Riley thinks he can just show up in Winter Falls and I’ll jump straight into his arms excited he’s returned to me. Mr. Can’t Answer His Phone For Three Months is more likely to get a slap in the face.

My dream of running my own restaurant is finally coming true. Nothing can stop me now. So what if my contractor up and quit and my handyman needs a break? I got this.

But then the pipes in the diner break.

Of freaking course, that’s the moment Riley shows up. He looks like an advertisement for the Sexy Handyman Weekly with his plaid shirt open to reveal all those hard muscles while I’m covered in toilet water.

Riley needs to turn his tight behind right back around and leave, because I’m not falling into his trap again. I may have gazed into his ocean-blue eyes and fallen instantly in love before, but I know better now. He has no staying power.

I don’t care how many crazy stunts the busybodies of my quirky hometown pull. They can’t convince me to give him a second chance. I’m sticking to my decision no matter how much I long for the comfort of Riley’s arms.

But when he reveals the reason he left me, I start to wonder….

Maybe Riley does deserve another chance.

This second chance small town romantic comedy features a woman who’s been abandoned too many times in the past and isn’t willing to risk it again, a handyman who knows he screwed up but isn’t going to let the love of his life get away again, five brothers who think it’s hilarious to watch their brother get turned down by the woman he loves over and over again, and a whole town of hippies convinced they’re the best matchmakers this side of the Mississippi.

Bragg’s Truth is a standalone novel in The Bragg Brothers Series.

Honestly, I'm a bit confused when it comes to this book. It's marketed as the first in a series, but it was clear in the first few pages by the huge number of characters introduced with minimal back story (that research has shown are main characters in the authors other work) that it can't truly be read as a stand alone or first book. It was impossible to keep up with whose siblings were whose (other than the Braggs family) as the sheer volume made it quite difficult to get the appropriate context.

I did enjoy Moon as a character, but Riley was a doozy. How he treated her, repeatedly and without a good reason or with any sort of common sense or emotional intelligence, was a worry. I don't really see how this was a romance, other than their apparent chemistry when things were 'on'... it was more a focus on past trauma and wearing someone down until their no turns into a yes.

I think the Author has a great writing style and I did enjoy that aspect, but for me personally feel that the story wasn't quite right. I may well have felt differently if I read this after reading her other work first.

Thank you to the Author and BookSirens providing this ARC to me. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

When Moon Star meet Riley, she had thought that he was her soulmate, her perfect match and things were going great right up until she said that she needs to head back home to Winter Falls and Riley ghosted her. Fast forward to present day and Moon Star is finally getting ready to open her own restaurant but it would just seem that nothing is working out the way it should starting with a missing contractor, MIA handyman and a burst pipe, so why wouldn't fate just throw Riley back into the mix right at this very inopportune moment? The Las thing Moon Star needs now is to have Riley trying to woo his way back into her heart or to have the towns busy bodies pushing them together at every chance. Star needs to stick to her resolve regardless of how good Riley looks or how charming and helpful he is trying to be. Well this is a lot easier said than done...

..

Winter Falls is by far the cutest fictional town that I have ever had the privilege of visiting and I just can not get enough of these quirky cute townsfolk! This time round we get the super cute second chance love story of Moon Star and Riley Bragg. I loved that this book picks up right from where we left off in Meet Hate, really getting into the Bragg's family.

..

Moon Star was such a sweet leading lady, but gosh did my heart hurt for her and the fact that she never really knew the feeling of family and that love. As much as I wanted her to get over Riley ghosting her, I couldn't help but understand her reason for holding on to the anger and hurt. As for our hero, well Riley was just the best. He was a total swoon fest. This guy worked the charm down to a tee, I loved seeing him worm his way back into Moon Stars heart.

..

I just loved the chemistry between Moon and Riley, these two had such amazing connection. When things were going right with them they were brilliant, as for their hiccups well those moments only made them stronger. I really liked that this book was packed with emotion and feeling, as much as this was a feel good happy read, there was also a lot of real emotion that made this book just that much more special. As always the townsfolk were my absolute favorite, I loved these meddlesome oldies and all the antics they constantly get up to. Truly they take this series to the next level of funny.

..

Bragg's Truth is a total must read, this emotionally charged, second chance, small town romance ticks all the boxes and keeps you wanting more of Winter Falls!

So happy to be back in Winter Falls!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️

Moon & Riley spent an unforgettable week together, until he completely ghosts her.
Suddenly Riley shows up in Moon’s small town of Winter Falls, and all he wants is one thing - to win her back.

Moon has been abandoned far too many times in her life to trust Riley so easily. Riley has his own baggage, which explains why he left her in the first place.

This is a second chance romance, set in the quirky small town of Winter Falls, where everyone knows (and gets involved in) everyone else’s business. It’s a quick, light read!

While this can be read as a standalone, I definitely recommend going back to the beginning of the stories in this town - starting with My Forever Love (Winter Falls 1).

Read if you enjoy:
⭐️ Second chance
⭐️ Found family
⭐️ Romcom
⭐️ Small town
⭐️ Short chapters
⭐️ Dual POV/first person

Thank you to BookSirens and author D.E. Haggerty for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Putting this on hold because I really felt like I was missing something since I haven't read any of the previous books. I felt no connection to either of these characters and we're dropped in the middle of the conflict with references to prior drama. I might come back to it. Not rating because I only made it through Chapter 3. I did feel like the writing was decent, but the plot was a bit OTT (but again, that may have been because I wasn't around for previous books).

Bragg’s Truth is live. SQUEAL! Finally! I love Moon and Riley’s story so so so much. And can’t wait to share it with you.

Moon has been a side character in the Winter Falls series from the very beginning. She first made an appearance in My Forever Love and she’s been around – in the background ☹ – ever since. Well, no more! It’s time for Moon to get her own story. YEAH!

Moon more than deserves her own love story. This troublemaker who believes she’s the prank queen of Winter Falls is hiding more hurt than you’d think. Can Riley sort her out? Can she give Riley a second chance?

Are you ready for a brand-new romantic comedy about a man who will do anything to get another chance with the woman he loves and how his plan goes marvelously awry? 🤭

✔️ A stubborn chef who’s lonely but too pig-headed to admit it
✔️ A flirty handyman who will do anything to get another chance with his moonbeam
✔️ A gang of elderly matchmakers who are too sneaky for their own good
✔️ Witty banter that will have you laughing out loud
✔️ Hilarious pranks that always seem to go awry
✔️ Quirky small-town romance

Between the ridiculous names of every character and the immature attitudes of almost everyone this one is a hard pass. I made it about 25% through before I had to stop. The problems I have is that everyone talks like they're still in high school and they all dwell on things that don't matter. There is some underlying wokeness in this book which feels placed just to be "cool" or "relevant" but holds to point to the story itself. Plus the two main characters bring absolute nothing of interest to the story. I find rocks more interesting. The only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 if because the plot was a good idea just poorly executed.

Story 🌟
I read the entire book because I did enjoy about an eighth of the plot. It was a great concept just very poorly executed. It has a lot that takes away from it though like the author thinks it’s important that we don’t forget the name of the town is winter falls. It was probably in every other sentence. Some of the interactions just didn’t make sense and came across as childish and immature. Some parts that I’m assuming were meant to be humorous were flat. The go green agenda that is very prevalent absolutely destroys the storyline. It doesn’t add anything to it at all.
Characters 🌟🌟
The MMC was my favorite. He made sense but some of his issues didn’t. The FMC was so so for me. I didn’t really connect with either of them. The interactions between them and the secondary characters was awful. They were mean to each other, and the scenes just didn’t fit and were chaotic. Several times I wondered what did that have to do with anything. And, anyone who has ever had a dog knows better.
Spice🌟
I know it was in there but the go green agenda, the interactions that had me scratching my head, and all the winter falls distracted me so much that I honestly can’t remember it. I know it was later in the story.
Overall if I had absolutely nothing else to read and that was my only option then I might consider reading another one in this series but I think I’d take a nap instead.

This is a crazy book with equally crazy characters, I am so glad that Dena Haggerty decided to introduce another family into Winter Falls. I really didn't want the stories from this wacky place to end.
Winter Falls is a small town in Colorado, established by a hippy community many years ago and most of the hippy ethics still exist, the town is completely carbon neutral, everyone know everyone else's business spurred on by the famous, hilarious "gossip girls" Petal,Sage,Cayenne, Clover and Feather in their matching sweatshirts, they are also the self selected matchmakers in Winter Falls and they have Riley Bragg and Moon Star in their sights.
"I am not your Moonbeam" Moon rants at Riley as he tries to ingratiate himself into her good books.
Moon and Riley had met in San Diego when she was doing a catering course, they had fallen madly in love and she was planning to move there to be with him but since he had dropped her off at the airport for her flight home to Winter Falls....Nothing, he had ghosted her until............
Moon had bought a restaurant in Winter Falls, it had always been her dream but her dream was quickly turning into a nightmare when she realised what a state it was in and she had so little money to fix it.....enter Riley Bragg, handsome handyman extraordinaire, recently moved to Winter Falls to be with his brothers and determined to win Moon back.
This story follows Moon and Riley's tempestuous road to their HEA, Moon's reluctance to trust him not to walk again, Riley's insecurities that stem from having a father that was a serial philanderer, the witty banter between Moon and her best friend Ashlyn and between the Bragg brothers, the emotion of moon's loneliness after being left alone in her teens and the love that she felt when she was welcomed by Clementine and Eagle into their family.

Bragg's Truth by D.E. Haggerty

**possible spoilers**

Fool me once, blame on you, fool me twice…

Personally, for me, the criteria for a great book is that it makes me FEEL. This time the author made me feel enormously disappointed, in a good way :) I was angry at Riley for being such an inconsiderate idi*t, for breaking his promises to Moon. His reasons were too simplistic to hold any ground. I was disappointed that Moon was so naive and forgiving. I was really hoping that this time the author would go a different route - one where Moon would never forgive Riley for breaking her heart twice (I know I couldn't), and there would be a twist: she would walk away, start a new life and the story would continue with Moon finding her true happiness with a better and more deserving boyfriend. But when Eagle said to Moon, "Darling, nothing in life is perfect. It's messy and complicated and full of twists and turns. Enjoy the ride", it made sense why Moon finally gave Riley a third chance. I was so happy she finally got her love, family, and support. The Winter Falls towners are as quirky and funny as ever. The Gossip Girls are as nosy as they get. But don't forget; there is a valid reason why they are such avid matchmakers. It was explained in one of the earlier books in the Winter Falls series, and it is an excellent reason. Go, Gossip Girls!

PS. You can not only read the text but also hear and smell it. Placing four little letters Pfft in a perfect spot in the story - that's some terrific comical talent :)

Second chance romcom with heat and heart

Bragg's Truth (Winter Falls Bragg Brothers Series Book 1) by D. E. Haggerty is definitely a romcom with some really fantastic characters! Both Riley and Moon carry significant emotional baggage that they both try to overcome. But stubborn is as stubborn does! Just as Riley has a sure second chance, he backpedals and ruins his chances, maybe for good!
The interactions between Riley and Moon as well as Riley and his brothers, then Moon and Ashlyn are highly entertaining and bring a welcome balance of levity to the tougher emotional stuff. While this is a romcom with a heavy dose of humor throughout, it's not light on the emotional aspects of the characters.
I love Riley and Moon together. Moon is a sweetheart trying to live her dream and seeming to run into obstacle after obstacle while nursing a broken heart. The heart breaker, Riley, is determined to make Moon his once and for all and set out to win her back. Riley is a sweet Hero for Moon and does everything he can to help her realize her dreams of the diner.
Overall, our sweet Hero Riley has a doofus moment and makes his first mistake again and breaks Moon's heart. His second chance is now a third time's a charm. And yes, he does charm Moon into giving him his forever. It's going to be a fun series as each of the Bragg Brothers meet their match whether they are ready or not!
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

Trope- 2nd chance (with a small town involved now)
It was a cute book
But there was a lot going on.... So The Bragg Brothers are a lot in a good way but they are crazy, funny, and go at each other with no end (def adds a lot of humor). It is kinda hard to keep up with them at times but again not a bad thing just a lot of back and forth.
This is the 1st book in the series and it's good but it does feel like we are missing a bit in the beginning. We are kinda just thrown into all of what is going on and the backstory somewhat comes to us in little bits at a time and later, rather than in the beginning. I feel like it would have been better to have a few chapters at the start of the book to set the stage.
Main Characters in this book (the relationship in center stage): Moon & Riley
Moon- has no family around and has family issues
while Riley- has a big family and some dad issues
Moon was trying to be sooo tough and keep Riley away from her and her heart but there is way too much chemistry between the two. And Riley is very determined to make her his again.
She is scared about him just up and leaving her again. They were having some stubborn moments where communication was the issue.
Can't wait for the next book in the series and see what Brother's story we get to hear.

I was able to read this ARC and am thankful to the publisher and Booksiren for this opportunity.

A week of romance to a three month communication silence doesn't leave a girl inclined to renew a relationship.

Moon and Riley spent an amazing week together in San Diego, but he ghosted after they went back to their separate home towns. Imagine Moon's surprise when she sees Riley in her hometown. He proceeds to woo her over and over whilst dealing with his own insecurities.

I have mixed feelings about this book. The lack of communication was a huge problem in this book which really ended up irking me. I just wanted to scream at Riley to just tell Moon why he was behaving the way he was. The constant repetition of him messing up due to his inability to express his feelings and her taking him back and having faith in him became less and less believable each time. I did love the characters and how they behaved when together. They were cute and extremely funny like all of Winter Falls couples.

It's common knowledge that I enjoy taking a peep back into Winter Falls. D.E. Haggerty having additional stories has allowed for all of us to experience the quirky characters that reside within the town. The Gossip Gals continue to be a hoot and the preface to Miller and Eden's love story is extremely exciting since Miller is extremely grumpy. I can't wait to see what antics the town utilizes to bring these two together!

I am so happy we are getting more Winter Falls! I have absolutely fallen in love with this town!

This story starts the Bragg Brothers series and in this one we have Riley and Moon. Moon is a Winter Falls native and Riley has come to town after discovering he has a half brother named Peace who lives there. Moon and Riley actually meet in California and have a very quick love affair after which Riley ghosts Moon.

This story centers around Moon trying to open her own restaurant and Riley's attempt to win her back after realizing what he lost with her. It's a tough fought battle and includes the usual cast of characters but the Gossip Gals are front and center as always. Moon is very hesitant to give Riley another chance due to her upbringing. She fights him at every turn despite his efforts to help her get her restaurant up and running. All Moon really wants is an explanation for what happened and why he cut ties with her in the first place. The answer is one that Riley is hesitant to share.

I love that we still get characters from the prior books and now we have what were previously secondary characters getting their own HEA!

So good!! I say this every time and I will continue too - I love Winter Falls!! I was so happy to hear that Dena wasn’t going to make me part ways with the quirky little town! Bragg’s Truth was the first book in her new Winter Falls Bragg Brothers series. It was full of witty banter, sweetness, and all the laugh out loud moments!

Moon was ready to have her dream finally come true. Owning her own restaurant was so close to being complete until the pipes broke. She knew she was in over her head and to make matters worse, the handyman that showed up should just walk right back out the door. Riley had ghosted her for months and now wanted to help? Would Moon give in and let him back in her life or would she deny him a second chance?

Gah!! This whole town! I loved getting to see previous characters and getting to know new ones. Riley and Moon were so good together. I am glad she made him grovel! I can’t wait to see what happens next!

On a side note - there are a lot of characters in this one so If you haven’t, you should check out her other Winter Falls series too! Wouldn’t want to miss all the fun!!

When the man who ghosted her after an amazing week together turns up in town looking for a second chance Moon isn’t feeling too forgiving. Riley knew about Moon’s issues with attachment due to her past but still left her anyway due to his own issues. It takes a lot of grovelling and being there for her every day as she tries to get her new diner opened for her to open her heart to him again. Then he goes and messes up again. Boy, did I want to shake him! The whole town seems invested in trying to get them back together and luckily for Riley, Moon is a lot more forgiving than I am! Moon was loving, strong, independent but a little lonely. Riley was loyal, caring and determined to show Moon she realises could rely on him. I loved how he shared the one thing she longed for with him, his family. I love small town romance full of quirky characters, (there definitely seemed to be plenty of troublemakers) interconnected stories and adorable animals and this story has it all so I’ll even forgive the high jacking of Hogmanay! There are threads throughout the story to the Winter Falls series which makes me want to go read them now.

I’m going to consider this my try out for the Gossip Girls, prematurely of course, and give up the goods on this fantastic book! First, let me say, I am so glad the Winter Falls “series” is continuing since we keep adding more characters… and we meet more new ones in this book, with the potential for soooo much more! The Bragg brothers…they are definitely characters, and while I can’t wait to read Eden and Miller’s story next, I’m really curious to see who is going to wrangle Brody! The transition from Peace’s story to Riley and Moon’s was seamless and I am so glad we get to see Clementine come into her own in a BIG way! And Moon is no longer the side character we’ve seen throughout the series. However, learning more about her backstory makes me understand a little more why she never stood out, she was always a “supporting” role. Well, not anymore! Riley needs to atone for his mistake, which I guarantee is NOT what you think it, and see if he can get back his girl.

I highly recommend this book. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I love Winter falls.More books set in winter falls and this time the Bragg brothers are targeted by the matchmakers.

The first book in the series is Riley and Moon's second chance romance.Moon fell instantly in love with Riley when they first met and they spent a week together. Then he ghosted her.

Now he has moved to Winter Falls,to Moon's small town and wants a second chance. She is not so forgiving and when he turns up on her doorstep and tells her he is her new handyman she is not happy.

Between Riley wanting to prove himself to her,his meddling brother's,Moon's best friend Ashlyn, the gossip girls who think of themselves as the town's matchmakers, she doesn't stand a chance.

Absolutely loved this laugh out loud romantic comedy with all my favourite character's from winter falls, their antics, sibling fun,a new couple and a sweet happily ever after.

Cannot wait for Miller and Eden's romance really looking forward to that.

Laugh-Out-Loud Rom-Com Set in the Quirky, Green Town of Winter Falls

Once we finished the West and Dempsey families we feared out time in Winter Falls was over - but enter the Bragg Brothers - all FOUR of them - half-brothers to Peace (who we met in Meet Hate). They are funny, nutty brothers getting into mischief and a blast to read about. If you have read previous Winter Falls books you will recognize and remember many of the town's quirky and hysterical characters - especially the "Gossip Girls". I was happy to see Moon get her own story as she is a background character in many of the previous books and Riley is a good match for her. Neither if them is perfect, and they are both bringing baggage into the relationship, but their banter is great, chemistry off the charts, and they work well together. I can't wait for the next Bragg brother to get his story and if the tension between Eden and Miller is a hint it is going to be a doozy. Enjoy!

Welcome back to Winter Falls! Moon is renovating the diner in town, so she can finally achieve her dream of owning a restaurant. Unfortunately, the diner is in much worse shape than she realized, so she needs a handyman. Who shows up to help her out? None other than Riley Bragg, the man she fell in love with and then ghosted her while she was in culinary school.

Riley and his brothers have moved to Winter Falls after discovering their half brother, and he's set on making Moon fall in love with him again. He knows he was wrong for ghosting her, and wants to explain, but she's been abandoned one too many times, and isn't ready to forgive him that easily.

I love reading about quirky Winter Falls, and look forward to watching more of the Bragg brothers fall to the Gossip Girls and their sneaky matchmaking operations!

Moon has been a background character and I was glad for her to get her story. I really felt for her - to be abandoned by her parents AND left alone by her friends. I was really mad at ALL the Winter Falls people who didn’t reach out to her, but ESPECIALLY the Gossip Gals! They make a point to have their noses in everything. THEY SHOULD’VE KNOWN! Riley really WAS a coward and an ass. After telling Moon he loves her and he’ll always be there for her and knowing how abandoned she’s always felt, he breaks up with her because it’s “better for her.” B-f’ing-S! It’s only better for him because heaven forbid he try to be a better man for Moon than his dad was for his mother! As always, as soon as I got the book, I read as fast as I could!

Another fun read in the Winter Fall’s series.
Moon was left at home by her parents when she was 16 years old, and they went travelling, never to return.
Whilst on a trip to San Diego, she meets and falls in love with Riley, and they start to plan moving in together.
But after she returns home to Winter Falls, Riley “ghosts” her, and she feels abandoned yet again.

This is Moon & Riley’s story, which is sweet & steamy, and at times, heartbreakingly sad, and at others, funny.
The usual characters in Winter Falls are all there, with the addition of Riley’s family, who have moved en masse to the quirky town.
I enjoyed it immensely, and know fans of the author and the Winter Falls Series will not be disappointed.

Just when you think you can’t fall anymore in love with the characters of Winter Falls, Haggerty creates the Bragg Brothers.

Moon Star is a headstrong, independent trouble maker who has a hard time trusting anyone. This is only made worse by the mistakes of one particular Bragg Brother.

Riley Bragg is a passionate flirt whose opinions of himself are shattered by the sins of his father leading him to make the mistake of leaving the live of his life.

After moving to Winter Falls, Riley makes it his mission to win back Moon but as they reconnect, their issues threaten to break them apart again.

This is a small town, second chance romance with a hint of spice, a group of annoying brothers and interfering gossip girls. What more could Haggerty have in store.

We are back in Winter Falls and the Bragg brothers are up! We learned about them in their half-brother Peace's book. This is a beautiful run second chance romance. D.E. Haggerty brings the humor that I love so much. I was laughing and chuckling through out the book. The Gossip Gals are up to their matchmaking ways yet again. When all the Bragg brothers get together it's so much fun. Their banter and the way they pick on one another like any siblings was one of my favorite parts of the book. Riley has a lot of work to do if he wants to win back Moon, but major props to him because he knows what he needs to do and does it. Yes, there are some bumps in the road, but so happy where they end up! I love Ashlyn and Moon's friendship. Those women are ride or die. I can't wait to dive into the next book!!

Moon Star met the love of her life...after a week. And then it all turned to sh!t when she mentioned she had to go back home to Winter Falls. She had no idea why, but Riley ghosted her. No matter, Moon has always done life on her own so she'll get past this too. Except Riley turns up in Winter Falls and he's looking to win Moon back. Moon doesn't do second chances...but she still loves Riley. Can she give him a second chance? Can Riley get over his hang ups and be with Moon?

Oh Moon! She is just so fun and fiesty. The perfect best friend to Ashlyn. And Riley...he's just really a good guy. Such a great match. Can't wait for more of the Bragg brothers. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my review.

The Bragg brothers have moved to Winter Falls and become the next targets for the gossip gals. Winter Falls never disappoints! The familiar townsfolk play their parts but this one was all about Riley and his chosen one, Moon. Moon born and raised in Winter Falls falls has had a rough go since her parents took off to see the world leaving her on her own at sixteen. She grew up not relying on anyone and has a hard time accepting help. Riley grew up being compared to his cheating father. Does the apple fall far from the tree? He should leave her be but can he live without her? They have some bumps and bruises, lol, but Winter Falls with a little help from the gals always delivers. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

RILEY AND MOON

I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review.

Riley Bragg is Peace Sky’s half-brother and he has a phobia that makes him think that he isn’t worthy of love. He ghosted Moon Star and found that he didn’t want to exist without her in his world. I love the way that Riley continues to fight for Moon’s forgiveness. I also like the familial effect of his brothers and their unorthodox ways. When it comes to figuring himself out, Riley finds a way to show Moon that he is there for her no matter what. This story makes you want to shake Riley and cry tears for Moon because of her misguided perceptions of the citizens of Winter Falls. This is I don’t want to put it down book.

I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I love a good second chance romance and this book was all things second chance and small town shenanigans at it's finest. The "gossip gals" and all the quirky sayings had me grinning like a goof. I really enjoyed getting in the head of the mfc and the mmc. They were expressing themselves as well as talking to the reader, which I found to be a fun read. It was 2.3/5 level spicy, but the tension was real lol. I found myself quarrelling with the mfc mostly, but then also the mmc. I was annoyed at different points at them both. But that's how a good book draws you in. You get engrossed in it and talk to the characters . An overall good read.
