LEGO City is full of helpful hands and land is not the only place to find a friendly face. When the captain has a ship full of a crew ready to survey the bay, everyone breathes a sigh of relief. Scuba divers plunge and sea fauna enjoy the waters. However, after a windsurfer gets a little too adventurous, encountering trouble and a rocky shore, the ship steams ahead, all hands on deck, to help. In LEGO City, no one is left to fend for themselves. Neo enjoyed taking the lead with this book and was able to push through some of the larger words. He seems to be on a LEGO kick, exploring the various parts of the city’s helpful folk. Keep an eye open for more books in this interesting series.
My children love these little books. They thoroughly enjoy each and every story, as if they are all unique and individual without any cause for similarity among them. Even though sometimes, they might seem tedious and repetitive to me as a parent, I do enjoy being able to read short-stories to my children that are clean and respective.
July 2017 - it's short. It's got LEGO stuff. But as Ben pointed out, "what happened to his boat?" (ie, the windsurfer's boat/board/whatever you call it). Continuity issues aside, he was a fan.
This book is set in a harbor and focuses around a bunch of the Lego sea craft. The story is about a surfer who gets into trouble and the coast guard must come to the rescue. Like most of the Lego City books, this one has bright vibrant colors. It's a story to help children develop their reading skills and is a fun story to be enjoyed by the whole family. I believe this is the first of the Lego City books by Easton and Kiernan and they have done a great job matching the look and feel of the series but having their own distinct contribution.
The Leveled readers are great books for young children. They are designed to progress as a child's reading improves. There are hundreds of titles in these formats, even across different publishers. What makes this particular series, The Lego City Adventures, so good, is that little kids will be attracted to them because of the format and style. These books are bright, vibrant, and colorful stories with fun illustrations. As a Level 1 reader geared for Kindergarten to Grade 1, this book is intended to help with sight word recognition, and sounding out simple words and sentences.

We ordered a lot of these books from the series for our library's collection. I am slightly disappointed in them. I thought the illustrations would be made of real legos, not computer graphics. The story lines are just so so. I wish the illustrators had been more creative and thoughtful. The great thing about legos is your taking solid shapes and building structures with them. It is a form of architectural art that kids really love. However these are simple computer graphics and the story lines are simplistic and unimpressive.
This book is a five star book because the ship guys are not just rude, they actually are good because they are not just like that guy is suffocating, they actually go help the people. That is what I like about this book.
