I’m an author, but I could never have started writing books if I hadn’t loved reading them first. Reading isn’t just one of my favourite things to do; it’s one of the most important things in my life. I can’t imagine a world in which I couldn’t read, every day. That’s why I always read to my children every day, just as my parents used to read to me. Stories can be exciting, sad, funny, scary or comforting, but the most amazing thing about them is that they take us into new worlds and teach us something more about ourselves, all at the same time.

This book will resonate for people who played imaginative games with their siblings.

This cute book is all about two sisters who are playing in their backyard. Except, due to their imagination, their backyard is not an ordinary backyard and the girls are not ordinary sisters. The older sister is a brave princess, where the younger sister is a scared panther. This story is all about their made-up adventures in their back yard when they decided to have a camp out one night. When it starts to get dark, the panther begins to get scared of all of the things that arise. When enough is enough, the panther scares everything outside of their tent away, and the girls are able to sleep the night away.
This story reminded me of my childhood where I would play dress up and think up crazy imaginary stories. Children would love this story because it would also remind them of the games they play! Also, the illustrations in this book are amazing! I can tell that the pictures are painted with paint, where you can see the texture immediately. The colors through out the whole book are very bright and vibrant! I honestly loved everything about this story.

"The princess was brave, and the panther tried to be." This line was repeated over and over, to the point where I was sort of tired of it. And then! This is when the story got good!

Two sister, one a princess and the other a panther, decide to spend the night in a tent in the backyard. The two explore their new world, which stretches from the sandbox and kiddie pool before going to be in their red tent. Night noises nearly get the best of them, but the two sisters manage to be brave together.

A really sweet story about sisters confronting their fears. Many youngsters (and some adults) will relate to the way sounds at night seems much scarier than they really are.

This book was a really cute and creative read! The author uses amazing descriptive detail and onomatopoeias that truly paint visual pictures and auditory sounds in the reader's mind. Young students could certainly relate to camping out in the backyard and going on an imaginary adventure like the two sisters do in the book.

Two sisters spend the night in their backyard imagining that they are a princess and a panther. The older sister, the princess, is the braver of the two, but in the end it takes both of them to scare away the monsters. Great repeating words for an excellent storytime.

delightful children's book celebrating the power of the imagination where the sandpit becomes a desert to be crossed and the paddling pool a wide lake. Trouble is, the panther (younger sister) has a very active imagination and is trying so hard to be brave.

I read this sweet picture book to my nephew. The writing was fun to read out loud. The pictures are pretty and the story of two little girls camping out and being scared by their own imaginations is a good teaching tool for kids who are prone to scaring themselves a little too much.

A lovely story about the journey of a princess and her panther. The illustrations paint a different story however - a story of two sisters and their imaginary playtime. A gorgeous fusion of story and illustrations.

Two sisters, playing dress up, camp out in the yard. One is more confident of being out at night than the other. Playful art.

Great example of the illustrations telling a different story than the words (or changing the meaning of the words).
