This book collects the hitherto unpublished correspondence between science fiction legend Sir Arthur C. Clarke and fantasy master Lord Dunsany. Their correspondence, which lasted 12 years (1944-1956), reveals much about the world views of both authors.
The meeting of two minds, a fantasist, and a science fictioneer, Lord Dunsany and Arthur C. Clarke. Their historical correspondences ranged in topics such as writing, space travel, and other philosophical ruminations though not so much on the latter. Interesting to imagine watching two people have a conversation about space, stars, and our closest satellite, the moon. Clarke’s correspondence with Dunsany can also be a good addition to his correspondence with C.S. Lewis. Definitely recommended.
I had a Devil of a time tracking this short and apparently obscure book down. I'm very glad I did. Thank God for Libraries! The letters were relatively few, but touching. Although these authors were seemingly very different, they shared a deep appreciation for the power of imagination. I will be reading more of both in the near future.
