The Rough Guide to Brittany & Normandy is your essential handbook to two of France’s most enduringly popular areas. The full-colour section showcases the highlights from both regions, from Carnac megaliths to Camembert Cheese. For every town and village, there are comprehensive and opinionated reviews of all the best hotels, restaurants and cafés, whatever your budget. There is plenty of practical advice on a host of activities including boat trips along Brittany’s Nantes-Brest canal and cycling the backroads. The guide also includes a unique chapter on Breton music and language and comes complete with maps and plans for every area. The Rough Guide to Brittany & Normandy is like having a local friend plan your trip!
As of September 2020 the suggested highlights are still valid and open. I used the guide to plan a 2 week vacation for my wife and I (30s couple) and to fill 2-3 hour gaps of time time where I had nothing planned.
The sites, "ways to get there", towns and villages are accurately described. The context section added a different dimension and depth to sites visited where no English tour was available.
I did not visit any of the suggested places to eat, camping sites or stay at the suggested accomodation.
