Lucy and Linus's younger brother Rerun really wants a dog of his own. He can't have Snoopy, so he asks Snoopy's brother Spike to come stay. They have a great time, but Rerun's mom thinks dogs are too much trouble! When Spike goes home to the desert, will Rerun's Christmas be ruined?
Rerun van Pelt, the younger brother of Lucy and Linus gets to take the lead in this adaptation of a television special, and he is on the hunt for a pet dog. At first he just tries spending more time visiting Snoopy, but he soon comes up with a surprising idea to get his own dog.
The special was cobbled together from dialogue from Charles M. Schulz's original strips, and now this book tries to winnow the story down to its essential points, resulting in an unsatisfying hodgepodge of scenes that don't necessarily hang together . . . unless of course the moral of the story is that we don't need pets if we have Jesus Christ in our hearts?
My daughter liked this book when she was four, but two decades later she is annoyed by it.
Rerun, Linus and Lucy's little brother, was bored one day and asked Charlie Brown to see if Snoopy wanted to play basketball. After a few minutes, Snoopy finally decides to come out and play. Rerun loved playing with Snoopy so much, that the next day he went over to Charlie Brown's house again and asked the same question, but he couldn't today. Rerun wanted to tell Santa that he wanted a dog for Christmas. Rerun got to be in a Christmas play.

I Want A Dog For Christmas Charlie Brown, is a Chrlie Brown collection book about Linus and Lucy's little brother, Rerun and how he wants a dog. Rerun's mom won't let him get a dog. When Snoopy's brother Spike comes to town, Rerun gets to take care of him for a little while. Rerun has his own dog to take care of! But all good thigs have to come to an end.
My connection is obviously to Rerun. I have wanted a dog my entire life. My parents will never let me get one though. I keep hoping and someday it might happen. Rerun never loses hope.
I would give this book 5 stars because like i said in another report, CHARLIE BROWN RULES. Also because a lot of kids feel the way Rerun does. This book is very realistic in so many ways! IT IS SO AMAZING!!
If you enjoyed the Peanuts gang as a kid this is a nice 'newer' story that centers around Rerun Linus and Lucy's little brother, wanting someone to play with and have fun. He enjoys Snoopy and has him have his brother come and be his dog. They enjoy one another until his mom tells him he has to go back to the desert. But Lucy helps Rerun get over being sad and includes him in the Christmas play. A really nice read to my 2 year old granddaughter although she may not have understood everything in the story was still very nice.
