Kids love cheetahs. Not only are they the fastest land animals, they also have the most adorable cubs that love to play and roll around all day long. Veteran science book author Ginjer L. Clarke seamlessly intertwines a narrative about a cheetah mother and her cubs with facts and figures about these fascinating animals. And with realistic and beautiful illustrations, beginning readers will love this book.
Wanted to do some light reading non fiction for my son during the summer. Animals books are always a winner. It's a book about the life of Cheetahs, cubs specifically. The author kept the facts brief, but did a little story telling to make it interesting.
This is another nonfiction book that does a great job of including both pictures and a strong structure supporting solid facts. The conventions are very clear in this book, and while the sentences are varying in structure, there are different kinds of conventions used that could be focused on.
I loved this fun book on Cheetahs! It is written to be a science reader and to me seems like a non-fiction book in disguise. There are lots of great illustrations and it appears like it is telling a story, but it really consists of facts about how Cheetahs survive and live their lives. It is described to be a book that will be good for a young reader to read with help. I think if that is the case this book good be for an advanced primary reader, maybe first or second grade. I also think this could be a great book to do as buddy reading with older grades! It has fairly simple words and sentences and provides great, interesting facts about Cheetahs!
This is a great, informative book for younger readers about the lifestyle, appearance, and characteristics of cheetah cubs. The illustrations are detailed and life-like. The book asks the reader questions, which give them the opportunity to participate and keeps them engaged. I would use this in a lesson about wild animals and mammals, or it could be a good resource for a research project.
