24 books18 followersI'm a professional writer and illustrator, with 23 children’s books published so far and several others in the works. I write for all ages, from toddlers to adults, and enjoy working on my own, as well as in collaboration with other authors and illustrators.
In terms of style, my illustrations tend to be more whimsical than realistic, and I've worked in watercolor, oils, pastels, pen and ink, and collage. Lately, I've been experimenting with layering colors in oils and using the resulting swatches to create collage. It makes me happy to work with so many gorgeous, rich colors.
My writing ranges from extensively researched, powerful non-fiction narrative to humorous fiction and poetry, with some folktales and other stories thrown in for fun. I write things that move me or make me laugh, and I hope that my readers will enjoy them.

I thought this was a cute story about making sure everyone has food to be thankful for. I remember making pinecone bird feeders as a kid. The story was about giving thanks and it did a good job at that.
I wasn't crazy about the art. It wasn't bad, simply not my style.
I got this from the library after the holiday and read it anyway. The kids still enjoyed it

This was an okay Thanksgiving story. Frank enjoyed it, but did not ask to read it again.

Natalie was super excited when I picked this out for her because she was already reading it in class.

We listened to the audio version and then had to see the book. It reminds us of The Night Tree. My five year old was inspired to make a beast feast and wrote down the list of treats.:)
