Read the first three installments in New York Times bestselling author Sabrina Jeffries School for Heiresses series. Sabrina Jeffries is the NYT bestselling author of over 50 novels and works of short fiction (some written under the pseudonyms Deborah Martin and Deborah Nicholas). Whatever time not spent writing in a coffee-fueled haze of dreams and madness is spent traveling with her husband and adult autistic son or indulging in one of her passions—jigsaw puzzles, chocolate, and music. With over 11 million books published in print and electronically in 25 different languages, the North Carolina author never regrets tossing aside a budding career in academics for the sheer joy of writing fun fiction, and hopes that one day a book of hers will end up saving the world.
I’ve read quite a lot of Sabrina Jeffries by now and I must say these are not her best work. The first is pretty good, the second bored me, and the third made me crazy. While the men are all swoon worthy, the women made me crazy. I particularly dislike Louisa. Venetia was less annoying but the story was so disjointed I couldn’t enjoy it. The back and forth of her refusing to marry him, then pleading to marry him, but by then he refuses to marry her, etc. etc. They just couldn’t get on the same page all the way to the end. The history of the Highland clearances is worth reading the book for, not to mention whisky, kilts and ceilidhs. I wouldn’t continue with this series except I’m dying to know what happens between Charlotte and Michael. Telling their story a paragraph at a time is clever. Clever enough to keep me reading 3 star books? Maybe.
Esta saga de libros me encanto, fueron muchos los días que me acostaba muy tarde leyendo, sin parar, pero cuando te gusta la historia, las horas pasan rapido.
