The Love God of Indian Frybread

Ever Beleño is a collector of old Hollywood memorabilia. He's also a fan of dead people. Mummies are his special passion, just like flying saucers are his roommate Johnny's particular obsession. Ever's dark and gothic world might be lonely, but after a heart-breaking split with his ex, he wants it no other way...until he visits the sold-out Mummies of the World exhibit.

As Ever studies one particular ancient Egyptian mummy, he experiences the odd, chilly sensation of somebody touching and following him. Every time he turns to look, he thinks it's handsome but obnoxious security guard Chris Coelho, who snuck Ever into the exhibit as a favor. Chris clearly wants the favor returned, but would the man really feel up Ever in public? Ever isn't sure, but then once he goes home, weird things continue happening.

Chris shows up everywhere, but he's suddenly sweet, silly, profound and...forgetful. After a torrid night of passion, Ever becomes hooked on the guy even as his feelings for Chris veer between desire and exasperation.

And then, the mummy Ever had been studying disappears from the exhibit. Could the events be connected? Could the spirit of the mummy have somehow followed him home? Is Ever losing his mind? Or is Chris really, as he says in a drunken moment, The Love God of Indian Frybread?

A.J. Llewellyn lives in California, but dreams of living in Hawaii. Frequent trips to all the islands, bags of Kona coffee in the fridge and a healthy collection of Hawaiian records keep this writer refueled.

This is like a novel in a novella format. There are so many pieces and the hot sexy men are just a small portion. Ever is the nicest guy and together with his best friend and roommate Jhonny, they have big plans for their life in Hollywood. But it's the stories they love and the atmosphere and they both have reverence for history and memorabilia that I felt as I was reading. So there's a part of the book that is grounded and the other, the paranormal part with the mummy that is pure fun fantasy. I loved Jhonny's family, his mother, his sister, his father and I enjoyed seeing all those relationships at work. Ever's relationship with Chris, or Bes Ammon in Chris, as Chris, becoming Chris, was scorching. It sounds like Bes Ammon and Ever knew each other in the past and maybe that will be explored in another book. I hope so. Maybe Ever's name is Ever for a reason. There's a lot of detail here and depth and I was totally immersed and wanted it to go on. This should not be missed.

Two ardent collectors of Hollywood memorabilia, a fan of dead people and his best friend, their issues with former and current lovers, and a mummy whose spirit “wanders” out of its museum are the colorful ingredients in this humor-laced fantasy about eternal love. There is a lot going on in this book, and I loved the mix of LA history and historical Hollywood tidbits that A.J. Llewellyn wove into this tale. It’s fun, slightly mysterious, filled with flawed characters, and a plot that twists and turns in expected as well as unexpected ways.

The Love God of Indian Frybread by A. J. Llewellyn

Yummy Sweets, Sexy Mummies and a Ouija boards! What more can a girl ask for in a book??? Well for this girl not a whole hell of a lot more. The Love God of Indian Frybread is to me a Classic AJ Llewellyn novel… It’s sweet, funny, sexy, and has food sex. AJ have this innate ability to sweep a person into his novels, teach them something random about Ancient History, food, Or Old Hollywood they might not have known before...

The Love God of Indian Frybread doesn’t fail to suck you in and keep you on edge till the very end... You truly feel what everyone is going through… Finding what feels like true love only to have that person do something Odd too, trying to impress and win a childs affection when they don’t share the same interests you do. This book really makes you ask yourself what I would do if….

I enjoyed this book more that I thought I might... I try to not judge a book by its cover and when I think AJ and Mummies something hotter and less creepy comes to mind... However don’t let the cover scare you this book is truly classic AJ HOTNESS…

Ever is to me a Classic hopeless romantic even if he doesn’t realize it..All he wants is for Love and Luck to shine in his direction and he is answered with Chris. Who isn’t what Ever was expecting but is he what he needs? Can first impressions be deceiving? Well I ain't telling!!! However what I will tell you is AJ Finds some very new and Very Different uses for his favorite food Cupcakes!I don’t want to give away anything about this book other than if you Love Mummies, Old Hollywood,Cupcakes and sex than this book is worth getting and reading... I highly recommend it and think all of you will love it too…

On my New Peni Scale I have to give this Book a 10 plus erect Peni for its use of food, creative use of a Condom and Just plain hot dirty sex. I also have to give AJ props for creative use of Cupcakes.

On a Scale of 1-100 for Hotness I give The Love God of Indian Frybread a 99.9 ( I took away a fraction of a point because of AJ creative but non sexual use of a Cupcake) But Over all this book IS HOT and will leave you fanning and panting with need and hotness..

I found the story to be a bit of a mess, honestly. Ever and Jhonny were likable, but all the events that surround them just seem to be randomly thrown together. A lot of attention was brought up on Ever's life like ex Addison, his mother, randomly his father, his dog... but they never make an appearance in the novel and his issues with them (particularly his mother) are never resolved. Jhonny, on the other hand, although gets half the novel told in his pov really feels like a secondary character since it felt like his sister and mother, heck, even his father played a bigger role than he did.

And finally, what bugs me the most, was that what Chris did during the week (when everyone thought he was doing his security work) was never revealed. It's like they all just conveniently forgot that little detail. This story was really short too, which is probably why it read like it was rushed.

The title is kind of cheesy, the synosis sort of remind me of a B grade horror movie but once I start reading, it is actually a fun read. Not the usual AJ's style but this feather weight sort of override my sceptical mind and make me a fan at the end of ride. Extra 1/2 star for the research given to those memorabilia
