This adorable and delightful picture book is an ode to the strongest of bonds—the love from a parent. The winner of the 2001 Golden Books Golden Award, Where Do Kisses Come From is illustrated with family scenes of cuter-than-cute animals expressing their affection for their little ones.
This is another book that I cannot wait to read to my three year old! Growing up, I knew my mother loved my siblings and I, however, she was not a very affectionate person. We did not hug or kiss each other every day. And although I knew she loved me, I wanted that when I seen a more physically loving relationship between other mother and children. Before I even had a child, I knew that kissing and hugging and saying "I love you's" was something I would do every single day. I think a very great way to educate children, no matter how old, is by reading books to them. This book will help me express my love for my daughter. This story made me feel happy.
This thrift store find is another addition to my Little Golden Book collection. It is a sweet book that offers many explanations for the answer to the title question Where Do Kisses Come From? The illustrations show various animal families going through the day highlighting opportunities for kisses and different types of kisses. It is a good book to remind families of things they can enjoy together.
Genre: Modern Fantasy Grade Range: Early Primary (K-1) I thought that this book was really cute. It's simple and easy to understand and explains why parents kiss their children. I liked that it used different types of animals in the illustrations and that the illustrations added to the understanding of the story.
I am slowly building a bookcase that is full of the Little Golden Books for my baby boy. I can’t wait until it is full and the sunlight will reflect on all of the pretty golden spines!
This one was a fairly simple short story about where kisses come from. I got it for Valentine’s Day to read to my son next month. I can’t wait to finally hold him in my arms!
A perfect little Book for a toddler starting out , whether you’re reading it to them or they are learning to read… it has enough words without being too much. Overall a sweet, little read. The first book my toddler sat through while I read the whole thing. Plus, it’s a golden book! Can’t go wrong with a golden book.
I read this book to my granddaughter because it was one of my son's favorites when he was little. Just a bit of nostalgia and sharing our family's love of reading with the next generation
My girls were a little big for this, but you know Mommy took advantage of the opportunity to express lots and lots of kisses and love after reading this.
This book is surprisingly good, and I would give it two and a half stars. The writing of Maria Fleming is sure and sweet, done with just the right touch of tenderness and a beautiful understanding of the pictures that words can paint. I really enjoyed reading this short book and letting the love in it wash over me. It is medicinal, and makes me happy. :-)
