Two classic Westmoreland novels from bestselling author Brenda Jackson

"Jared's Counterfeit Fiancee"

When Jared meets Dana Rollins again, he decides to collect on the favor she owes him. Dana is reluctant to pretend to be engaged for Jared's family--until she gets swept up in the wild, heady passion they share. But when the charade ends, can she walk away--and keep her heart intact?

"The Chase Is On"

Chase is the last bachelor among the Westmoreland brothers. But the restaurateur is in no hurry to settle down. Life is sweet and business couldn't be better--especially since alluring confectioner Jessica Claiborne moved in next door. Yet even as Jessica surrenders to Chase's charm, she knows her family's secret could ruin any chance at love....

After reading "Irresistible Forces" by Brenda Jackson it was very difficult to pick up another one of her novels. I found "Claimed for Destiny" just boring and badly written, but other bibliophiles, lovers of romance novels, and fans of Jackson's writing encouraged me to give her a second chance, so I did and I'm glad I got the opportunity to read "Claimed for Destiny." Jackson's two stories, "Jared's Counterfeit Fiancee" and "The Chase Is On" are quite similar - two Westmoreland men who have every luxury at their whim along with negative outlooks on love and relationships fall deeply in love with equally as successful, beautiful and ambitious women with some sort of problem that these Westmoreland men can solve thus giving these women the magnificent, luxurious lifestyles every woman could imagine along with mind-blowing sexual encounters. But, hey, I knew what I was getting into when I picked up these books and I'm not complaining. Jackson has won me over and I intend to get as many of Jackson's romance novels as I can in the coming weeks. She provides the drama and salacious tales I need to take my mind off my own real problems :) Anyway, "Claimed for Destiny" includes two fun reads. I haven't met my Westmoreland man yet, but I can read about the lucky women in Jackson's novels who have, can't I?

Republish books

I have read both books and really loved them. You cant go wrong with a Westmoreland brother, sister or cousin. If you are not familiar with the series i suggest to try and read in order, they can stand alone but it always refer to a family member or a teaser whose story is next.
I like them both but i really loved Jared's story

this is the cover i did read ...so i am going there. lots of editions to pick from. read it through my local library leaning program. i explain last time i read a bunch of Brenda's book through the same platform ... i did have to pick of the ones i did read. so i read this one ... Claimed for Destiny (why do i wanna write Dinner ... Claimed for Dinner. there authors that is title for ya!! lol.) as well as ... Bane #27 in series, Perfect Timing, Bachelor Undone #3, and Bachelor Unclaimed #4. now you might wonder why i did pick these ... well on the platform they were recommended and i was curious by the cover and title of the books. so my fave: "Perfect Timing" was a bit higher for me ... gosh ...that was a tough decision. gotta run ...books and life to be working on ... laters.

Great stories. Short, sweet and sexy as hell.

I didn't care much for Jared's mom (Sarah). I felt like she was competing with her best friend who sons had gotten married. Your kid has to fake a proposal to keep you happy-Ridiculous. Besides that, Jared and Dana was great, likeable characters. Their HEA was so sweet. I love their twists on classic games (Red Light, Green Light; Hide and Seek; and Spin the Bottle). That's one fun bedroom.

Chase and Jessica was fire from the first encounter. Chase is a quiet, deep sexy, and Jessica is fire sexy. Together, they are lit.

I really enjoyed both books. I like when the leading man can be honest with his self and communicate his feelings when needed. Both books were steamy and kept my attention.

It didn't disappoint. The biggest surprise was her being a virgin and not knowing it.

"Jared's Counterfeit Fiancee"

This story was definitely a "green light" It's so funny how Dana and Jared pretended to be in love and actually fell in it. The fact that the two initially did this play act to make a Westmoreland mother happy, was very sweet to me! Great Job Brenda!!

"The Chase is On"

The soul food cooker, Chase found love with Jessica, the confectioner. This story was definitely dinner and dessert all at the same time. Hmmm.. quite tasty. I enjoyed reading the conclusion to the first set of Westmoreland brothers and I look forward to the next!!! Woohoo!!

Love the Westmoreland family series. So glad I am able to read the first stories two at a time. Definitely makes things easier. Another one that I could probably read over and over again without getting tired or bored. Mrs. Jackson is amazing!
