Half a history of fashion, half a history of fashion illustration. It doesn't go into too much detail about any one thing, but I found the year-by-year summary of style progression especially clear and interesting. The book is well-written and, naturally, contains stunning illustrations.

One of the very prettiest books in my collection. :) Even though Julian had his snoot in the air throughout most of it (predictably enough).
