A fun book to read filled with ideas on how to pamper yourself. A lot of these ideas are actually quite simple (and not over the board), and every once in a while, I find myself trying out a couple just to relax and give myself a break.
Meh. I liked the author’s idea in theory, that we should all take the time to find the little things to do to make ourselves feel luxurious. However, most of the 151 ways that the author cited was of no interest to me.
A bit annoying & condescending, as the author seems to assume everyone can spend money like a Rockefeller. (Rent a Jaguar just for kicks? Treat yourself to pearls from Tiffany? Yeah, I'll get right on that, I don't need electricity this month.) However, some of the simple indulgences (e.g. growing night-blooming flowers, making lavender sachets, scoring vintage treasures, etc.) are nice ideas for the budget-minded like myself.
This book wasn't what I expected. Had I known that it was more of a "thought of the day" type of read, I may have been a bit more pleased with it. Instead, it could've better been written as one of those inspirational "Flip Chart" type calendars.
