Love defies logic when two polar opposites attract.
Chloe and Brandon have nothing in common. She’s a spontaneous, people-loving fiber artist; he’s an uptight, introverted law student. The only thing they agree on during their blind date is that they hope to never see each other again.
Except they do have something in common—Brandon’s mother Dawn, who happens to be Chloe’s boss and dear friend. Which is how they end up stuck with each other for a six-hour road trip to Dawn’s destination wedding.
But as they get to know each other better, their mutual irritation morphs into an inescapable connection. Maybe these two opposites aren't so mismatched after all. Could Brandon be the yin to Chloe’s yang? The peanut butter to her jelly? The rock to her roll?
Or will their differences tear them apart when they return to their normal lives at the end of the wedding weekend?
'Ewe Complete Me' is a full-length contemporary romance and can be read as a standalone. Book #6 in the Common Threads series, Seduction in the City World, Penny Reid Book Universe.

'EWE COMPLETE ME' by Susannah Nix is a delightful romance tale that showcases the magic of opposites attracting. In this new addition to Penny Reid’s book universe , we meet Chloe and Brandon, seemingly worlds apart in personality and interests. Chloe exudes spontaneity and creativity as a fiber artist, while Brandon is a reserved law student. Yet, fate, in the form of a blind date set up by Brandon's mother (who also happens to be Chloe's boss and friend), throws them together for an unexpected road trip. As their initially irksome dynamics evolve through the journey, a beautiful and undeniable connection forms. Nix paints a vivid and endearing picture of love sprouting amidst differences, leaving readers hoping for a harmonious conclusion for these mismatched souls. Opposites attract, indeed. Brandon and Chloe are as different as different can be, but they work together nicely once they get past the mess of their initial meeting. As Chloe puts it, sometimes you have to find someone completely unlike you before you realize what it's like to be whole. To be fair, however, it takes a while before they reach that point. (Also to be fair, Chloe completely acknowledges that she doesn't need someone to make her whole, but it is really nice to have a special someone's support during trying times.)
Brandon has to keep himself on task with notes and spreadsheets and a structured schedule. Without knowing his reason for needing all these things, Chloe sees someone uptight and judgmental who doesn't respect her or her time. Which is a big mood-killer for her given how her parents treat her.
But Brandon has layers. He might be a little awkward in social situations, but he never set out to purposefully hurt Chloe's feelings. So when he does, it gnaws at him. Being stuck together in a car for six hours seems like a terrible plan, but it doesn't take long before they're starting to see other sides of one another.
One accidental couples massage, a ham-handed set-up by Brandon's younger brother, more than a few steamy kisses, a art exhibition, family in all its permutations, a man trying to figure himself out, and a lady who needs someone solidly in her court when things get tough. These two are opposites, but they make things work. Eventually.
This one has all the feels. It built upon the stories in the other Ewe books in the series. Where Dawn, Tess and the rest of the people all work together to save the day. They bring their community to support Chloe and Brandon. I love how Donal gives Bran a wake up call to keep him from becoming unhappy and making mistakes that Donal made. These people weren’t really a cohesive unit before this book, but this time it was a total team goals met. What an excellent book!
For starters, his name was Bran. Not only did it bring to mind high-fiber laxatives and regular bowel movements, it sounded like the kind of one-syllable name favored by too many of the douchebags I’d known in high school.
I continued to stare at him in a sort of daze. Maybe Franz Mesmer had been onto something with that animal magnetism theory after all. Or perhaps my date was secretly a centuries-old Transylvanian noble with hypnotic powers who slept in a box filled with dirt from his homeland in the Carpathian Mountains.
“What did he do?” Angie asked in the hard, dangerous tone of someone already plotting the best way to dispose of a body.
“What a jagweed,” Angie said with a scowl. “I hope he gets a fungus on his scrotum that doesn’t respond to treatment.”
Angie was the wacky, protective aunt who’d help you key the word “dildo” onto the car of someone who’d done you wrong.
As I stepped out of the car, I had that same jarring feeling you got when you first walked out of a movie theater and realized you were in the real world again instead of the fantasy world you’d been immersed in for the last three hours.
My Review:
This was a smirk-worthy and witty delight from start to finish. The characters were uniquely and indelibly rendered with realistic flaws and significant conditions and challenges to manage in their daily lives, yet they were also deeply endearing and intriguing. The storylines were smartly written, well-paced, engaging, and cleverly amusing, while they sparkled with sharp wit, perceptive observations, and zippy banter. I do believe I have become a Susannah Nix acolyte.
I was provided an ARC of this book via the author and Smartypants Romance, al opinions are my own.
This is the 6th book in the series, however it reads completely as a standalone. There are other characters mentioned in the book that have had their own books written by the same author so if you want to read Dawn and Mike's story read Mad About Ewe, and Donal and Tess' story is Not Since Ewe. You can find some of the other characters in Penny Reid's Knitting in the City series, which is what spawned the whole Smartypants Romance Universe.
This follows Brandon, Dawn's son, as he tries his hand at online dating. He is socially awkward and his ADHD makes him come off as kind of a jerk when he really doesn't mean to. Chloe on the other hand is his complete opposite and happens to work for his mother. When they match on the dating app and have an epically terrible first date, things don't look like they will pan out, but when Bran and Chloe are forced to spend several hours together driving to Dawn's wedding because neither of them want to disappoint Dawn they find that the app might not have been wrong after all. Chloe is an aspiring textile artist and feels emotions deeply. Her parents were kind of crappy and while she is very talented she has lacked the support network she needed to feel confident about her abilities. Bran other the other hand has had a wonderfully supportive mother and a father who values drive and performance above all. He is confused about what he wants for his future, but he knows he is really good at it and will be a successful lawyer if he wants to be.
I really liked that Chloe and Bran offset each other so nicely. The both valued each other's feelings and needs. She made him ditch the perfect plans and be a little spontaneous while he built her up and step out of her comfort zone and take chances with her art and career that she was putting off. They both had to face fears and were supportive of each other while coming to conclusions about their own needs on their own. I loved the supportive cast of characters as well. While we see alot of growth from the main characters on their own, it wouldn't have been possible without the side characters to provide support and advice for them to get them to where they needed to be.
Overall, I really enjoyed getting to know these two characters and watch as their relationship develop.
I'm enjoying this seduction in city series by susanah nix. The first two books are centered on more mature main characters center around the yarn shop Mad About Ewe. This third book is another worker in the shop Chloe who is an art major. She goes on a blind date from a dating app and meets the an attractive guy Bran but his personality during the date turns her off. Turns out he's her boss's son. She doesn’t know but his weird quirks are part of his coping mechanisms for his ADHD.
I don’t particularly know the ins and outs of this disorder. So I'm learning as I read. Chloe and Bran has an awkward start and both opposites, so this road trip to Dawn's wedding will be a different experience for both. It turns out to be a boon. The more the experience highs and lows of the trip the more they get to know each other and appreciate the other more. Their closeness starts to form feelings which carried over the wedding weekend.
The question is, will their opposite ways complete each other or repel each other after things progress. How will they manage their own schedules and priorities? With Chloe bysy with her art exhibit and Bran with his law internship? Which will give way? I enjoyed Bran and Chloe and their banter. Very relatable.
************
I really liked this romance about forced proximity, certainly Chloe and Bran both fall in love very quickly, but they talk a lot and there are many dialogue scenes that reflect their chemistry.
It all starts with a blind date gone wrong, their first impressions aren't the best, they are the opposite of each other in everything. However, the universe is great because Chloe works for Dawn, who is Bran's mother. Dawn is getting married soon, the party is several hours away, and Bran offers to carpool with Chloe when they each discover who they are.
As the hours pass, Chloe and Bran become more familiar with each other, opening up a little more about their lives, their projects, their difficulties... And the first negative impressions disappear to make way to 2 personalities, always very different, but who understand each other. What's better than a wedding party to try to bring their body together ?
We can say that Chloe and Bran are a couple full of cuteness. We spend a very good time reading this book.
I received an ARC from @smartypantsromance today. This was such a sweet and emotional love story. This series is a wonderful one and this author never disappoints.
When Chloe walks out of the date from hell she doesn't expect to see the man she left behind ever again. But the next day he walks into the yarn shop where she works to pick up his mother for lunch--who also happens to be Chloe's boss and one of her favorite humans. Despite an initial physical attraction, she and Bran are total opposites so she avoids him at all costs. That is, until she needs a ride to his mother's destination wedding. Cue the two spending hours on a road trip together!
I really, really enjoyed this novel. I love road trip romances, found Chloe's work as a textile artist super interesting, and thought the pair's chemistry was off the charts! I was shipping them so hard from the beginning and was so glad to see everything work out. Having the wedding of a couple from another book was also a nice bonus treat. I will say, I didn't love how this book seemed to suggest it was impossible to have a relationship while in biglaw or that public interest legal work was any less demanding. By the end, I became a bit uncomfortable with its portrayal of the legal profession, but tried to set it aside as I knew it wouldn't bother most readers.
Thanks to the author and Smartypants Romance for my eARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own. This one is out now!
Ewe Complete Me is is book #6 in the Common Threads series, Seduction in the City world, Penny Reid Book Universe. This is a new adult enemies-to-lovers, opposites-attract steamy romance and will be enjoyed more if read after Mad about Ewe.
Chloe Carpenter is a spontaneous fiber artist who is covered in tattoos and sports an undercut. She yearns for love and affection since her single mother never said “I love you” or hugged her. She received a little praise from her grandma who taught her to knit, but no affection. She adores working for Dawn Botstein at her upscale yarn store where she gets to interact with positive people.
Brandon “Bran” Botstein is an uptight, introverted law student currently doing an internship at a prestigious Chicago law firm. He has struggled with severe ADHD his whole life and has a strict regimen to manage it. He absolutely lives by spreadsheets and even inputs notes on his blind dates in his spreadsheets.
When Chloe and Bran are matched on a dating app, they meet for coffee and take an instant dislike to each other. He is unimpressed by her casual, artsy appearance, and Chloe is put off by his tardiness. After trading insults, they agree to never see each other again. Until they meet a few days later at the yarn store where Chloe works, which is owned by Bran’s mother, Dawn.
Dawn Botstein was the heroine of Mad about Ewe and is the owner of a successful Chicago yarn shop with her best friend, which is where the Knitting in the City ladies go. Dawn is now engaged to Mike Pilota, her high school crush, who works for Quinn Sullivan at Cipher Security. Dawn is thrilled when Chloe and Brandon meet and is insistent that they ride together for the six-hour trip to her destination wedding in Michigan.
The reader knows that Chloe and Bran will overcome their differences and fall madly in love, but the trip on the way to love will be bumpy. Both Chloe and Bran have their own emotional issues to work on along the way. There is so much engaging and realistic banter between the characters, and the chemistry between Bran and Chloe was off the charts! I was so invested in their story. Ewe Complete Me is an easy-to-read romance that contains multiple cameos from the Knitting in the City characters and will be enjoyed by all SmartPants Romance readers. I will definitely be reading more books written by Susannah Nix.
I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from SmartyPants Romance for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
She is a beautiful, creative soul that took a chance on finding love on a dating app. He is the guy that showed up late to their date and had her storming off in anger.
Chloe went to college for textile art and loves her job at a yarn store. When she agrees to meet a guy she met on a dating app, her expectations weren't very high to begin with. But when Bran showed up late, things didn't get any better from there. Hoping to never see him again, she found herself unable to forget their awkward interaction. It wasn't until he walked into her yarn shop that she wondered exactly why he kept showing up in her life.
Bran has worked hard to be in his internship with a plan to be a lawyer. His struggle with ADHD has him strict with scheduling and lists. Lists that apparently irritate a beautiful woman you tried to date. Feeling like he should apologize to the woman who stormed out of their date, he didn't expect to see her again, let alone in his mother's yarn shop. When Bran offers to Chloe a ride to his mother's wedding out of state, even he can't explain why he thought that would be a great idea.
Their road trip was a long story of events but by the time they showed at their destination both of them were smitten with each other. Despite their opposite qualities, they just fit together. Returning to real life after a dream weekend the two need to re-evaluate their individual goals and dreams to see if they can possibly make those plans together.
Dual POV, opposites attract, spicy.
This one had an enemies to lovers beginning. Chloe was not impressed. Bran was just too lost to understand what was happening. But slowly the attraction built between the two once they were able to get to know each other. It was sweet to read their love story. One star removed from rating bc I wanted more from these two. Nice HEA and Epilogue.
So many secondary characters are featured in this one. Bran's mom is the main character from "Mad About Ewe" in this series. Tess and Donal from "Not Since Ewe" are there as well.
Also!!! Janie and Quinn, Elizabeth and Nico, Sandra and Alex, Fiona and Greg, Marie and Matt, and even Stan from the Knitting Series make an appearance!!!
Ewe Complete Me by Susannah Nix is book six in the Common Threads series from Smartypants Romance. Sometimes in life, you just need to hit the redo button on first impressions. Or in Brandon & Chloe’s case, maybe a few times. I loved Susannah’s twist on a meet-cute. Bran is an aspiring lawyer who has structured his life for success. Spending his summer as an intern at a prestigious firm in Chicago leaves little time for romance or family. Chloe is a fiber artist and works for Dawn Botstein at Mad About Ewe. Gah! Dawn is the mom I strive to be! Her words of wisdom throughout this book were amazing and the way she cared for Chloe made my heart happy. I could feel Bran’s stress seep off the page and melt away as Chloe brought him out of his shell. She may be sweet on the streets, but Chloe is a total vixen in the bedroom. Chloe is ebullient but hides lifelong hurts beneath her beguiling personality. Between the KITC crew and her friends at Mad About Ewe, Chloe gained the kindest, most fun and loving found family a girl could as for. The KITC character cameos were pure joy! I loved Bran and Chloe’s charming and steamy love story. If you’re looking for big city romance with a small-town feel, a standoffish grump of a hero and a kind, vivacious heroine, Ewe Complete Me has what you need!
Sebastian Grove & Helen Laser were new-to-me narrators and I thoroughly enjoyed their performances! Sebastian’s narration of Bran as he worked through professional hurdles and personal growth was wonderful. He brought the introverted, calculating, buttoned-up lawyer off the page perfectly. Helen Laser’s portrayal of Chloe made me laugh, cry, and love this new book bestie. Sebastian and Helen gave terrific performances bringing Ewe Complete Me and Susannah’s complex, relatable, endearing characters to life.
I’ve been so enjoying Susannah’s contribution to this series with her love after 40 stories, so when I read the synopsis for this one I was intrigued how she was gonna tie it in. And damn she ever knock it out of the park!
Bran and Chloe could not be more different, he compensates for ADHD but being the most organized a human can be, while she regularly flies be the seat of her pants. He’s studying to be a corporate lawyer, she’s a fiber artist not yet ready to take on the art world. But throw them together for a car trip to his mom’s (Dawn from Mad About Ewe) wedding and suddenly all those opposites are looking much more complimentary.
I love all these troupes! I love how much of the Knitting in the City gang we got to visit with, I loved how both couples from her previous books are such a big part of these two younguns love story. How they advice and guide and sometime call out their stupidity.
I came for the SPRU cameos but I stayed for the captivating coming of age love story between these two charming dummies. Sprinkle in some mutual support, superb banter, heated looks and steamy spice and this book has everything you could want!
I so look forward to the other two that are coming in this fall launch in this series as well as anything else Susannah has on deck for us!
Thank you to Susannah Nix and Smartypants Romance for this advanced copy, all opinions are my own!
This book.. OMG.. this book is possibly my favorite of the series. If you want all the feels in a romcom, this book will deliver! Bran and Chloe are just so imperfectly perfect. Total opposites that fit together despite their disastrous first date!
They get a do-over after realizing they have a common denominator in their lives. Dawn(Bran's mom and Chloe’s boss!), cameos from PennynReid's KITC series, and also from previous books in this series all play a role to make this a fantastic book.
The gallery scene that made me cry like a baby. When she freaked out, when her found family showed up for her and when Bran realized that was exactly where he needed to be!
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 When Chloe and Bran (what kind of a name is that?!) match up closely on a dating app, the actual date is a disaster. The opposite of a “meet-cute”, this is basically a “meet-fail”! He’s late, and then takes notes about the date on a spreadsheet on his phone… with not great things to say either. It’s only later when they realise that Chloe is Bran’s mom shop assistant that things start to get interesting. And when it’s time to road trip to Dawn’s wedding to Mike, and Bran offers Chloe a lift do the two start to really get to know easy other.
𝗠𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 I love Susannah Nix’s other two stories in this series, and this story intersects beautifully with the other two, as well as Penny Reid’s wonderful Knitting in the City series…. It’s like an Easter egg fest! I adored how smart and wise both Dawn (Bran’s mom) and his stepdad-to-be, Mike, are with both Bran and Chloe. It’s not often that a YA (these two are 24-ish) story picks up on how much we still need the emotional support of our parents as adults. Support, guidance, love and mentorship are strong themes in this story, the power of a great hug and sometimes the need for a chosen family. This story and series are a great addition to the Penny Reid / Susannah Nix universe. And if you haven’t gone down that particular rabbit hole of greatness, please do consider it! ❤️
Read on Kindle Unlimited My rating 4/5 - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Having suffered through the authors first two book in this series, I was expecting to slog through this one as well. Surprise! I loved it. A lot. I think both Chloe and Bran are compelling, well rounded characters. I loved their romantic arc, from disaster first date, through awkward road trip, into the kind of feelings that rearrange your whole life. Chloe has a chronic illness and Bran is neurodiverse, both in ways I've never seen in a romance novel before, and I loved every second of their growing vulnerability with each other.
I love a road trip, it's the most concentrated form of forced proximity. Forced to share tight space with another person, eat with them, sleep with them, stop for the bathroom with them. It's a way of creating intimacy quickly, because there is no escape from the other person. And the road trip portion of this book is perfect. It has interesting stops that do character and relationship building work, a genuinely slow shift in regard for both characters, and despite the short time frame, the chemistry is real. And then, an adult understanding of how their relationship might progress. So refreshing. The third act conflict was perfect, and showed so much growth from both of them. I have never been so delighted to be wrong about a book.
Susannah Nix has a way of writing such compelling, romantic and poignant character-driven stories that make me end up bleary eyed the next day as I end up staying way past my bedtime to try and finish reading it (alas I reached 2am and was forced to put it down). I was hooked from the opening with the disasterous first date and spreadsheets.
I absolutely adored Bran and Chloe, seperately and together. I love that the conflict is internal and not the same old tired cliches trotted out. These two people felt so real with their struggles - ones that lead to a rocky start because these issues rubbed against each other. But once they understood each other's internal world and learnt how to communicate with each other to share, they were magic together.
It was also such a treat to have old characters (Dawn, Angie, Tess, Mike, Donal and the Knitting in the City crew) make impactful cameos. Like the other 'Ewe' books, this was like a cosy handmade knitted sweater. I can't wait for my audiobook to download so I can re-live this reading experience again, but this time it will be accompanied with lemon drop martinis.
After a disastrous first date, Chloe and Bran hope to never see each other again - except his mom is Chloe's boss and she's getting married, expecting both of them to attend the wedding weekend. A road trip and the subsequent weekend bring the two opposites closer, but can their relationship translate to the real world once they get home? I loved the awkward date that kicks off the book, leaving me to wonder how Chloe and Bran could ever recover from it. Although it is a very short timeline, it was fun to see how as they got to know each other, a deep understanding formed, despite their differences. This book was a great example of how opposites attract and complement each other. I also loved the focus on each of their careers and how they were each at kind of a critical time (mid-twenties, Bran studying to become a lawyer and Chloe wanting to become an artist). I guess my only issue was the intensity of the relationship because of their young age and wondering how that will sustain for the future. Also, this book is part of a series - although it is marketed as can be read as a standalone, it might help to understand the side characters by reading their books first, especially since they play such a large role here.
This is my first from this author, and focuses on Bran and Chloe. They met on a blind date, but Bran was so off putting that it wasn’t a good experience or either of them. When Chloe finds out that Bran is her boss’ Dawn’s son, she plays nice because she’s attending Dawn’s wedding. However, through the course traveling to the wedding with Bran, Chloe sees a different side to him, and they both become much more accepting of each other as they get to know the other. I like how both characters put their assumptions aside, and how the little revelations about their lives really explained why they function the way they do. I can’t help but feel for Chloe, he really just years for love and acceptance. The same goes for Bran, so these two came together at just the right amount of time. This book dragged a little for me in the middle, and the build up to spicy time took a long time, although honestly, it was in the middle of the book. I liked revisiting the adjacent world of Knitting in the City again, that was nice.
I've loved each of the books I've read in the Common Thread series. I enjoyed the updates on the previous characters we've known from previous books.
I hope you've read the Knitting in the Series books (because this is a great world) because if you have, Marie and Matt's first date was a disaster like this first date.
Chloe and Bran are pretty different. Bran has to live a pretty structured life because he's had a hard time of it. Structure makes life easier for him. Chloe is beat your own drum, find your own way free.
The misunderstandings between the two are pretty entertaining. And also I wanted to yell, "hey explain why you are the way you are, they might understand!!!" It made me frustrated in a good way.
I had never read a guy like Bran before so his way in the world was very different for me. I enjoyed seeing his way, it was a learning curve for me.
I loved how they worked out! Growth was had all around and it made it so sweet.
Never judge a guy by the first date. Bran almost blew his chances with Chloe but as fate would have it things work out in the end. Chloe is an artist working at the yarn store until she can get her art selling. She has a magnetic personality, quirky style and fabulous artistic skills, pretty much Bran’s opposite. Bran is a law student interning for some mucky muck firm in Chicago, while he’s pleasant there are some oddities to his personality that take getting used to. He has a way of coping with things that are unique but work for him. Their relationship is definitely an opposites attract type, forced together for a road trip they get to know more than they wanted. Their story is fun, unique and goofy at times to give that comedic break that’s needed when discussing flaws and vulnerability. I really enjoy Nix’s style and her characters are very relatable. I got to enjoy an early copy and have written my honest review voluntarily.
Chloe is sunny & optimistic & artistic. However, she's "a highly sensitive person, due in part to a lack of parental warmth growing up." which makes her react overly strongly to Bran's seemingly insensitive actions.
Bran I identify with. However, his disorder is identified as ADHD not Asperger's Syndrome (high-functioning autism). He uses spreadsheets A LOT to give order to a confusing world. He seems to have no concept of tact; blurts truths which unknowingly hurt others while believing he is being helpful. Genuinely puzzled by people's negative reactions to him.
Bran has no room for a relationship because of his total focus on getting on the partner track at a major law firm. Chloe feels that there's no relationship in her future because no one sticks around. They meet and it's hate at first sight. Watching their growth was a great fun read.
Chloe and Bran are complete opposites, but a 'Find Your Perfect Match' dating app brings them together. Despite their first date being a disaster, they left a lingering impression on one another. Weeks later they find out that Chloe works for Bran's mom and they would have to spend time together at his mom's destination wedding. As Chloe and Bran get to know one another, they shift from enemies to friends to lovers. I love the Smartypants Romance unconventional main characters. Bran has ADHD and copes in his busy life with regimented schedules and spreadsheets. Chloe is a colorful textile artist who feels everyone's emotions around her. This is a feel good read with a HEA. I would deduct half a star because there is not much tension which I love, but a good story regardless.
I went into this book completely blind. Having read the authors prior two books in this series, I was like heck yeah, I enjoyed those, sign me up!
So I was surprised and delighted that the two main characters in this book had already been introduced (but hadn’t met yet)!
This opposites attract + forced proximity was done really well. Especially since Bran and Chloe had such a disaster of a meet cute. Even given that these characters are younger (24), once they shook off their i rial contempt of each other they were open and honest with each other.
I pretty much laughed with glee when some of my favorite Knitting in the City characters made an appearance(s). Mike and Tess’ party was hilarious, just saying.
Another great addition to the fall Smartypants Romance Launch. Susannah is one of my go-to authors as she creates amazing characters and beautiful stories. She brings the perfect amount of humor, quirkiness and fun adventures to her stories that keeps you turning the pages.
What’s starts out as a bad first date turns into a delightful friendship/romance. I love road trip stories and Chloe and Brandon take us on an exciting trip with many laughs along the way.
Initially it appears they are opposites, but as they spend more time together they realize they have a lot in common, enjoy each others company and their chemistry is undeniable.
As always, I love the cameos from the other characters in the SPR world. Highly recommend!
I am a longtime fan of Susannah Nix's and I've read all of her Common Threads books (which is a Collaborative series with authors Nanxi Wen and Heidi Hutchinson). I even got to meet her at Book Bonanza in 2023! I really enjoy this enemies to lovers story. I adored poor, sweet, but clueless start of book Bran. Susannah's sensitive and accurate representation of ADHD is important. And I 100% agree that "male forearms were a fatal weakness of mine". I love that Susannah writes real, flawed, but strong women characters like Chloe. I also loved getting to see past familiar characters from the series. I highly recommend this book and this author!
I've been eagerly awaiting the release of this book, and it appeared on my e-reader overnight. So today I immersed myself in it, and was not disappointed.
Chloe and Brad are great characters and Nix's sparkling dialogue really brings them to life in the best way. I don't know a lot about ADHD and the different ways it manifests or the way it presents, both from the perspective of the person who has it and from the perspectives of those around them who may--or, more likely, may not--understand what's going on. In addition to a lovely romance, this book gave me a lot to think about, and I appreciate that.
I enjoyed this book tremendously and eagerly await Nix's next book.
self consciously modern in sensibility, with chapters serving to elaborate on how very modern our main characters are. in other words, tedious. A brudal shower filled with fruit and balloons with raunchy references only made me cringe at how vulgar and uncomfortable that would be, particularly in mixed company.
the most disappointing part was how very un-fun the writing was.
Coming off an emgrossing and delightful book by C.W.Farnsworth may have made it harder to appreciate this book for its own inherent value but I did read to 25% before giving up and skipping to theHEA.
