although Quotes dates back centuries, they stand the test of time to be relevant even today.
. some are hilarious, some witty yet has wisdom encapsulated by the intelligent use of what ever was present at the time and moments ( my guess)
for Eg.
- Even Summers may have winter weather,
- Gold is test by fire, man by gold
- Cheap meat is bulked with fat
- Open book and you are profited
- I hear and forget, I see and I remember, I do and i understand.
- Use the days of plenty to think the days of nothing...

Short poems and quotes from the great thinkers in Chinese history. Divided into four sections covering life topics such as love, war, work and death it is rich for picking up when the mind is feeling a little undercharged. The exchanges between different writers in philosophical arguments provide entertaining but succinct insight into the great thinkers, and the single quotes are surprisingly contemporary.

Not at all bad considering it was picked up for £2 ($4). A worthwhile addition to the bookshelf.

A handy quick reference collection of some of the more common chinese proverbs gathered from across the China. Some of these proverbs are as true today as when they were first written and can help put a more traditional perspective on a somewhat frantic modern life
