The Hidden Realm #1

A Dragon's Wolf

Rate this book
Some things are better left unknown.

Dawsyn
All my life I’d been nothing more than the alpha’s daughter. After twenty-two years of that existence, I finally leave my pack, intent to figure out who I am.

Except a week into my newfound freedom, I discover that dragon shifters exist. Not only that, but the first one I stumble upon turns out to be my mate. One I don’t want and never asked for.

It’s not like Cillian is bad on the eyes or that I’m repulsed by his grumpy demeanor. In fact, everything about him is rather…appealing. He just wasn’t part of the plan.

Cillian
The realm I call home is under attack and things are only getting worse as the weeks pass. When I decide to do something about that, I get more than I bargained for.

I get Dawsyn Chase.

A wolf shifter with a bite as vicious as her words that also happens to be my fated mate. She’s a distraction I intend to stay away from, but when the world demands otherwise… It could be more than our bond at stake if we’re not careful.

This is a slow burn Paranormal Romance trilogy set in the Mystics and Mayhem world, but can be read on its own without major spoilers to past series. If you love fated mates who don’t fall instantly in love, swoon-worthy dragon heroes, and feisty heroines, then you don’t want to miss out on these books!

Strong start to a series. Cillian I’m hoping becomes more of a force instead of just talking big show me something. Dawsyn very strong FMC but selfish tsk tsk. Great secondary characters who I hope do not turn out to be the enemy 🤞🏻

Great start!

Happy reading,

A Dragon's Wolf (The Hidden Realm 1) by Heather Renee

Dang duuude WTH!? After that ending, I am not okay right now. That took a chaotic nose dive real fast. Miss Heather, I am not happy with you. You need some book time-out until your evil side takes a break and you start playing nice with your characters. Gaaah...just how could you make her choose that after everything she'd finally settled on? Sigh. No spoilers...All I will say is you know what you did.

I need more pronto...like rights now. Someones needs to be knoxed out and hopefully permanently and soon! I have some problems that need to be fixed. Soooo gimme-gimme.

Now I have no clue what to do with myself. I've already done the obvious first step, eat my feelings in chocolate... but surely I'm not just meant to wait? Pfft...me is not a fan of that option at all. Nope. Nope. Nope.

I be needing some of this right now! I'm desperate for more!

In case many of you aren't aware, this is how I express my love of a book. If I'm feeling all these things and being an impatient, dramatic soul, it means that Heather did her job in snagging me in and making me invested in how this story plays out. I must say, I really loved so many elements in this story. The characters were just so lovable from the start...and can I just have a moment to freak out that this is the next generation from WOLF KISSED!

Okay, back on track...now it's time to begin Dawsyn and Cillian's story and boy does it go off with a bang. Dawsyn, ready to find her own feet in the world, she has a plan, but sometimes plans are made to have a detour...and oh boy, is Dawsyn in for a journey! A journey that'll prove, to her, that not all plans are the right one for the time and they most certainly can be modified. To be able to bend and accommodate to the new. She is in for a journey that teaches her many things and that it's okay if you just let things fall where they may. No matter how crazy that new pathway looks.

And fate definitely has its own plans for her...ones that will change the course of her whole future and may just lead to what she'd been searching for from the very beginning.

And I can't say I can disagree with fate. Coz that comes with one schmexy dragon shifter. But of course, things are not going to be smooth sailing. For one, Dawsyn is most certainly not after a mate just after finding her freedom at Mystics Academy. But she was most certainly not prepared for him to show up in the form of a dragon shifter. One very swoon-worthy and slightly moody dragon I might add. From the very beginning, of these two meeting, they just gave me all the good and angsty entertaining vibes. I was here for it. Every second.

Just to give you a quick sneak peek at what you are in for...I give you folks...Dawsyn and Cillian.

...He looked down, brow raised and head cocked. “Are you challenging me?”
“Yep.” I let the ‘p’ pop loudly. “Do you accept?”
He chuckled. “Do I have a choice?”
I didn’t bother to answer. I just stared him down, chest rising and falling rapidly, thanks to my growing wrath.
“Fine.” He sighed, the sound mixed with annoyance and frustration. “I accept.”
Instead of letting go of him and expecting him to follow, I kept the tight hold on his shirt and dragged his tall a** around the table. “Am I a dog you’re trying to leash?” he asked as we got to the stairs.
“You’re a big F***ing pain in my a$$,” I said harshly.
He gasped dramatically, but I forced my eyes to keep looking toward the front door of the library that I intended to drag him out of.
“That’s quite the colorful language, Dawsyn,” he goaded, but I didn’t bite. Not yet anyway.
I’d show him colorful as soon as I got him in the gym next door.
I was about to start and finish World War III, with Cillian as the only casualty.

Okay, so that was just one look into the starting of their life and I just know these two will not disappoint you! I'm totally here for it. But let's look a little at Cillian's side, since yaaaay to dual POV!!

Now, Cillian has come to the Academy with the weight of saving his own realm, his home, things are drastically worsening there and he is searching for the answer...when instead he finds his mate just months after turning up. He was certainly not prepared for Dawsyn Chase, our little miss stubborn girl with feistiness as her brekkie meal. But our boy loves a challenge and is willing to convince her that he's not going anywhere.

Will they be able to stop butting heads and work together to save Cillian's home before it's too late? I guess you'll just have to read to find out for yourselves. 😉

Dive into this new series by Heather Renee, that will whip you away into a world of fantasy and chaos. A journey that I cannot wait to see where it leads. So what are you waiting for?! Alrighty so I’m gonna preface this with I’ve been working my way through a reading slump this past week or so. With that in mind, take my review with a grain of salt.

I thought this had such an interesting setup. Hidden dragon shifter trying to save his realm at an academy of sorts, wolf alpha’s daughter going to the same academy to find her own path out from under her father’s paw. Discovering the suddenness of a fated mates beyond, attempting to fight it. I mean everything sounded so good.

But my brain just couldn’t connect with the story. Like it came off a bit sudden at times with the perspective changes or the setting/timeframe jumps. The latter half of the book I got into just a bit more, but things still felt a bit disjointed. Like totally blindsided by that ending (not in a bad way though). I feel part of that disconnect came from the feeling that I was missing background that it felt like I should know? Like this was a spin-off from an original series that I hadn’t yet gotten a chance to read and this missed some of the world-building. I don’t know, this one is probably really really good, it just wasn’t fully a winner for me at this time.

A New Generation

I wasn't ready to leave the mystics and mayhem world behind, and I am so glad that I don't have to! I love that we get to continue on with the next generation! Dawsyn is all the best parts of her parents I feel, she's strong, independent, and capable! Such a kick butt heroine!! Cillian starts are the quintessential grumpy, broody, hot as heck male mc but definitely goes quickly soft for Dawsyn and it's so sweet!!! Once I started reading, I couldn't stop! Cillian's mission is so compelling, and I absolutely have to know how it turns out and that ending!! I can't wait for the next book in the series!

Forced proximity. Fated mates, but with some complications 😆 An Almost Rejected Mates. A Dragon Shifter and a Wolf Shifter? Yes please! You've heard of Grumpy-Sunshine    well this is Grumpy-Stubborn 🤣🤣 This book starts off with the heroine going to visit/stay with a friend at an academy temporarily. So it's not a true academy story, but there are definitely some elements still!
I really enjoyed this story! Like every single book Heather has written, it's fantastic. There's always the right amount of action to romance, swoony moments, LOL moments, shock the crap out of you moments 😅 Great friendships and Found Family. As part of her Mystics and Mayhem World there's some character cameos and a nice helping of steam. Highly recommend you check it out!

💕 RCRS: 3 [Heavier Kissing (series will go up to 6 - multiple open door scenes with tame descriptions)]

🗨 Some Quotes:
This was my mate. I’d let the whole damn world burn for her.

Oh, this cocky prick.
“I don’t want you,” I corrected. Though, my stomach churned and I was pretty sure if I opened my mouth again too soon that I was going to throw up on his boots.
Cillian leaned forward. “I smell bullshit.”

Fear was just as much of a fickle bitch as fate.

“Don’t f*ing touch her.” 🙌🏻

Simple characters and childish FMC. I wasn't a fan of Dawsyn. She has tough girl syndrome. Talks tough but isn't tough. She caved to actual threats against her, lacked common sense, immature and just a brat. The storyline idea was intriguing but there wasn't a lot of depth.

Heather Renee's The Mystics and Mayhem universe is expanding with her latest series, The Hidden Realm. A Dragon's Wolf is up first and what a frustrating fantastic read with a mfc who is too stubborn for her own good and a mmc who might just outmatch her in the stubbornness department. The angst was strong in this one but I loved every minute of it.

Dawsyn is a strong mfc. She's independent, outspoken, and stubborn as heck. She's an alpha, and heir to her father's pack but in her quest for freedom, she is making really bad choices and not owning up to her mistakes. I really don't like the fact that she points the finger at other people when she is the root of most of the problems. Dawsyn is stubborn to a fault, I understand she wanted a little freedom but after finding her fated she stubbornly chooses to ignore her own feelings, and the moment of clarity she gets before her irrational thoughts kick in. Dawsyn has been a little coddled and it's not about the mate thing but her reaction to the situation. Dawsyn has some growing to do.

As for Cillian, the dragon shifter has matched his mate for stubbornness. While he made a couple of bad decisions in the beginning he understands where he went wrong and made steps to correct it. Meanwhile, Dawsyn is in denial about the bond but Cillian decided he's going to respectfully fight for his mate and I love it. He went from grump to mister smooth really easily. I like the dragon, I think he could temper Dawsyn's attitude a little bit.

Talks about the academy where all sorts of supernatural youths can attend have finally come into being and it was great. I really like the college backdrop of the story however the interesting part is the newest supes that were introduced to the Mystics and Mayhem Universe. We got dragon shifters! Sure Cillian is the only one but he came with a whole backstory and a mystery. So not only is the plot all romantic angst but there is another world that's dying, creatures believed to be myth even by supes, and an obvious threat on the horizon. I can't wait to dive more into the dragon aspect though, because it seems Renee might have put a twist on her dragons.

A Dragon’s Wolf was an excellent read with an epic cliffhanger. I'm new to the Mystics and Mayhem Universe, having only read the Fated to the Wolf series before this one but I'm hooked. I enjoyed getting to know the children of the previous characters and the mentions of other characters that I know. Plus the drama and mystery surrounding the dragons is very interesting. I'm excited to see where Renee takes the story next and in the meantime, I have to check out the other books in this world.

Dawsyn & Cillian are like 2 ships crashing into each other.

Let me explain. Dawsyn has felt trapped all her 22 years by the pack her father runs. The only time she is allowed to leave is with her parents to meet other diplomats. She longs to be free. To be able to make a decision for herself. Her father, Roman, from Wolf Kissed is super overprotective! Thank God she was blessed with a mom like Cait who understands the need to spread your wings. Cait & Roman were my favorite couple however, Dawsyn & Cillian just stood the show! Dawsyn makes a plan her father can't say no to. She is going to go to college with her best friend River. River's roommate moved out so he has a free bedroom for a semester. After that she hasn't figured out where she is going. However, it's not college even though her parents helped found the college. Cillian is from a realm called Drago. His realm is dying. Cillian was sent to Earth to find out how to fix the realm. He has no idea what he's looking for. All he knows is the largest supernatural library is at this college. So he spends most of his time searching for a spell to save his realm. Until he smells something heavenly one morning. He is lead to the bathroom where Dawsyn is shocked to find out the bathrooms are coed. I could not do that. I don't trust guys to not pull pranks or peek at the girls! Plus my confidence in my body image is not very high. If I was a wolf shifter it would be no problem, I mean whose ever heard of a fat wolf shifter? Only pregnant wolf shifters & I dare you to say that to their faces! Anyway Cillian was in the process of pulling back the shower curtain when Dawsyn pulled it back to see who was out there. Not the best introduction for Cillian. It made him look like a creeper. And got him cussed out by Dawsyn. That started the feud. Now add to it all the hormones & weird emotions you would get when you meet your mate. Except for one thing those emotions were brief. Cillian was shielding his dragon powers which also shielded his feelings towards his mate. It's why Dawsyn acts like she has to put this dragon in his place. Those arrogant alpha hormones will get you every time. Cillian is so sweet that he lets her win. Like she could really beat a dragon! They have to call on Gigi Beatrix to help gather the spell ingredients. And before Cillian can get to Drago something terrible happens. I totally support Dawsyns decision although I probably would have thrown up while forming the bond. I knew she should have gone with Cillian or he should have waited until Beatrix got back to leave. He could have bonded.with Dawsyn while waiting. So no one would be in danger or left alone!

4.5 stars! This is a great slow burn NA PNR, filled with wolf shifters, dragon shifters, best friends, found family, fated mates, plenty of angst, and a brutal cliffhanger!

Dawsyn is desperate to get away from her pack, from the life she knows she must eventually come back to. She wants to live her own life, find her own adventures and joys, and the first step on that journey is to meet up with her best friend at what is essentially a private shifter university, and figure out her next step in freedom from there. Unfortunately it doesn’t take long for things to make a hard left turn, and she’s left once again feeling like her life is completely out of her control and she doesn’t get to make any choices for herself when she realizes one of the other students is her fated mate.

But Cillian isn’t just any other student. He’s a dragon shifter, hiding in plain sight, cloaking his identity and magic from others, because dragon shifters aren’t supposed to exist anymore. But they do, in a different realm, similar to that of the Fae, and that realm is in danger of being destroyed if he doesn’t find the magical solution to their problems. And for Cillian, finding his fated mate at this time is the best and worst thing that could happen. He’s thrilled to have found her, but cursing the timing when his home is at risk and needs him, and hurt that she doesn’t seem to want anything to do with him. But he makes the decision that he will somehow make both work - he will find the way to save his realm and he will also win over his mate and claim her as his. Easier said than done on both counts.

The back and forth between Cillian and Dawson is wrought with plenty of angst, Dawsyn doing everything she can to push him a way, resist him. She wants her freedom, not a fated mate. When she learns that he’s looking for a way to save his home, she decides to help him, thinking it will get him to move on sooner, and she can continue on her own way with her own plans of freedom. But the more time they spend together, the more she realizes that their connection is stronger than she can probably fight, and maybe she doesn’t want to after all. Meanwhile, Cillian slowly revels in seeing her warm up to him, knowing she may be his after all.

As things start coming to light when they’re researching what they need for Cillian’s realm, their worlds collide in an unexpected way, and suddenly, there’s a new, unknown danger lurking in the shadows. As we get to the end of this first book in The Hidden Realm series, there is a huge twist, and a major cliffhanger - one that had my heart breaking for Cillian, and itching to get my fingers on the next book, like now!

WHAT!!! What in the world was that? What the actual *insert word here* was that! Heather Renee is a cruel author hitting us with that massive cliffhanger at the end of this book! This is cruel and unusual punishment for her devoted readers. I am going to sit in a corner, rocking and crying for the foreseeable future until book 2 comes out!

Dawsyn is without a doubt Cait's daughter, she is so like her mother in one way that it is infuriating. As the only child and the heir to her father Roman's pack she has been sheltered all her life, treated with the respect she deserves but that doesn't leave any experience of being independent. Craving normalcy and the chance to control her own life she goes to Mystic's Academy to stay with best friend River and experience her life and freedom. However, it doesn't go exactly as she planned as she finds her mate and he is not what he seems. Hiding secrets, Dawsyn is not about to allow someone new to dictate her actions and how she should live her life, especially as she has only just got the freedom she's dreamed of. But is that truly what she wants?

Dragon shifters are real they live in a realm off Earth like the Fae but their world is dying. Something has forced them to return to Earth and this mysterious foe introduces us to Cillian. Dark and brooding, the pressure of keeping his dragon, a vital part of his soul hidden takes his toll and he is not winning any popularity contests anytime soon. obsessed with saving his race and his world from the impending apocalypse, Cillian can't afford to be distracted, least of all by a sexy, alpha wolf who makes his blood heat with desire.

A Dragon's Wolf is full of tension, angst, arguments, unexpected twists and turns, a new race, cameo's from some of our old favourites. The safety and security their world has just found seems out to be disturbed by the unimaginable and I can't wait for everyone to find out about Cillian and Dawsyn.

But back to the author! How could she do that? How can she leave the book their and make us wait? The wait for the next book is going to be the hardest and longest wait of my entire life!

I really wanted to DNF this book but since it was a quick read I forced myself to finish it.
This had a lot of potential and the idea of what this book about is interesting however the characters were what caused this book to be a one star for me.

Dawyson’s false bravado is annoying. How she treated Cillian, made me want to slap her. Forcing him to tell her his secret was obnoxious. Using her alpha power on him. The reality is a wolf would NEVER stand a chance going against a dragon. The alpha power wouldn’t work either. How she would shove him and stomp on his foot. Then how she challenged him and really thought she won 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ the fact that she made him kiss her toes. You are 22 acting like a immature brat.

River is another one. Gets mad at Dawyson and ignores her for days all because she didn’t tell him she found her mate. That’s HER business. River even accused her of hiding stuff from him. She wasn’t hiding anything from him, that was her business and she didn’t have to share it if she didn’t want to. He is also a hypocrite, because he never bothered to tell her that Cillian came over looking for her.

Cillian’s grandma is another one. You send your grandson on a mission and he needs your help but you ignore him repeatedly and then get mad because he was going to go check to see if you okay. Then you go back to ignoring him.

Then the ended…..REALLY???!!!!! A powerful witch tells you to stay put but I’d you leave you won’t be safe and the second she leaves you guys are like Nah let’s just ignore that and leave.

This is book 1 in the Hidden Realm Series. Although this is book 1, Heather writes mini series within the same world. This story is about Cait and Romans daughter, Dawsyn. roman and Cait story takes place in the Luna Marked Series. Heather has a whole set of series within the Mystics and Mayham world and this is just one of them. I suggest doing your research about this magnificent and intricate crossover world. Who knows, you might find a new book boyfriend...or maybe discover a few.

Oh Heather what have you done to my soul..... the end of this book shattered me. I love Dawsyn and Cillian together. A wolf shifter and dragon shifter! How fantastic will they be together! They have a long road ahead before finding their HEA. I'm loving the mystery surrounding the dragons Realm. I look forward to finding out all of the secrets and mysteries surrounding the problems that they are facing. I also can't wait to dig more into Cillian and his background. I feel we only got a glimpse into how amazing he is. You can bet your bottom dollar I will be lining up for book 2 because that cliffy killed me. The bright star in this is that we got to see the snarky Beatrix again! Oh how I LOVE HER ONE LINERS AND SARCASM! This one get 5 stars

The best of Heather's M&M Universe! ❤️‍🔥

Ok I must confess I'm a little biased here because: dragon shifters... don't need to say more, dragon shifters people!!!! 😍
And Cillian is a freaking hot one, you know, grumpy, hotheaded, stubborn, dark hair, greyish eyes... perfection! 🥵
And don't forget Dawsyn (I do a little while reading about Cillian, can't help it 😅)... she got the best traits from Cait and Roman (don't forget that Roman is so hot also 😉)... so we got a beautiful, loyal, strong, stubborn girl, who must have her way, the way she has decided, fates be damn!... or so she thought! 😏
So now, put these two together and we got a FANTASTIC story, bringing to light the Dragon’s Hidden Realm! 🤯... what?, dragons don't exist, right? 😲
God!, it’s so, so good... you NEED to read it people, the best book so far in the M&M Universe... and if you need more convincing, we have some crossovers from the previous series in this same world, including the amazing Beatrix! 😁
Oh but wait, I should warn you, the cliffy is pretty bad 😬, I was so mad at Heather for about two whole minutes 😂... but I do love cliffhangers, because I know the next book will be even better... so run for your copy, get it now!!! ❤️

Amazing 🐺♥️🐉

I have been patiently or not so patiently awaiting A Dragon’s Wolf by Heather Heather Renee. As I absolutely loved the Mystics and Mayhem series and now the series continues with their children💕 This is the first one is which is starting off with Dawsyn, daughter of Roman and Cait. Who without a doubt inherited the best of them, Roman’s strong alpha power and of course Cait’s stubbornness and strong will. Dawsyn is setting off on a journey of self discovery and independence when things don’t go as she had planned. She is not impressed with what fate has decided to put her way. Cillian is on a mission to save his hidden world when Dawsyn’s presents has him rethinking things. No matter how hard they seem to try and fight the bond. Fate seem to have other plans and it seems like one is messing with these two. I loved the chemistry between all the characters. This may have been a slow burn, but was a page turner all the way to the end. With an ending🥺 that definitely has you anticipating the next book. Heather’s books just keep getting better and better.

Another amazing start of the new series addition, “A Dragon’s Wolf”, The Hidden Realm series to the Mystics and Mayhem series collection. Author, Heather Renee writes these stories so well you are drawn in adventures in the first chapter. In “A Dragon’s Wolf” we read about the adventures of Cait and Roman’s daughter, Dawsyn. Dawsyn is a strong, independent alpha and she is ready to leave her pack to find herself and learn of the world. With her best friend, new friends, and the ever infuriating yet very hot looking Cillian, Dawsyn finds an adventure she wasn’t expecting. I love the dragon addition to this world. Heather Renee does an amazing job developing the characters and their relationships to each other. Plus, the action, drama, wit, and humor really make the book an enjoyable experience. The ending does have a quite the cliffhanger but definitely worth the read and the anticipation for book two.

Angsty and full of a lot of unwilling attraction that keeps you flipping through its pages! This is entertaining and did my little fangirlie heart so much good. Who didn't need a continuation of the next generation in the Mystics and Mayhem world!? But you must beware! The ending packs one heckuva punch as it grabs your heart with it's twisty-turns.

Dawsyn is one determined chick who is so focused on her chosen path that she just might push away her destiny. There's so much of her mother in her.

Cillian doesn't have time for distractions and that's exactly what Dawsyn is. She's stubborn but then so is he. And when he falls first, it's just... Everything!

But true love is never easy and an unexpected twist knocks us for a loop.

This is one unforgettable series beginner that will leave you breathless for more!

Dawsyn is a lot like her mama with some of her dad peeking through. Two alphas like Cait and Roman would naturally produce a Dawsyn. Love how Romans "Alpha Tone" don't phase her at all - lol
She is ready to go find out how the human world works. She is looking to find herself, other than the daughter of Cait and Roman.
She moves to the Mystic Academy to live with her best friend River to begin her freedom to find herself and it doesn't include a mate. Fate has other ideas.
Cillian just wants to find a spell to save Drago - his world in another realm. He needs to save his world before he can bond with Dawson. Fate is not having it.
Of course, an evil twist ( thanks Heather), cause hovack in both their plans just as they become to terms with their situation. The ending will leave you hanging, but so worth it. Love the character art also.

Holy hell what did I just read?? So utterly addictive.

What happens in Mystic Academy stays at Mystic Academy. I don't want to even utter a certain person's name, I want to wrap my hands round his neck & strangle the life out of him. I was so excited to read about the adventures of Dawsyn after I realised she was Cait & Romans daughter! You don't have to read the other books prior to this world, but it helps in the crossover of characters, but it's not necessary.

Cillian & Dawsyn's story has been shamazing! It's full of excitement, drama, angst, humour, tension, so many emotions & such a heart stopping ending! I'll be stalking the author until she spills the goodies in the next installment. I'm trying to be careful so that I don't give away any spoilers, but don't hesitate to read this book. Run, don't walk. It's absolutely amazing 👌🐉🐺🖤

Another amazing book from Heather Renee!
I really enjoyed this book and loved that there were family links to a previous series.

There are dual POV’s which was great for understanding why Dawsyn and Cillian act the way they do, I loved the development of their characters and their story.

They both try to fight the pull to each other, Dawsyn is trying to maintain her independence and being “free” while Cillian is focused on finding out why his realm is under attack and there’s a twist I didn’t see coming! Don’t even get me started on the cliffhanger - I need book 2 right now!

I am very invested in these characters and their story, I couldn’t put this book down. It was such a great read and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I highly recommend this book.

For the first installment of this set in the Mystics Universe, Cillian, the dragon shifter and Dawsyn, the wolf shifter are the most stubborn pair ever written to be together. They have a long road ahead of them if they want to solve anything.
Personally I think we need to delve more into the dragons, but I suppose that's part of the charm. The dragons are made to be mysterious and hopefully we find out more about them in the next book. Cillian certainly needs to reveal something soon or I'm sure Dawsyn's going to make his life much harder than it already is.
I don't like cliffhangers, but this one didn't seem to bother me as much for some reason. I think it's because everything was set up with a nice pretty bow that simply needs to be tied together.

I am so annoyed. I bought this book and it’s a cliffhanger. 260 pages and she made it into a cliche cliffhanger! This is the first book I read from this author. I feel like there was not enough of an explanation of certain aspects of the world and outside characters. It was either explained in prior series or just an oversight of the author.

The hero… a dragon shifter, wow that seems great. But he is a cold, standoffish bully.

The world building seems intriguing but too many inconsistencies.

The heroine..oh where do I begin? She is argumentative and bitchy. Rules get rearranged to suit her even though she doesn’t want special treatment. Spoiled brat antics equals a book I regret buying.

This book is a perfect fit for readers who love paranormal romance with a slow-burning pace, where the witty banter between characters crackles with tension and anticipation. The story features fated mates who are reluctant to embrace their destiny, adding another layer of conflict and intrigue to the narrative. As the characters embark on high-stakes adventures, their fiery chemistry intensifies, creating a captivating blend of passion and danger. The fantastical elements of the story are seamlessly woven into the plot, creating a rich and immersive world where the stakes are high and the outcome is uncertain. This book will keep readers on the edge of their seats, eager to discover the fate of these star-crossed lovers.

I absolutely loved Dawsyn and Cillian!!!

Dawsyn leaves her pack to stay with River her best friend at Mystic Academy that her parents and the original families from Mystic and Mayhem world started. She meets Cillian her mate he knows but she doesnt. The mate bond didn't react until Dawsyn touch Cillian because he had to mask himself because noone knows that dragons are still around.
Cillian is at the Academy to find a way to save Drago the dragon world.
There is someone else who is out to stop Cillian will they succeed?

I’m so happy to be back in this world! You don’t have to have read other books set in this world but you’ll get a lot more out of it if you do sicne you’ll know a lot of the characters especially since this one is about a daughter from a previous couple. Dawsyn is a very feisty character just like Cait and she made me grin a lot. There is a lot of angst in this story with some slow burn. I’m excited to see where things are going in this world and for these characters. There’s a good amount of action and some twists and turns which kept me very intrigued.

Eeeek!! I am so freakin excited to learn that this is the next generation!! I loved the similarities between Dawsyn and her mom. I couldn’t help but love the moment Cillian first saw Dawsyn. This is a quick read and i loved every minute of it. The ending was a shocked and I cant wait to see what happens next.
The narrators, Kasi Hollowell and Michael Gallagher did a fabulous job portraying their characters. Their tones and inflections were spot on. Loved listening to the audiobook.

A very special thanks to the author for the gifted ALC.

I am seriously in love with these two already. Dawsyn is amazingly strong and determined. This woman sets her sights and mind on something and she dives in head first. Cillian has zero use for distractions and let me tell you our girl is definitely a distraction but I am here for it. These two but heads and they are not going to have an easy journey but nothing worth keeping and fighting for is ever easy. I am here for their journey and cant wait for more.
