Invaluable to my understanding of how spirituality is directly linked to your physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being!!!
This book totally gave me the language that I was looking for to explain my general discontent with organized religion and what I felt was lacking in my personal spiritual practice. Provided much-needed clarity and is written in excellent workbook format, easy to read and digest for new-comers to ancient African spirituality and practices.
I have gifted this book to over 20 different people who have had similiar life-changing experiences after reading it.
It changed my life, period.

Exactly what I needed when I needed it. I am grateful to Shola for writing this book, from this perspective. I completed it, but I will never be finished mining the gems here. This is a resource book to return to again and again.

I learned that there are too many mixes of different cultures, and it can get confusing. This book mixes Indian, Asian and African for a way of healing that may appeal to African Americans, and people who follow Afrocentric traditions. I didn't find this book useful as a way to elevate myself, (and believe me I tried.)

I did enjoy the education about where certain beliefs came from though, and I found that some meditations were nice for the sake of Chakras. (I just didn't think that they should be mixed like that.) [Personal opinion]

Overall, I did like the book.
