fact of two feuding families and you're set up for perfect disaster.

Luckily, this story didn't take the route of Romeo and Juliet despite the many initial similarities. I would have been extremely disappointed if it had! Instead, it took off in a totally unexpected direction, creating a new mythical fantasy world with its own rules and some intriguing possibilities for future sequels.

I liked the inventiveness of the battle scenes just as much as the stubborn cleverness Cedric and Silus showed. The fact that they outwitted everyone in the end, and the logic they used to do it, made me laugh in relief.

If you like stories that explore new 'fantastic' ideas and create their own set of rules, interesting concepts about ways two paranormal species could live and fight together, and if you like your heroes strong and in love, you will probably like this book.

A bit of Romeo and Juliet but with a twist. At the end, it shows the power of love: the willingness to sacrifice the life as you know it, and to sacrifice your own feelings, knowing that the man you love is now happy with someone else...

It was boring.

I was bored. Very bored. I didn't get it. I thought there'd be more tension. Silus was, actually, magnificently useless. Cedric was, also, magnificently useless. Their romance was unromantic and markedly lacking in excitement.

Do you want a modern Romeo and Giulietta? A retelling with a vampire and a sun sprint? And oh yeah, better say also a modern Romeo and Romeo gay retelling because oh YES! both are men!

In a society where not just vampires and sun sprints are enemies but also same sex is not accepted what would happen if two men fall in love? A sun sprint, that want a vampire... a vampire, that already just looking to a sun sprint decided to claim him?
It's a instant love story? Oh yes...
It's a sappy romance? Oh yes...
It's a erotic story? Oh yes..
It's a story of two men, one an alpha male and the other like a damsel in distress? OH HELL NO! Both are strong and stubborn men, and want each other. If they family are against it is not their problem! They love each other and will do everything possible to be a couple... even risking his life if it's necessary.

What? Are you scary? because I said it's a Romeo&Romeo story, so doomed to end with both lovers dying to be together in after death?

Errr... nope, I will not spoil saying it... if you want to know if there is a HEA click the spoiler bellow. However, believe me, the end is not what you should be worried about. The amazing world building, the great main characters and the hot sex scenes are what really count in my view, and why I enjoy a lot this story, and MUST give it 5 stars.

so yes, it's a 5 stars book and

This book was so hot! Loved the characters, and I really enjoyed the world this author created of vampires vs. sun sprites. It was very Romeo and Juliet-esque in their forbidden romance, and I enjoyed reading this one a lot! I'll be looking forward to more from this author.

**Grammar**

Cedric, is a sun sprite from an ancient and respected family, which doesnt care about his dreams or desires. Cedric always knew he was gay and with the help of his best friend and bodyguard Ben,that he doesnt know is in love with him, he was able during the years to go to bars and parties to flirt and have one night stands with other men. Sadly all this is going to end. One day Cedric finds out that he is soon to be married to his wealthy cousin to fix with her dowry the family debts. Cedric is allowed one night of freedom before his wedding and he decides to try something new. He heard that vampires are the best lovers and he wants to remember his last night as a free man.

Silus Veturious, the son of a Vampire Lord, is having his birthday celebration, and Cedric with Ben's help(the human has the power to teleport),crashes the party. Soon Silus attention his on him. The vampire thinks that he is human and he sees no problem with taking Cedric to his bed for some fun. When they are finally alone and Silus tastes Cedric's blood he soon understands that he is a sun sprite, and his blood gives him the best orgasm of his life.

Their families are enemies but Silus wants to be with him again. He wants to know more about this brave sun sprite that was able to enter in a house full of his enemies. Cedric agrees and the 2 decide to meet again the next day.

Few hours later Silus' father comes to his room and tells him that the guards saw a sun sprite leave his room. The young vampire has to lie, and tells his father that the sun sprite used him and made him ill, that he didnt know the guy was one of his mortal enemies and that this would never happen again. His father believes him and leaves him alone. Silus is able to alert Cedric of the danger thanks to their link, something that was born btw them after the vampire fed from the sun sprite.

Later that day, the lovers meet in the house near the swimming pool and have sex together for the first time. Their coupling is fast and rough(all consensual) and Silus is a bit jealous of the fact that he was able to take Cedric this way bcs he was not his first lover. Silus' instincts tell him that Cedric is his mate and he wants the man to be just his.

The 2 men are falling in love. Meeting this way is not enough anymore. Silus tells Cedric that he is his mate and then explains to him that this word hasnt the same meaning for the vampires as for the werewolves, the difference is that while Cedric is his, Silus isnt Cedric's yet. Not till the sun sprite agrees to take him as his.

Luckily for him Cedric wants him too.

They know that they need to tell their families about their relationship, but they also understand that this will not have a good end. They are prepared to do all they can to be together, also die if necessary.

(pratically a gay Romeo and Juliet with an HEA...)

When Cedric tells his parents that he loves a vampire and doesnt want to marry his cousin, they disown him and give him only the time to take his things before casting him away. Cedric teleports to Silus and explains to him what happened, the vampire gives him the keys to a cottage he bought with his money and that no one other than him knows exist.

They agree to meet later that night, but sadly Silus' father finds out about this meeting.

The old vampire asks his doctors to fix his son, they made him believe that Silus was hexed by the sun sprite and the only remedy to save him, is to drain him, to clean his blood.

The poor guy gets drained for hours and almost dies 2 times before the doctors tell his father that they cant do anything to save him. Silus knows that he is going to die, that the doctors killed him not Cedric's blood and that he will never stop loving him. He is slowly dying, left alone in his room. He is losing his hope when an human guard enters the room. He tells the man that he will make him a vampire if he helps him with his blood. Silus knows that all the humans working for his family have this desire and he also knows that his father will never turn them, but will only use them till they die.

The human at start doesnt want to help him, but in the end agrees. Silus is finally free to leave the room.

(Here we still dont know that this poor human,Seth, soon vampire, will be one of the MCs of the next book and that his life will be a damn hell thanks to Silus and Cedric, also if they didnt mean to.)

While we see all this happening in the vampire's house, we also read about the fact that the vampires declared war to the sun sprites, asking for a time and day to have their battle. The sun sprites have other ideas, they want to ambush the vampires during the day and kill them all, like cowards.

Ben tells to Cedric all about his family plan and then takes him back to the city. Cedric needs to find Silus, he knows that the vampire would never leave him alone so something must have happened to him.

Soon they arrive in Silus' room and find the place smelling like a butcher's shop and the sheets full of blood. Under the bed they find the human that helped Silus, but they leave him there, not caring for him...(if only Ben knew that guy would be his future lover and all the pain he will feel in the next year could be avoided taking him with them.....poor Seth)

The house is full of ppl screaming. The battle is taking place and the 2 families are fighting. Cedric wants to save his parents and needs to find them. While running, they finally find Silus. The 2 lovers are finally reunited but they dont have time to waste, they need to save their parents and they know that if talking with them will not help they'll need to fake their deaths.

Thanks to a lie(letting them think that Silus is going to kill Cedric) they are able to reunite both the families in the same place and try to explain them about their love and why they dont want to give up on their relationship, but their parents dont care about their feelings and they soon understand that the plan must change. Thanks to Ben help, that will teleport them at the last second, they are able to fake their deaths and reach the cottage, where they will finally be able to live together.

Thanks to this, they are able to stop the war at least for now.

In the last pages of the book we see Silus asking Cedric to make love to him, to take him as no one has ever done before, since he is used to top, but we dont read about this scene...sadly, bcs i wanted to... -_-'

Anyway the book wasnt bad and i found it interesting, but i feel like it missed something. I liked the jealousy, how Silus gets angry thinking that Cedric would have had sex with another vampire if they hadnt met (also if we know that Cedric had wanted to leave after seeing one of the vampire, Silus'father, kick and hurt one of the waiters), or when he finds out that Cedric has a fiancee and he doesnt understand how he can cheat on someone he loves, not knowing that the marriage isnt Cedric's idea. I also liked how they both wanted to be together despite the danger.

What i really hated was their families and mostly their fathers. Those useless and abusive men, that think of their sons as their proprieties, something they own and can use, and prefer seeing them dead than together. Knowing what Silus' father will do to Seth i really wished the sun sprites killed him, and i hope someone will.

Ben was a good friend, he loves Cedric, but at the same time he helps him to be with Silus. When after he teleports the lovers back to the cottage and tells Cedric about his feelings, we already know that he is doing this only to come clean and not bcs he thinks that something could happen btw them. He kisses Cedric tenderly on the lips and makes some joke, leaving the lovers alone. He lets Cedric knows that he is not gonna lose him as a friend, and also in the 2nd book he will help them.

Great light read!

This is a really creative PNR about vampires and their mortal enemies, the sun sprites. Can Silus and Cedric really find a way to be together when one is a creature of the day and the other is a child of the night? Can they find a way to get their families to accept them together? Two hot men, a blazing (and dark, lol) love story, and hot sexytimes with biting. A fun and entertaining read with some twists from the everyday.

This is the love story between a vampire and a sun sprite which is forbidden because they are mortal enemies. The night before Cedric is to marry his cousin, he goes in search for one last night with another man, specifically a vampire. The attraction is instant and the danger of being discovered is possible death. The story is full of sexual interaction between Silus and Cedric and danger, even from members of their own families. The story is well written, entertaining and worth reading.

I thought the concept of enemies between Sun Sprites and Vampires to be an interesting concept. There was a decent amount of world-building in the story, with still some points that could be developed/explored in later books. Cedric I found a bit juvenile at times. He seemed to just be going with the flow of the arranged marriage, despite his feelings for his fiance being more brotherly that lover. I can understand that there was a cultural pressure to go along, but even once he decided he wouldn't go through with the marriage he never seemed to make an actual plan for what came next. Silus is actually a good bit older that Cedric (being a Vampire, that makes sense), but he also had the sense to plan for his future. I rather liked Ben, Cedric's bodyguard and friend, and hope he'll get a story eventually. I thought the "battle" could have used a bit more work, it came across a little cliched to me.

I really enjoyed the world building and original concepts in this book, and thought the sun sprites and their abilities were a refreshing change from the usual paranormals. Even though vampires and sun sprites were natural enemies, Cedric and Silus were able to put aside the preconceived ideas of their species and discovered just how perfect they really were together. I loved Silus' reaction to drinking Cedric's blood. These boys sizzled! The story was reminiscent of an old-fashioned fairy-tale because of the language used by the vampires and the attitudes/values of both Cedric's and Silus' parents but instead of the feared tragic ending, I was pleased to see this hot couple get their HEA. It took a little angst, a lot of drama and a great twist at the end, but they got there. I'd like to see a follow-up though because of the way the big battle ended, and also because I'd like to hear more about Cedric's loyal best friend Ben :)

How can dark and light find a way, what is the compromise? When you are virtually opposite, how do you find the balance? Cedric attending bachelor fun night before committing to his arranged marriage. He attends a vampire party with his best friend, Ben. Silus, vampire attending his birthday party sees Cedric and is attracted. After one taste, he discovers Cedric is not human, is a mortal enemy of his kind, and his blood is poisonous. Silus decides Cedric is his mate. Parents so proud? This is a relationship that is a challenge beyond being mortal enemies, they now have a fatal logistical problem. Cedric's flash can burn Silus, so I guess, no arguments? LoL. What will bodygard/friend Ben do? It's all such a mess! Mandy cleverly and very entertainingly draws us through an intriguing fun puzzle that holds us enthralled. Well done! I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a good romance story between two unlikely lovers. Cedric is a sun sprite, a creature of the light. He wants one last hot fling with a vampire, because he has heard that they are great lovers, before he is forced into an unwanted wedding. The thing is that sun sprites and vampires are mortal enemies. Myths abound about the blood of a sun sprite being poisonous to a vampire. I liked both the main characters and hated their parents for their narrow minded ways. The story was a great twist on the vampire romance.

Finding and maintaining a relationship is a challenge under the best of circumstances but when your partner is a night creature and you are a creature of the day and your families are mortal enemies how can you make that work? Fun twist on the feuding clans/ Romeo and Romeo story.

This is the 1st book I've read written by Mandy Rosko; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the chemistry between the characters.

The story didn't speak to me, it was a forbidden love story between a sun spirit and a vampire. In general it was good story with HEA ending for this couple. The plot was to easy and to plain. Cedric and Silus were not compatible as a pair.

Not a family story. I want a sequel, possible with the only other good guy. I want to know why humans can teleport. The story is very much like Romeo and Juliet, but slightly less depressing at the end and with the same amount of apprehension.

Cedric is a sun sprite and Silus is a vampire. They're suppose to hate each other because one is light and the other is dark . When they meet they know they belong together and they won't let anything or anyone come between them.I really enjoyed this book.
