Highland Dream #1

Highland Dream

Rate this book
Jix Ferguson could laugh off anything, but when a prophetic dream revealed that her best friend was making a terrible mistake and marrying the wrong guy, everything seemed a lot more serious. So she tricked Samantha into flying to Scotland. There the two women met the man Jix was convinced her friend should marry—Jamie MacGregor. He was handsome, smart, perfect...the only problem was, Jix fell for him, too. And there was another issue: a slight scuffle involving the Scot's ancestral sword sent all three back in time to the start of the seventeenth century—when MacGregors where outlaws and hunted. But things weren't so terrible; none of this was anything a little willpower and a few verses of "I Will Survive" couldn't cure. All Jix had to do was marry Griffin Campbell, steal Jamie's sword back from their captor, and find a way to return herself and her friends to their own time—with their heads and hearts intact. Oh yeah, and she had to fall in love. It wasn't going to be easy, but in this matter of the heart, Jix knew she'd laugh last.

No actual tears to make the 5th star but how about I laughed my ass off the entire book. Never have I read a book that I couldn't stop laughing. The most hysterical character I have ever come across. Bloody brilliant is Jix! I would, maybe even could never befriend someone like her. She was so unpredictable and spontaneous, I be very afraid! I freakin loved this book! Just thinking about it and I start laughing all over again! A must read! You will not be disappointed!

If I was a lusty teenager this book would really satisfy me. As it is, there is. very little substance and a lot of lovemaking.

This is a time travel story where 3 people get pulled back to 1605. I wasn't really impressed with the Jix - too much riding on dreams and her perception of them for my taste. Jix made a lot of POOR choices and Jamie put up with more than he should have with her behavior.

Time travel romance that was light on the history and the romance. Never really bought anything in this story and I didn't find it particularly funny either.
