Midlife can go to hell. I can't believe he showed up here... the ex.
Right when things are getting good—like I might actually have this whole Alpha thing under control—good.
Or I'm ready to go on a date with the hottest guy I've laid eyes on—so good he could melt my panties off—good.
But now, the ex is here, throwing his weight around, and pulling all the shots with me and the kids. (Who, by the way, are as excited about his arrival as I am.)
Worst of all, I have to take it, smile pretty, and pretend as though I couldn't snap him in half with my wolfish super-strength. Because, let's face it, him finding out about my new world would be the end of it.
I never thought I'd miss the days when Silas was the big bad.
I gotta get my ex out of town or this new Alpha’s gonna summon some hellfire, the likes of which this pack has never seen. •• ★ ••

The Accidental Alpha is back again with the third book in the series Midlife Wolf Mate. This series just keeps on getting better and better with each turn of the page. Midlife Wolf Mate had me on the edge of my seat clawing my way to the end. Once again I was pulled into Ella’s world as my own just seemed to disappear.
Ella or more like her ex kept me hanging on. Yeah, Ella’s ex, Troy is back in town and wants to spend more time with Avery and Asher than he ever did when he and Ella were married. Well, Ella doesn’t want him around and neither do the kids. I mean they care about their dad but they do wish he would go away.
Ella has a new man in her life or at least that is where she would like him to be if her ex would leave her and the children alone long enough for a relationship to build that is. With Troy around Ella has to stay on her toes as she does not trust him at all. Yeah, Troy is back and he wants to pick up right where they left off with him being in control of all of their lives.
But all Ella can do is grin and bear his little self. I mean she could rip him in two if she so desired as she is a werewolf. A fact that her ex is not aware of. Oh, boy if he did? If Troy knew that werewolves existed what would that entail?
Midlife Wolf Mate is filled with suspense and action from beginning to end that just keeps you coming back for more. The world-building is one of the best I have seen. You feel as if you have known all the characters your whole life. You feel as if you are a part of their world ready to take on their enemies with them.
I can’t wait for the next book Midlife Wolf Bond. That title alone says it all. I can’t wait to read more about Ella, Avery, Asher, and Stone. I can’t wait to see where Midlife Wolf Bond takes us.

Get ready for one amazing adventure everyone! Ella and Stone are back, and to say they have some *obstacles* is putting it mildly 😆. We pick up right where book two left...with the surprise return of the ex from Hades. Is it any surprise throughout this entire gem I kept hearing the melodic refrains of Pat Benatar in my mind as Ella's theme song ("Love is a Battlefield ")? Add one troublesome ex overstating his welcome and causing trouble, a mysterious pack nobody can find entering their territory, and two cranky teens- stir, and you have a recipe for one doozy of a read indeed. Ella certainly has her hands full in this one, but is starting to come into her alpha-ness. I can't wait to see her when she's truly comfortable in her role. I adore these characters, and am thoroughly enjoying watching Ella blossom as she gains her tribe. Filled with colorful characters, action galore, intrigue, romance, family, strong female characters, and humor...these pages will keep you coming back for more. I highly recommend this book, and the entire series! Two VERY STRONG thumbs up from this reader ❤.
Another great adventure in the continuing saga of Ella. Ella is snarky, funny, a great mom to 2 kids and the alpha of the werewolf pack in Black Crater. She's working on starting her life over and on her blossoming fated relationship with Stone, who is the beta of her pack. Then the conniving ex husband shows up disrupting her and her children's lives, and her relationship. Another pack starts to infiltrate her territory putting everyone in danger. Interested yet? You should be. The characters are wonderful, and written as only Carissa Andrews can. The plot is exciting and eventful. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next book.
This was so good I read it in one sitting! I am not thrilled to wait for the next one but will because I know it’s worth it! I love the female alpha and supportive mate dynamic. Also the side characters are very lovable.
Ella, Stone, kids and pack are back and they mean business. The accidental alpha series is back and it's back with a vengeance. With the whole town in danger and an ex that just won't get the hint to get lost, Ella must find a way to put her chaotic life in order to find the threat and send them back on their way. Nothing is as it seems but with a betrayal this big can they come back from it or will it be the pack's downfall, Ella's downfall as alpha. I absolutely loved reading this book, it gets better as it goes along. With incredible characters that are easily relatable to and storylines that showcases a parents struggle as well as every day tasks what's not to love. Can't wait for the next book.
"Midlife Wolf Mate" finds Ella and Stone trying to find a way to have sexy time. Unfortunately, there is a lot of issues that keep getting in the way especially the arrival of Ella's ex-husband, Troy. Ella is not the only one bothered by Troy's arrival. The Asher and Avery are none too pleased that there father is attempting to barrel his way back into their lives. As Ella attempts to figure out what to do about Troy, her friendship continues to grow with Jinx and Alanna. The pack is not happy about this but Ella makes it clear she will not suffer their pre-conceived ideas about her new friends.
If that is not enough, there is another pack attempting to breach their territory. Yet, no one has seen them. Could someone be working with them to help hide their presence? One thing for sure, if Ella's pack is going to hold on to their territory, they will need to find out.
There are some truly good moments in this installment; but, it was also a source of frustration with me as well. It is clear that the author is stalling Ella and Stone getting together and quite frankly it is irritating. Also, Ella and the pack keep letting other packs come into their territory and then leave fully in tact. She has been labeled this badass; yet, she hasn't taken down any of her enemies yet. Let's face it, werewolves traditional don't suffer fools lightly and while I understand the author is trying to sell Ella as a new kind of leader, she is coming across as inept or weak. Hopefully, this trend with change in the 4th installment. Only time will tell.
I thoroughly enjoyed this continuing tale of Ella, 'the Accidental Alpha'. She is such a compassionate being, a great mum, and gives her all in everything she does, but this time she's taken her eye off the ball.
As she's leaving with the scrummy Stone on a date, her scheming ex-husband, Troy, turns up wanting to see the kids, Asher and Avery. Why now? What is he up to? As the fabulous Johnny Nash used to sing, "There are More Questions Than Answers", yes, many, many more... and neither Ella nor Stone trust Troy's motives. Even his kids don't want him around.
The storyline unfolds with plenty of action and twists, and her werewolf pack is in grave danger. As you would expect from Carissa Andrews, the story draws you in from the first page and you're back very quickly into Ella's world in Black Crater. I love these characters so much and book four can't come quick enough for me. I'm sure that Ella and Stone feel the same way!
I chose an ARC of this work, which I voluntarily and honestly read and reviewed. All opinions are my own.
Just when Ella feels like things are starting to settle down and she and her kids are adapting to their very new reality, her ex shows up unexpectedly. For a man who, in the past, wasn't very interested in the kids, he suddenly acts like he wants to be 'Dad of the year', puts Ella's relationship with Stone on the back burner, and causes no end of stress for fear that he'll find out about Ella's new circumstances, which will threaten the pack and her children. Throw in another attempted mysterious incursion by a pack with bad intentions, her wanna-be werewolf teenager, and the mayhem occurring from close contact with a chaos demon, and you have another lively, fun, and well edited story. Fortunately, this one ends with a tease into the next book; no dramatic cliff hangers like the last one, which I like when the next book isn't out yet and I can't read it right away. I do recommend this series, it's a good one.
Ella's relationships are central to her reorientation to her new Alpha life. She and her teenagers are wonderfully believable in their interactions, including the interactions with her ex, their father. The layers of Stone's and Ella's relationship unfold naturally. I enjoyed their growing bond and their care to communicate clearly in order to understand each other's perspective, needs, and priorities. Her friendships with Alanna and Jinx add another dimension to her new life. Ella ignores her role as Alpha while her pack waits for her to become an active leader.
I look forward to watching her grow into her relationships and leadership in the next book.
Carissa Andrews' "Midlife Wolf Mate" is a captivating werewolf romance, blending suspense and passion flawlessly. The mature, relatable protagonist embarks on an enthralling journey, challenging stereotypes and embracing self-discovery. The sizzling chemistry between characters and the outstanding world-building make this book a rare gem in the genre. With its skillful storytelling and powerful themes, it's an absolute must-read for anyone seeking a thrilling romance with a touch of the supernatural. "Midlife Wolf Mate" will leave you howling for more! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This series is so cute! Probably not the adjective te author would like - but it really makes me think cozy paranormal. I love the MC is older adult female- the ex coming back was crazy spin. This is the third in the series and I am enjoying the ride, however I liked this installment less than the previous two - fet like it jumped around an awful lot and I am still not sure how the vanilla ex husband even got involved with the bad guys? Needs more explanation and less movement? I WILL read the next one as I am invested and like the characters!!!
I give 3.5 ⭐️- down from a 4- due to the usual antics of the writer. The FMC is the queen of I’ll deal with it later and, as usual, things blow up in her face. This third installment also doesn’t move the relationship with her fated mate or her pack any further. In fact, she neglects them both while focusing on the wrong things. I mean she just can’t get it right and at this point I’m voting for her to be kicked out of her own pack 🤷🏽♀️
I had high hopes for this series as something refreshing but perhaps the author needs more time to mature in her writing.
Ella is getting to terms with being a werewolf and an Alpha. Her relationship with Stone is heating up. All seams well. Until her ex show up and things start falling apart. The ex is a true ex from hell, her kids bring their own problems and on top of all that a strange pack is prowling the grounds unseen. In the meantime, her being Ella, she befriends some interesting lovable creatures. She will need them in the upcoming fight with the "invisible pack".
This story is getting better and better. Well written, roller coaster action, fun dialog, great characters. And the cliffhanger is amazing!
So, so good! Ella's ex arrives in town and everyone in the pack is trying to run him out of town, but he's a stubborn jerk. I love these characters. And this isn't your 'normal' werewolf story. These are people who happen to be werewolves, just trying to live their lives and be happy. It's truly a joy to read.
Ella is becoming a favorite!!! I’m so ready for her and stone to have their moment. Her kids are awesome- and typically teenagers do weird things- but still good kids. I’m loving more and more of the pack. Jinx is hilarious! And Alanna has my interest. I can’t wait for book 4 after that bombshell!!
Ella really has her hands full now. Not only is she working towards mating with Stone, but her ex Troy has shown up as well to ruin everything left. Then another pack is sniffing around her territory and well you see.. This was fast paced and full of drama and action. This one just keeps getting better.
Love this author and her stories. This one doesn’t disappoint. Ella finds herself exploring new friendships and deepening the old ones. Her kids become more involved in their new life and begin making decisions about their own lives. Stone continues to stand beside his Alpha, there’s new trouble in town, read to find out this latest installment.
I can sing Carissa's praises all day long. She creates a wonderful world with her writing and this book is no different. It's a rollercoaster of emotions and adventures when you get to hang out with Ella and her pack.
I look forward to the next boom in the series and more from Carissa.
I received an ARC copy and voluntarily leaving a review.
Thing’s definitely becoming complicated. The ex, someone new, how will this all turn out. Light hearted, a book everyone will love. Intriguing characters that make the story what it is. Ready for more.
Writing and plot and villain were sophmoric, cartoon-like and predictable. Heroine is no longer kickass, she needs to be in therapy re: her being manipulated and bullied by her Ex to the detriment of her children, her relationship and her pack. This story barely held my interest. Disappointed. 2.5 Stars
I think I'm just bored with the series as nothing really changes. Ella continually finds excuses to avoid the bond, even when it puts the pack in jeopardy. After 3 books of basically the same plot, I give up.
This is the 3rd book in the series and the first one I've read, I have to get to the other 2 ASAP!! The flow is great, the action is fantastic and the characters exceptional!! I can't wait to read the rest!!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is well written.. I found the humor good, and I could not put it down. If you have not read the first two in this series, this series is worth the read, and definitely worthy of being recommend.
